Yes the company is bad, but brooke is at fault too. She should have researched about the company beforehand. Well , I think that she made a mistake and is learning from it and in the future will try not to do that. So she is at fault but imo she's not the bad guy, just at fault and that's okay! Everyone makes mistakes but we need to own up to them and acknowledge them.
I'm so happy you recognized how sketchy Temu is. Not a lot of people do. for those who don't know it is full of malware and is run by the CCP, which also runs Shein. It's so important to be role models for children, and I love how you literally make that your job :)

I'm sorry I responded late in the evening when I was too tired to do anything. Temu has been subject to many complaints to the BBB, which has a customer service rating of 1.5 stars. People are receiving their orders months after they were supposed to, if they receive them at all. Temu is a Communist China owned site that tracks your location and activity on other apps. It gains access to all your texts and contacts and SM platforms, so basically everything on your phone. Many people don't realize this because it uses unconventional means that are hard to detect

Taking accountability, making not one but two videos about it and apologising. When your followers brought up an issue, you researched more and terminated the contract. You've done the right thing! It's commendable that you're taking this experience to apply to future sponserships and brand deals going forward. Realising that your platform has an impact and a reach and the responsibility you have with that is daunting so it's great that you're treating this like a wake up call rather than looking at it opportunitistically. It really shows your maturity and good morals, especially in comparison to other influencers using tik tok and yt shorts as primary platforms doing similar spinserships and their responses (or lack thereof) to similar situations. You're a good example for others to follow, keep being careful about your partnerships & ad disclosures and taking appropriate accountability and you'll keep your integrity and the trust of your audience 💖 Side note: it's sad that this is refreshing to see in this space when it should be the norm! Hey Brooke you did the right thing, I have bought from Temu and I’ve always wondered why it’s so cheap but I looked it up and it’s completely unacceptable how they get workers to make amazing items for barely any money😢 When I was buying the delivery person said on the note that they left it on the front door and took a picture for proof I was a away and when I came back it wasn’t there so I emailed them 15 mins later I went in my garden and found out they threw it right over my fence
You are such a genuine and lovely individual, you did the right thing, and I completely understand. I bought stuff from Temu before because of the cheap options without researching because I wanted to get my cousin a birthday gift. Mistakes are a natural part of life what matters is accepting those mistakes and continuing onward. Nobody knew how shady Temu really was until recently. It’s because of temu’s bad business practices. They will tell you to send codes out to friends and family so they can get a discount and they spam you with emails and then they will take micro transactions from your account automatically without your consent

Brooke, As one of your younger teen audiences I don't feel like you did anything wrong to partner with Temu, and it's so good on you to apologize for everything, giving Temu their stuff back, and even refunding them for the products you did use. Even though you didn't do your research, it isn't your fault that Temu is kind of shady. Keep going and never feel like you aren't a great role model to me and other younger fans!
For people wondering whats wrong with temu. There is alot. They seemingly treat their workers pretty bad. And they are very similar to wosh and shien. The thing i know the most about is them taking your credit card/debit card info and selling it to other people. There have been numerous videos made on here about how people will buy somwthing on temu and then their bank account gets fully emptied the next day. Its just all around very sketchy. I hate that so many youtubers, well known ones, are still working with them/advertising them. I feel like they arent doing theor research. But its really nice that you cancelled yours. Whatever the reasoning was, its nice that your "protecting" in a way your audience that might not do the research on their own before using the app. Just make sure you guys look into websites before you buy stuff off them.

An apology is made up of two parts, owning up to your mistake, and following through with your promise to do better. I have full confidence that you will follow through with your promise to do better, as you’ve already proven that you own up to a mistake, and genuinely are concerned and have removed videos with Temu featured. I trust that you’ve learned a lesson, and the fact you held yourself accountable without excusing yourself is impressive. You trusted that the company would be genuine, and that if someone you knew was so fond of it, how bad could it have been. You were unaware, and ignorance is bliss. I don’t blame you for not knowing, but am extremely pleased that the instant you knew, you terminated the contract, and have apologized, owning up to the mistake. With all the scandals and false accusations and true accusations out there, it truly is hard to know if you think nothing is wrong. If you don’t know the wizard exists, how would you know about the curtain hiding him? The company lied, and wasn’t honest. You trusted them, which isn’t a fault inherently. It’s easy to miss information, and just be unaware of what’s happened. You did the right thing, owned up to it, and have already shown by removing the videos and terminating the contract that you are trying to do better for the future. Be proud of yourself Brooke, as you’ve made a better apology and your actions have shown your attempts to do better are already there. Compared to the scale of other wrongdoings on this platform, yours is fairly minor, yet you treated it with how all apologies should be handled. Colour me impressed, and I know you’ll never let this happen again. The reason is because temu has access to like everything you do on your phone including your name address notifications and text messages and calendars they also don't pay their workers right
