i'm actually using this and it's fantastic hooking up my Switch or PS5 to my laptop. i did have issue with audio in the beginning but i figured it out eventually and no issue when i switched to PS5 - legit plug and play and audio is fine. new fan of your channel! looking forward to binging on your contents and seeing future videos

I originally bought one of these (but without hdmi out and audio ports) for streaming with a secondary pc. I don't stream as much as I thought I would, but it's very useful for when i'm working on a pc without a monitor near by. For how cheap you can find them, they're a game changer.

I got one of these 2 months ago and it has been nice I have had 0 issues with it. What I do for the video is instead of using the video in and out I have it set to mirrior my main monitor so if there is any lag that does come from it I don't see it.

I had one for playing switch games on my PC and it worked great until I misplaced it. The great thing is while I'm doing things like modding a PS3 I can use VLC Player to "stream" the capture device and can bounce between the tutorial and system with ease. Using VLC did require some tweaking with setting the resolution and fps but that's all

Interesting that these cheap capture devices are good enough for most people. But the USB connector is still cursed - as far as I know, USB devices should never use the A connector but instead the B connector. A connectors are only intended for USB host controllers (e.g. computer)

Now a days those cheapie capture cards are just as good as the Elgato etc becuase of components being cheaper and literally they last just a long as a capture card 4k by Elgato most are 1080p though not 4k

If you're on a budget why even get a capture card? If you have a pc you can edit and upload from you can just as easily record from it. Games do indeed run on pc too, not just consoles.

Hey! I own one similar to this, but i get some pretty noticeable screen tearing in my streams. I noticed a little bit here. 3:05 have you noticed much of this? Or was this the exception and not the norm? I'm thinking of trying another one of these or upgrading to the ripjaw, my screen tearing is quite noticeable because of the sensitivity I play on.

Thanks for taking the dip into this world so I don't have to again. Lol I have an older Thunderbolt capture card but doesnt work on any new computers and was $190 for 1080p max -_-

Wait....why are you using a capture card to capture PC when OBS does this on it's own? unless you have a separate rig to record its not needed. In fact both xbox and playstation have the ability to record and transfer for editing. Switch is the only console that doesn't have this feature. You're much better off upgrading your PC than buying a whole new rig for recording and editing. Edit: chances are that if you have an old rig that you are using already that its not powerful enough to really capture or edit anyway (as can be seen from his recorded lag spikes). If you are having problems turn down your graphics settings and just use your main rig. Don't let these companies con you into thinking that you need a capture card unless you have a switch.

I'm confused. If you can record the screen on the laptop, why do you need this device at all? (Yes I did watch the whole video). Why do you need a capture card for twich streaming?

I have a Rx 6750 XT so I don´t think I need a capture card but I do wanna get my GPU workload lesser.
