Theory as to why Perhaps Pirate Jo has a skull on his bandana: He got a head injury when he fell off his ship, and thus when Sir Piggles rescued him, I don't think either of them had much in the way of medical supplies, especially bandages. As a result, Sir Piggles had to improvise medical supplies and used one of Skeletron's banners as a makeshift bandage to clean up the blood and apply pressure to the wound. Pirate Jo hasn't taken it off/traded it out because it helps keep his scalp from getting sunburnt, he doesn't know how to make his own bandana(s)/bandages, or something else.

I really hope you and Sausage always stay friends and do collabs together. Y'all have such a fun chemistry and the audience can tell y'all are having a blast and bounce off eachother's personalities very well. You are both very imaginative, mischivious, very kind hearted, and have a great sense of humor. I love your friendship! On a side note, I love how Joel litterally was questioning the sexuallity of Scott and Joey's characters on his last live stream and we have an answer for Joey, Pirate Joe is piratesexual, attracted to other pirates. Not sure how this little plot will play out, but it might be fun to have another Empire wedding, or perhaps another Empire war if Pirate Joe keeps getting rejected.
