I fight every ticket I get. Especially if you haven't had a ticket in 9 years like you said. I would definitely fight that ticket, high probability it would get dropped or reduced.

I don't know how it is now post covid when everything was by zoom, but years back when I lived in town, just showing up at traffic court looking respectable was often enough to get the ticket tossed out or reduced to practically nothing.

There is no time period in the law. You just have to come to a complete stop (0 mph) so it just requires the vehicle to rock back from the stop. You can beat that by saying the cop said you had to stop for 3 seconds.

Contest the ticket via written letter. If that doesn't work go in and try to fight the ticket, the worst they can do is make you pay the original ticket.

The 3s rule from my understanding is a suggestion. Cops aren’t timing people every time they stop. Therefore I don’t really see how the rule applies because then it’s based on the cops opinion if you stopped long enough. The story sounds a little biased and I’m sorry you had to deal with that crap especially since you made a complete stop and determined it was safe!

A few years ago I got a speeding ticket so I went on a driving course with a bunch of other speeders so I didn't get any points on my licence and all I did was write my name on a form and listen to the guy speak for a while and that was that, but it was worth John 😅 but that was in the UK 🇬🇧

It’s called a “rolling stop” when you don’t completely on a stop sign. You should fight the ticket tho. If the cop doesn’t show up you win automatically.

You need to fight that ticket, from what I read, there is no 3 second rule!!!! Some of these police like to try and have you dance to their beat and not the actual beat of the LAW!! Get a dash cam, that will be your back-up with shady police. You have enough of them, LOL!!!!!

Pay the ticket and go to traffic school to get it off your record. If you fight it in court there is still a chance you'll have to pay and then you are no longer eligible for traffic school and you'll get a point.

Honestly, you should fight it in court. Unless the cop has video footage, it is your word against his whether or not you came to a complete stop. But, I would testify guilty with an explanation. Explain what happened to the judge and ask the judge for a PBJ (Prayer Before Judgment). That will get you a 3 yr probation for the infraction.

Yeah….. don’t fight that one homie. Growing up in LA those are the common tickets because yeah you do have to wait 3 seconds at a stop sign . Even my parents got tickets because they didn’t stop for 3-4 seconds when I was a little kid in Inglewood. They call it a rolling stop. Cops don’t usually give warnings for that oddly, I think they got quotas. But damn man…. LA looks bad. It pains me to see my city like this man on top of being so expensive. I miss home but damn. Guess I’m never coming home..
