I mentioned it in description box but just so I don't have to keep repeating myself. Yes, it needs a remap and I will be booking it in as soon as I can.😊
+PistonHeadChaz I see you are a promotor of the Piramid Plastics equipment. Do you have any coupon to provide to your viewers? I just fell in love with that seat cowl. I want one for my SP :$ Regarding the exhaust, that Akra older model would also be my choice over the new one. That EURO4 one is fat :p In my case I went to SC-Project. I had it on my previous MT-07 and I also loved the quality and price. Better price/quality ration IMO. Keep the good work! :)
Nelson Silva Hey, I'm not a promoter for Pyramid Plastics I was just showing what I got as an update because I haven't shown them on RU-vid yet because I said I would show each mod. :) Yes! SC would be my second choice to Akra. Thank you!
Chaz. That bike is looking the dogs😁👍. Akra all the way for me. Kudos too you for resisting the temptation of the freebies. You gonna have that MT ready just in time for the g.....oh! Is that Jon Snow ❄️
PistonHeadChaz I am sorry! I assumed that because they are using your pictures in the description of the product at their official website. Maybe you should clarify that out with them.. :) Looking forward to watch the videos of those mods!
That set up is proper loud. When going through traffic, people were waving me to pass because it was deafening them . It sounds brill. When you have the ECU done, it's miles better. Great !
New Akrapovič system looks and sounds amazing. Headers already starting to color in a bit no more than you have ran it 😃. Seat cowl cover and low profile screen also look really great. Love these wrenching vlogs 👍
Not surprised at the need to remap. In my day rejetting the carbs was usually needed. I installed a collector on a early 71 Honda 750 4. Sounded almost like the 1964 XKE. I had in the mid 60s. Ran decently too, but setting up 4 carbs was a pain. In those days owners did most of the maintenance.
Yep, crazy how fast things have changed right. I miss the days of modding my ped tbh I won't lie. 🤣 It was so cheap aswell! Top of the range exhaust was about £120 😂
Awesome!! Sounds great! I like that seat cowl and front wind screen too! Nice subtle touches! 👌🏽 Woot woot! Looking forward to the first vlog with the new exhaust!! 😃
@@PistonHeadChaz Yea foreal I agree! Dont know why they made the seat so long and flat but looks 100% better with the cowl! Gives it a nice shape! And the paint looks legit like it came from the factory! 👍🏼
The can is fukun lower, i ground the fuck out of mine n im not a fat bastard and im running full maxton suspension. Clearance is shite on my FZ but the arrow on my MT is spot on.
Good to see a girl handy with the tools and not scared to have a go. Sounds damn good. If your not already wearing ear plugs, then you should. Hearing loss happens quickly and as someone who has developed tinnitus, it's not pleasant.
Hmm was hoping to part ex my 2018 MT-07 for either an MT-09 SP or a Street Triple R this summer. Perhaps if bike shops are able to trade by august it'll still be worth making an order.
Just to add if you have catalyst converter and o2 sensor in I was told you don't need remap.. You have know cat in I believe thats why you remapped .. I have both in and baffle half cut.. Sound is just right and lots of burbble on deceleration.. Still not sure on remapping I don't want bike running lean.. Only had bike couple of days. To do or not to do.. 🤔
If it hasn't been mentioned, you need to give titanium pipes a good clean and wipe down, grease from fingers can leave marks on the pipes as they change colour.
So many fukun armchair experts on this page! The pipes are stainless which is ironic as they stain like fuck. The titanium case on the can gets plastered with chain lube....WTF are fingerprints gonna do to it?
Good choice..I personally feel the Akrapovic is the 2nd best option for the MT09, I rate the Yoshimura R77 the best for the MT09..for the MT07 however, the Akrapovic is definatly top choice..
Acro is a class pipe , your bike is killer , love the shock . Hope you have done something with the fork internals ? I had an early MT09 and fitted a full Termignoni system with Titanium can sounded awsome too , and spat flame like yours they are such good engine's. Got Maxton to revalve the forks new springs and their seals and fitted one of their awsome shocks and it transformed the feel and ride of the bike. Enjoy your bike it is beautiful. Oh still got the Termi and it's unused baffle if any one wants a great exhaust for an MT09.
You've definitely made the right choice here Chaz 👌 some people might sacrifice looks for sound or sound for looks but here with this titanium Akrapovic you definitely have both 🔥🔥 good on you girl 👍🏻
PistonHeadChaz glad to hear it you can't be spoiling a little minta like that 👌that said how is the weather in Manchester today here in Birmingham its beautiful and its supposed to be for the rest of the week so i might still get a cheeky little blast out 🙏🏻
All the right bits in all the right places hun, its going to be a really nice unique ride once you finished it, A+ so far... i just treated my bike to some new side stand springs lol
PistonHeadChaz only sv 650s, covered it all in carbon fibre vinyl when i first got it, it kept miss firing mid bend or going over bumps... turns out the springs on the stand had lost some tension so it was bouncing up and down... i've put loads of mods on it and can't really do anything else. and i'll never sell "Burt" lol its just good at everthing i want out of a bike... happy riding hun ;-)
Nice bike and well you beautiful. Nice your videos and I dream at least to be able to buy the MT07 like the one you had presented in the previous video. Greetings 👍🤩👍
Hello!)) I'm thinking about an exhaust for my moto and I'm thinking about the same one as yours. I'm just a bit confused because most of friends suggesting me the carbon one which is cheaper, lighter and gives bit more power but I don't want to spoil the design of moto and also I don't like how it comes out from the right. The new shorty with carbon finish is heavier, more fat, gives little less power and bit more expensive. If the SC S1 exhaust was the same design as in our moto as in Triumph 765, I would choose that! SC CRT, nice sound but I think I'll have problems with police...)) so can you help me a little? Thank you in advance...))
I have a problem and i need help. I recently bought a 2018 MT09 with a full carbon akrapovic exhaust system on the bike. There are two previous owner before me. The second owner which is the previous owner i bought the bike from said that the bike was installed and tuned by the dealership that the original first owner bought it from. I don’t trust the knowledge of the second owner about the history of the bike. But the bike look brand new around 2000 miles on the odometer when i bought it. My problem is when i was riding the bike and sitting in a stop light and the bike is idling when i give it a little rev from stand still on neutral. The bike would stall from a stand still neutral geared position. The engine would just shut off. The engine would stall from neutral gear and idle about 2 times out of 10 tries (it dose not stall everytime in that situation but only 2/10). I do not know if the dealer even installed the full exhaust and tuned it. I think someone is lying. i think the original owner which is the first owner bought and installed the full akrapovic exhaust without having it tuned but i am just speculating. What should i do? Is it just a tuning problem or could it be something else or much more worse? And the bike already has 2000 miles when i bought it and i guess it was running in that state. Your help would be appreciated. Thanks
PistonHeadChaz yea who knows, i read one guy had the same problem and he called the Yamaha dealer and the dealer said that it would lessen and go away over time. I’m going to try several solution to fix the stalling; throttle body alignment, spark plug, air filter, or a re-tune. Hopefully I’ll get it fixed. I will let you know the results.
1st Class. Nice job. You’ll be setting trees on fire, lol. I made an MT(-10) 2 year review vlog : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nRtQ9l_8yBI.html PS Genuinely laughed at finger jester to the old removed system, lol. Enjoy the Akra goodness 👍
Did you put the cat in this exhaust ?? If not you might want to get this bike re-mapped now as they run really lean to meet euro 4 requirements and can burn out an exhaust valve - I have a K&N in mine with the full Akra system and no cat and it was really lean before i fitted the air filter and exhaust but after a remap it pulls like a train with a really flat torque curve ... would think about it if I was you.
Thanks for another enjoyable video. It was good to see you working on your bike with your dad. And the flames from the unburnt fuel hitting the hot exhaust were awesome! Will you need to get the engine remapped now? Also you mentioned your dad has a MT-09 Tracer. Have you ridden it? Does it handle very differently than your SP? Sorry for so many questions. I like the look of your bike but appreciate the practicality of the Tracer. So hard to decide between the two. Ahhhh!
Yeah, I will take it for a remap asap.🙂 I haven't ridden it properly which does sound crazy I know haha. I rode it up and down this small road but I need to take one out. I really like them I think they look amazing for the "touring" stuff. If I were to go for something like that it would definitely be a Tracer or if I had lots of money a Multustrada 🤣.
Gotta say that sounds mint. Bet it's even better in person. Will it pass most track day noise levels? That's the annoying thing with my bike is I have to keep the stock exhaust because my local track is only 102 db
It will pass with the baffle in yes. :) It's shame track days have noise tests.. I think that's why I love Anglesey so much because there isnt one haha.
Chaz, do you mind me asking; are you a Taurean? Your rejection of free exhausts in favour of the quality one you actually want suggests Taurus cos we like quality regardless of whether it costs £1 or £100. I also love that you’re so practical and guess your dad’s been an inspiration as a fellow biker. Can’t wait til I’m back on the road next spring, Millennium has a gleaming FJR just begging me to buy it!
