I used to shoot solely s-cinetone on my FX3 because shooting log/grading was a bit intimidating. Switched to slog3 now for everything and I've not looked back. Particularly like the flexibility you get with the base iso's, especially since I do a fair bit of event work where lighting can be varied. I just throw on a rec709 conversion lut in post and fine tune from there. Works a charm and gives me a lot more control over the look, more dynamic range and higher base iso's. Love your work man!
Use should get the zoom f6 that way you can tie in all your audio to that.. and now that you have the fx6 you don’t need no tentacle sync because the fx6 outputs the time code!
Yo welcome to the the Sony fx6 family!! Lol love that setup. I cherry pick from Mayfield and Cam Mackey. How do you like the atmos monitor? I used it for a week but I got annoyed because it took so long to boot up. I ended up buying the SmallHD 502 bright.
The Atomos does the job but I prefer SmallHD. They are just too pricey right now and the atomos is doing the job for now. If I upgrade Ill def be looking at SmallHD. And thanks!
Corporate in house guy here. On our FX3’s we always use Cine EI slog 3. I have sometimes used s cinetone tho when people wanted quick quick quick returns
@@Stolishadji it’s definitely useful, I always find myself still tweaking the colors in post tho even with cinetone. So to me I just always use SLOG anyways
I'm still not decided I get FX6 as my A-cam and downgrade my A7IV to b-cam. OR get another A7IV or get ZV-E10 II as b-cam. I hope this year sony introduces FX6 mark II, so either original FX6 get cheaper or the new one would be a must have :D.
I still love the A7IV. Its holds its own against the FX6 and FS7. FX6 is a great investment if you can afford it. If not, I am sure you can make magic with the gear you have!
Slog 3 in camera and put one of our LUTs on in post. Good choice using the a7IV as a B-cam versus using the FS7. The colors are going to match way better if you’re using the same color profile on both cameras.
