Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture. With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

What sets your videos apart from all the other "farmer" videos is Becky's superb editing skills. So many of the other vids are disjointed, filled with obnoxious cover music and just not edited very well. Way to go Becky!

Spacers are there to increase the bolt length enough to get a "stretch" on the bolt when you torque it. The stretch is what keeps the bolt from coming loose! I actually designed the tooling that makes the bolts and spacers! Made in the USA! Made in Wisconsin actually!

Spacers are used so a longer bolt can be used so there is more stretch length for more tension.
@donsnilner1657
@donsnilner1657 Год назад
Zack the reason for long bolts and spacers is at spec torque the longer bolt will stretch more and provide a higher clamping force learned that in Cat service training.

Had a dual fall off my combine this harvest and dealer had to come out and put it back on, sheared all the Bolts off and they said it was likely that the wheel studs were loose from the paint on the mating surface of the wheel chipping away. They said they always grind the paint off on new machines or new wheels and they don't have any issues after that. Just something to take into consideration!
@crandonborth
@crandonborth Год назад
Regarding the wheel spacer on the wheel bolts... that so the bolt can be 1.5” longer than needed to stretch and provide more clamp load on the rim. (When properly torqued)

Born and raised in Wisconsin, can confirm that 15 degrees F is "balmy" weather. My brother and I used to ride our bikes through slush and snow wearing shorts and tshirts when the temperature was only 40 degrees out. It had been so cold for so long that 40 felt like a heat wave :)
@richardlug6139
@richardlug6139 Год назад
Sure 40 degrees in the spring time is a heat wave, like you said shorts and t-shirt weather. Even 15 degrees with no wind is is nice in late winter, but 15* in the fall is dam cold especially when this fall as we have had a warm one here in the northland.
@SkyhawkCaptain
@SkyhawkCaptain Год назад
@@richardlug6139 I agree it is bitterly cold at that temp, especially with the wind cutting through your clothing. We had a wood stove for heat and my brother and I spent many miserable hours trudging through the snow and ice to haul in from the woodshed.

The spacer is there to create extra length for a longer bolt. The longer the bolt the more stretch under torque the bolt will have. The more stretch it has under load the less likely it will back off and run loose. But for some reason Deere struggles with combine duals staying on 🤦‍♂️
