I've been Natural since 2009, due to an Autoimmune Disorder that causes my hair to break/fallout with Relaxers. That being said, I understand when you grow out the short cut and it gets to that awkward stage. I noticed that many YT that go back to relaxers feel they have to do an "apology video". Sis, that's YOUR HAIR and YOUR BUSINESS! You don't owe anyone an explanation. As Black women we are blessed to have the hair for the versatility we do! On occasion, I dye my hair and for some odd reason, I CAN wear a Jherri Curl without hair damage...but not relaxers..go figure🤪. I also wear wigs and Braids...when I can find someone that won't snatch my edges! Your hair looks Great either way..just do YOU! 😉💗
Yeah honestly I was thinking about cutting my hair or going back to relaxing it … guess the long natural hair is not for me lol and don’t have patience for the nappy 4c hair
Did the chop also. I like my hair short and straight, so I relaxed also. I am happy to see im not alone with the relaxer and cut look! Love the pixie cut look also!
This is why I'm back! I did the pixie life until I was 25. Grew it out and loved it but over processed it and ruined my hair. Natural since 2015 but just cannot get the hang of what products, what styles etc. It's not easy and no matter how many times I cut to start over my hair is always unhealthy again by the time it gets to my nape. Maybe I'll try again but for now I'm going back to relaxers and my pixie bc it's such a grown and sexy style and easy to maintain.

I thought putting the relaxer on the middle first and back would help to avoid over-processing the front edges since that's the most delicate part of your hair?
It really depends on the textures of your hair; meaning which part of your hair relaxes first to last. My hair is straighter in the crown and middle of the back so I do those next to last before my edges. My sides are very thick so I do those first.
