Hi Claudia, thank you so much for this video. I didn't know how to check to see if my Dr Pen was authentic, thanks for sharing. I have the A1 and I really like it. It's basic, but it does what I need it to do. I really like that I can change the depth depending on where I am using it. I'm still new to this, I've only done it twice, but I really feel that I am doing something good for my skin. It felt very strange at first, but I'm getting used to it. Another great video 💞 you look amazing Claudia 🥰 I love the simplicity of the Dr. PEN AND the LOW NOISE, BUT I am so glad I managed to order the Derminator. 4 Dr.Pens gave up before I could finally switch. I think each time the problem was that liquid went through the cartridge into the pen and damaged the motor. After the 1st dead Pen I tried my best to never hold it with the pins upwards, but even that didn't help. The derminator really is LOUD, but I am glad that this kind of damage can't happen with it. Also I had the needless of Dr pen shooting out all the way, it just ignored the setting, that happend 3 times. Wondering if other's had similar complications.

Hi Annie, thank you for your kind comment. I wait at least one week after medical micro needling to do cosmetic needling. If I feel that my skin still needs a bit more time, I wait longer. But if your skin is ok with it, you could cosmetic needle 3 times a month and then medical once a month. I hope this helps xx

I had the original Derminator and now I have the Derminator 2. I very rarely use it because it is so bulky and cumbersome. As you mentioned, it’s also very loud. UntiI I watched this video I was under the impression that Dr. Pen was very expensive ($500+), But I see with your code it’s less than $200. I am definitely going to purchase it. I've got an a6. I Love it for cosmetic needling. If I'm going deeper, I use a stamping motion so I don't scratch my skin. Its a shame about the derminator because it's a decent machine. I've noticed mine has really slowed down if I try to needle my legs or arms. It's about 7 years old now.

Hi Debbie, I def. prefer a mechanical device over a roller. First off I think it is less painful. It is also as you mentioned, so much more versatile. And you only have to replace the cartridges rather than the whole roller. I think a roller is a goo place to start, but once you know you will continue microneedling, a mechanical device has more advantages. I hope this helps Wishing you a wonderful week as well xx

Dear Claudia - Thank you for another great review. You’re enticing me to get my M8 out of the closet for some Nano needling. I have both the Derminator (which I actually discovered thanks to you 😊) and the M8. I personally feel that the Derminator is definitely a more powerful machine, and therefore allows the needles to move faster in and out of the skin. I also believe that the needles are a smaller gauge? Not sure on that. I use the Derminator for medical microneedling exclusively, but may reincorporate the M8 for cosmetic or nano needling in between. I can’t wait to hear your review on the comparison between the two. @@claudiaglows I actually started with the A6 and then ‘upgraded’ to the M8. The M8 has finer gauge needles and is supposed to be a better machine for medical needling - as you want the deep needling without causing “damage” to the skin. This is what attracted me to the Derminator. I watched several reviews form people that have both, and all seem to have the same consensus. Many also mentioned that they feel that the needles on the Dr Pen don’t always penetrate to the depth indicated - but I can’t personally speak on that. I am always a but hesitant about things from China anyway - work conditions, banned ingredients, etc. The Derminator website is a bit strange, but from what I can tell, they may have had some bad experiences with charge backs. Unfortunately in todays world, there are many scammers online. I had no trouble at all, and the unit arrived in SoCal from the Czech Republic in about two weeks. I have only used the unit once so far, but loved it. It is loud, and tethered to the wall, but for ‘medical’ needling, I want the sturdiest safest machine 🙃 I look forward to your opinion on it, once you use the Dr Pen cosmetically or medically. However so many of my viewers have told me about the bad experiences they had with the company and I had some myself. While like you, I am not crazy about products from China, I also do not want to support a company that treats their customers poorly. It is really a shame, because they do have such an awesome device... Lots of love xx

I appreciate this video. How would you compare medical micro needling results to the Dr Pen you are using? ( I go to an aesthetician for micro needling every few months and wonder if I should try this instead)

Hi Christina, so medical microneedling just refers to the depth of penetration. Any thing 0.5mm or deeper is considered medical microneedling, whether done in a salon or at home. And you can def. medical microneedle with a dr pen. So yes, you could do your own treatments at home with this device or even a derma roller. The nice thing about this device is that you can choose the depth, versus a roller you would have to get several different ones for different depths. I hope this makes sense. Hi Gabriele, so in this video I nano needled. which is not really needling. The cartridges do not have needles but little cones and they do not penetrate into the skin but merely separate the stratum corneum. So no depth, I hope this makes sense x

Hi, I use Design by Health NAC. They are 900mg capsules and I got them on Amazon At the beginning I opened the capsules and emptied out a bit until I got used to it. Now I take the full capsules. But it can cause some stomach upset until you get used to it. xx

Hi Erica Yes, I actually talked about it briefly in my last video. I have been using it daily and LOVE it. I do find it quite rich and nourishing, but one of my viewers told me that while she loves it, she needs to put oil on top since her skin is super dry. For me, the cream is enough and I have been using it morning and night. I actually reached out to the company, after using and loving some of their products, to ask for a discount code. Hi Cerise Yes, you can actually nano needle your lips as well as under the eyes. You can also do regular micro needling under the eyes, I would stick to 0.25mm. Personally I do not needle my lips, but technically you could, I would probably also stick to 0.25 for that. xx

Hi Claudia great video. I was wondering about this device vs the one you have , since its easier to get here in US . I was reading reviews on it on Amazon and it had some reviews that after certain time, it becomes not too accurate adjusting needle length. So that stopped me from purchasing. I am going to look again. Nothing to do. We have major hurricane coming. Thank God its going to west, not South Florida, but still, we dont know yet how far it turns, but floodings and power outages can happen even if we like 4 hrs away. I remember when we lived in Hawaii park and had to worry about hurricanes You know, I have not used the device long enough to have any problems, but it’s know quite a few people who use Dr pens and have for a long time and love them. Hello Claudia- I love your channel & have been following you for quite sometime. I have purchased that exact Dr Pen you are showing here, however have not used it yet. I see in their little pamphlet it offers 3 types of NANO cartridges. RNANO(round shape), SNANO/3DNANO(square shape) & 5DNANO. I have no idea which ones to order. Yes, in that video I used different devices for each form of micro needling, since the derminator did not let me nano needle and I was too lazy to use it for cosmetic needling. But now with the Dr Pen, I can do all 3, which is great. And yes, I do like the Dr pen better than the Nano roller. I did not like that I had to use it in a down ward motion, seems that is a bit counter productive. I hope you are having a wonderful day, stay save xx

@@sueanacker2607 I like to use a cartridge with fewer needles for medical micro needling. On the derminator it was a 12 pin, the dr pen a 16 pin. Cartridges with more needles like a 36, I prefer for cosmetic needling. But it is tuff to compare it with a dermaroller, since the mechanics are different. But you can use any cartridge, aside from the nano ones, at any length. I hope this makes sense xx

HI Maria, yes you can Cosmetic needle the day after nano needling if you do not have sensitive skin. Personally I would wait a day though. Hi Sonja, thank you for your kind words. Your experience with the company is one of the reasons I do not feel comfortable promoting the derminator. I just did my first medical needling with the Dr Pen. Here is what I think: I do think it is a great device, super easy to use and very versatile. However I think that the motor on the derminator is a bit stronger. So what I do with the dr pen, when going deeper as in medical micorneedling, I use a stamping motion rather than a gliding or even little circles, just to be on the safe side. I think if you do not mind stamping instead of gliding when going deeper than the Dr pen is just as good, without the hassle. I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have more questions xx xx

Hi Claudia, I finally did microneedling at home using the derminator 2. I have high pain tolerance and did .50mm and was fine. Hopefully the machine noise while using it scare me more than anything. I was a bit nervous. I think I did pretty well for my first time at home . I did order their hyaluronic serum but used mine instead which was the same one you use as the consistency was thicker. Im wondering if their hyaluronic is good enough for medical microneedling. Have you checked theirs? It did come on sterile sealed bottle. I used cooper peptides afterwards as I don't use human stem cells. I also used the led mask right after and it felt absolutely wonderful. I really felt the difference on my face while using. Are there plant based growth factors. What about using one cell DNA repair cream after medical microneedling, have you tried it that way?

I am so happy to hear you did your first session with the derminator and it was so successful! Great job. Yes, it is loud, isn't it ;) Glad to hear you did the LED after, that is such a good treatment after medical micorneedling. I think that their HA will be fine for medical microneedling. I have not tried it, but that is what they advertise it for. As far as what to use after, you know I always say that high molecular weight HA is best, or something that is ok to be used after medical micorneedling. We have those channels open for a while and we want to make sure to not use something that could cause a reaction. I have of course tried different things and was fine, but you might react to it. So I do think it is best to stick to simple or things that we know can be used after medical microneedling and use the more fancy stuff next day. There are def. plant stem cells. But again, I would wait with anything like that until the next day, unless is specifies that it can be used after MM I hope this helps xx

Unfortunately, if micorneedling is not recommended with psoriasis, then this device would not be good, since it is a microneedling device. Hi, thank you for being here and for your kind words. This was really more of a first impression and I have not used it long enough to know if I prefer it over the derminator. Let me play around with it a bit more and I will let you know. But I do think it has quite a few advantages over the derminator, one being easier to get. I also love how quite it is and that it can be used without plug. I am sure you can find Dr Pen in Canada, but if I were you I would reach out to the company I got this one from and ask them if they either ship to Canada or if they have someone reputable there. Because as I mentioned, many of the sites are a bit shady. I can also reach out to them and ask and get back to you. Let me do that right now :) xx

What I said was that I have not used the Dr Pen long enough to know for sure if I like it better than the derminator, but it def. has its advantages. For one it is easier to get and less potential hassle with the company. I love how quite it is and that it can be used without a plug. Ultimately they achieve the same thing, so I think it just comes down to personal preference. I just reached out to the company and they said that they do not have a Canadian website (they are working on it but do not know how long it will take) but you can order from the site listed and they will ship it to Canada. I got a little confused there because I thought you said vitamin C is not a good choice for micro needling at home with any kind of skin piercing device. because it could cause granular in your skin. Hi Nana, as I mention, nano needling does not pierce the skin. It does not involve needles. It just separates the very superficial cells and allows for better product penetration You are correct, you do not want to use vitamin c when entering the dermis, as in medical micro needling

Hi La Rayne, that is a bummer that they no longer sell the cartridges for the 1. Personally I have never had any problems with bend needles. I do think that the derminator and the needles are great quality, but you are right, the owner is a bit strange. I have gotten many comments and emails form viewers who told me they had a bad experience with the company. They were either band from buying a derminator, their order got canceled for now known reason or they got insulted. It is really a bummer, because he has a great device, but I do not really want to support a company that does not treat their customers well. xx

You can going very shallow, but I would not go past .25 mm with ascorbic acid

Hi, I actually used to have Rosacea as well and I do believe that microneedling has actually made my skin more robust. So it might be worth a try. Just go slowly and carefully.

I’m a little confused. Dr Pen says ( there’s are YT tutorials) nanoneedling should be performed at 0.25 mm , and you do it at 2.5 mm. Why? Looking forward to hearing from you

Hi, I tried it at 0.25 and the cartridge did not shoot out enough to touch my skin. Then after doing a bit of research I learned to put it on 2.5mm But maybe 0.25mm works well for you. If you try it, please keep me posted

@@claudiaglows I think I’m not going to try nano . I’ll stick to cosmetic and medical although being as new as I am I have some concerns with them as well. I’ve only done medical once at 0.5-1.5 and cosmetic needling twice at 0.2-.025 and I’m a bit confused. After the first cosmetic needling I felt so … “injured” I refrained from even thinking of dr pen until yesterday when I did my homework again and did cosmetic n. again, 3 weeks later. Ive used the stamping technique with cosmetic n. With medical ( around 2 months ago) I used the circular one. And maybe it’s the very technique itself that is either less or more effective or my memory isn’t as vivid but it feels like cosmetic need longs have been “stronger” than this one medical with so much longer needles that I did around 2 months ago… puzzling, isn’t it?

it is probably the cartridge you used for cosmetic needling. I like to use a 32pin one. I have once used a 16 pin for cosmetic and my skin was very sensitive after as well, vs with a 32 pin that does not happen. I use the 16 pin for cosmetic needling. @@frankparoutoflovefci571

Yes, with nano you will be OK the next day, even a couple hours after

One thing that prevents me from trying it is their website, the same you used. I reverse Google image searched their review photos (because I never immediately trust those), and all of the photos came from reviews for completely different products.

Hi Elissa, that is interesting. I have had quite a few personal interactions with them at this point and have found their customer service incredible and have not been disappointed with their products (all I got so far is the M8 and I just ordered more cartridges) But I am not sure what the reason for the the mix up in reviews and photos. It is quite challenging to know where to get Dr Pens from, since there is not authorised dealer. If you find a source you trust, please share it with us x

Hi, you mean setting it on 2.5mm? That is just to get the nano needles out of the cartridge, but they do not penetrate the skin. If it was a regular needle cartridge it would be quite deep. xx

@@claudiaglowsit’s a little confusing. You were using original nano needle cartridge so why 2.5 mm anyways? Dr Pen YT tutorials say 0.25 mm for nanoneedling cartridges they sell.

I fell that at 0.25 the cartridge does not shoot our far enough to touch my skin. You could try it at 0.25 and see if it works for you. Please keep me posted @@frankparoutoflovefci571

Thank you Claudia. I just received my initial Sculptra injections a few days ago. I too experienced hollowness of my lower cheek area..actually overall volume loss from what I believe natural aging process and working out again. I have 2 more days of massage...5 minutes..5×day and for 5 days. Hoping for the best. Thank you for you're awesome response!
