I Finally Try TRANSPARENT Spray Paint! (For Murals!) 

I've been loving these studio videos so much. Decorations, renovations and collaborations! So sick!

Ego's art reminds me of the movie Pan's Labyrinth. The surrealistic horror aspect of his art is right up there with the imagery in this movie. If you haven't seen it, you need to. It is a cinematic gem.

That turned out fantastic! 😍 I loved watching you two bounce ideas off each other and coming up with such a great story for the mural. Hmm... I think the only way it could have gotten even a tiny bit better (maybe) is if you could get some custom printed transparent window film to continue the art into the window but still keep it able to be seen through. Except, if you do that you'd be able to see it from the outside. If you're careful though, it could just look like stained glass. Or maybe just get transparent window film and paint over it with glass paint instead? ...Actually that idea could work as a separate project too by layering the painted window film in thin frames. Sort of like cell art done in animation or the acrylic panel art, except lighter since it's on a film. Might be interesting. 🤔

Wow, Peter, this mural is so dope! The way you and Ego meshed your skills and different art styles is amazing! One doesn't overpower the other they just meld together to make an inspiring work of art! I used to teach and paint only with acrylics for several years. I knew about transparent paint but I knew that you could get away with a basecoat of an opaque color in the same hue with your final layer over the top would work. If you choose the color by itself, like most reds, you'll end up with 107, 329 layers to get the true color! Then, I changed mediums about eight years ago and started watercolor. It was so hard the first couple of paintings because most watercolors are transparent! I had to learn pigment numbers and their transparency, and if the pigment is fugitive, and granulation, just to name a few. That really opened my eyes, but I've never gone back to acrylics with one exception. I rarely use spray paint, but knowing there's transparent spray paint out there really sparks my creativity! You did a marvelous job learning this new art supply! Keep up the dope paintings! P.S. Sorry for the novella comment! 😢

That mural is beautiful. I can't say you missed an opportunity with including that window in the design because your results were so dang amazing, but I couldn't help but think of that window as a playing card shaped portal that could have been releasing a ghostly face card. I only thought of this as I saw how bright the light was coming through at the end. Do you have any more walls with outside windows? 😁

Dude how often do you paint? Do you take breaks? How long are your breaks? What artist have you borrowed from? Do you use retarder to blend your paint? Are there any paint tools that you often use that don’t get mentioned in your videos? I have so many important questions!!

Ohhhhh i just got an idea! you know then them BIG lego blocks... make a wall out of them like 3ft x 3ft & paint just the whole front in a color with Plastic paint first to get a good layer to stick (sand first all that) then paint one of ur characters on there! idk why but i think that would be cool.. could also go for the blocks center blue, next layer red, next yellow etc.. then the back looks good, and the last outter edge would be all one color. then if u wanted to you could screen print that painting you do on the blocks, onto blocks for use then we have to put them together like a puzzle & we can have a little wall with your painting!!

When I was in high school I painted two murals in the school. The first one was huge and took me weeks to design and paint. The second one took me less than an hour and I only did it to kill time on the last day of school. Years later I went back to visit and discovered that they'd painted over my huge mural with solid blue wall paint, but the other one that I knocked out in under an hour was still there. :P

Transparent colors are really useful. You have to be careful not to overuse them, because it tends to become dirty pretty fast.
