Good luck with the 959 build Keith! The chassis is a joy to build, and a truly unique design..... But the body/decals are an absolute mission to do to a high standard mate..... a real challenge for even the most seasoned of Tamiya modellers. I've done 3 now, and it's still not got any easier! The combination of the two tone colours, along with the intricate nooks and crannies of the body especially at the rear end make painting this shell on the inside a real headache to say the least! The fact that it's as thin as tracing paper, and so fragile to really doesn't help matters either. The red and gold decal stripes will fight you all the way, especially the gold one which has a foil type finish and is virtually impossible to get layed down without air bubbles on the rear spoiler and front wings. (you can even see bubbling up on these decals in the original Tamiya guide books from back in the day!) But, as with all challenging projects in this hobby, the sense of satisfaction once complete is overwhelming.... it really is a thing of beauty once built! Be extremely gentle when screwing the shocks into the front and rear wishbones when you build the kit, they are as brittle as glass and always fracture and split, same goes for screwing into the rear hubs. If you plan on running any of your 959's, aluminium wishbones and hubs are essential. These parts were inherently weak back in the day, and with 30+ years of ageing the ABS plastics just crumble! I once had one of those motor cases...won it on eBay and then months down the line threw it back up on eBay and sold it. those 959's are really something!

You were lucky with the 959 body! I had a NOS Super Champ body vanish in the mail, before the RERE came out. I would like to know what happens to all my lost treasures over the years..... Can't wait to see the 959 come together. I have 2 basket cases , 959s, that need to be restored and I have TBG bodies for each. Yeah, I'm not paying $450++ for an original body, No Thank You!!
Porshe goodness. Is that car concidered the holy grail of tamiya? I can vaguely remember it in the old tamiya rc catalogue from the 80s.I imagine its about the time of release and what it represented is that correct?
Thanks for mentioning me I lost that part it didn't break it just fell off didn't notice it. I had a Tamiya Tuesday but the guy who was helping me get it on my channel said it was getting too difficult to do his and mine and I couldn't actually get that help on a regular basis to do it I hope I can do it again but I don't know when. I wasn't sure that you paid attention to me the a lot on other people's channels.
Everything I purchase online I write down on post-it notes... So I know when, where, what, how much I may have ordered.. Otherwise I may forget.. and thats not even with me diving into that rabbit hole of buyee..😳
