After seven weeks of hard work, I have officially completed the first draft of Operation Ark. Operation Ark is a series of interconnected sci-fi short stories about humans surviving the nuclear apocalypse on space stations that are secretly genetic test facilities!
While there are plenty of rewrites and editing sessions ahead before I eventually publish this book, this is a huge milestone. Not only have I completed this draft quite quickly, but I must say the quality of this first draft is relatively high!
My next step is leaving this draft alone for a full month before I come back to edit it! I think it is important to let a draft sit before you jump right into it.
