Your Mother-in-law is awesome! Those chocolate covered macadamia nuts sound awesome. Going to google them, couldn’t read it when you showed the address. I’ll find them. Those tassel things are quite easy to do and there beautiful and you can make them so fancy. I’m taking a break from crocheting for a bit and going to get my sewing machine out. I love sewing, as much as crocheting. I’m going to make some French pillowcases! Then some garments. Glad you’re feeling better! Those baby sandals are so awesome and sun hat to match awesome, can’t wait to see the whole set! You take care and get rest when needed. Can’t wait til Tuesday! ❤🤗🙏
Happy you're doing better. Loved the little flip flops. It's adorable. Lucky you. The boom box and all those sewing magazines you got. That candy factory is located on the island I live on. Glad you like them. Continue to take care and get well soon. Your daughter too. Aloha 🌺
Cute flip flops! I don't know what sewing machine you have but different materials need different needles - denim, cotton, stretchy material all use different needles. So you may be able to use your machine. I also got back into sewing & started with simple projects to build skills. I made masks during lock down and I've made many cloth napkins using Joann remnant fabric, or fat quarters from Walmart or Dollar store or Joann. There are you tube tutorials on hemming jeans - I just did it recently and it wasnt that hard. Great to see you! 😊
I started sewing when I was 9 years old and made a lot of my own clothes. I always enjoyed sew. I don’t sew anymore partly because I don’t have space to set up my sewing machine and I’m more into crochet. I do miss sewing though. Good luck with your sewing journey. 🧶💜🙏🏻
Just an idea - Use a sheet as a backing. It makes it easier as it will be one piece, will be able to launder well, depending on what is chosen it may also be more economical as well. I have also made curtains out of sheets too - they come out very good. Just a thought.
To hem heavy material like denim you will need a different needle for your machine. My mom used to always hem things for me, but she has been in the hospital for nearly a year now.
