Congrats on finishing the draft! I hit 50k yesterday and think I've got another 15k to 20k to go before my draft is done. Planning on continuing to write the rest of the month and see how close I can get to the end.

Congratulations! I've abandoned mine - but we had to shop for an event (I do this badly and it takes multiple shopping trips) and travel to London from Scotland for a family wedding. We've family visiting us this weekend in Scotland. It's been hectic personally. I hope to revisit my WIP towards the end of the month.

Haha, no insulation in the walls was not just a "southern" or Texas thing -- it was that way EVERYWHERE for houses built in the 1950's-1960's (and earlier). Our house in Springfield (and all the houses built in 1962 in Ravensworth) had NO insulation in the walls. [In fact, we had that blown-in insulation added to the bedroom walls because they were just too cold and the windows (and sometimes the walls) dripped with condensation in the winter.] Why was there no insulation?? Because gas heat cost PENNIES back then, and no one envisioned that there would ever be a day when you couldn't just turn on the heat as high or for as long as you wanted to. Those were the days! 😃

We looked for one of those blown-in insulation companies when we first moved in and it's like they don't exist down here! I remember I found one place that would do it, but then we had all the electrical mess and had to focus on that first.
