WOW. This is my house and you somehow tuned right into what I would like! Taking down the wall to the kitchen would be SO good because the space just isn't big enough with how it's configured now. You even managed to give my kids bedroom colors they would like! This is a beautiful job and I was cheering on your decisions the whole time lol. Thank you so much! I'm going to show my family when they get home haha
As someone that's currently renovating his own home; I have some advice for whenever you consider to renovate: - save enough money to do big things at once. For example, if you want new flooring in the next few years, it's better to do it while it's in reno. - have your plumbing checked BEFORE renovating. Often old plumbing needs to get replaced putting your budget on a blast. If you have them checked before hand, you won't have a nasty surprise. Same for electric wires. - try to keep your plumbing as much as where it already is. Recolating plumbing costs a LOT of money.
Yay! I’m so glad you saw it and liked it! Thanks for submitting, I had heaps of fun. Also that’s amazing the kids colours are actually something they would like 🤣❤️👍🏼 reno or not it’s a lovely home 🏡 xx
That’s so cool! Let’s have a series : “Dream Home Decorator in real life” 😂 It could be a cute idea , jumping here and there on the gallery and renovate buildings! 💕
I love how Deli begins conservative then is like, just knock down this wall and add a deck! 😂 Anyone who has ever built their home in the Sims then renovated it has started out saying “I’m just going to do a tiny reno” then spends 100k simoleons. It’s so relatable.
Architect Comment: love it, opening up the floor plan was a good choice, the only thing I would have done, is not have the toilet link with the kitchen, I would have left it as a storage/mud room. 💝
I came to say this too. I'm not an architect but in NZ I think we have a building law that says there needs to be 2 doors/corners between a bathroom and a kitchen. Something like that. But totally love the build!
I love this! Definitely needs to be a new series. Maybe people who submit can put in the description whether they want it to be a realistic Reno or dream Reno. I think that would help Deli with the decision making. She was trying soooo hard to be kind with every single decision 😅
Deli!! This was my idea I commented to you! I was amazed with how beautiful your interior decorating is and wanted you to come give my house some life/inspiration. Please do my house in the future! And make this a series!! I’m so excited your doing it! 😆❤️
Such a fun video! I find it interesting how all the simmers i watch make on suite bathrooms. It's NOT a thing at all in my country, maybe if you're like veryyy rich. But all bathrooms are just like for everyone here and never connected to a bedroom. Always interesting with trends in architecture and design.
Same, I would say the standard here is one bathroom/floor. Maybe a half on one floor and a full on the other, depending on size of the house and when ut was built.
Ohhhh, really? Where do you live? I'm from the states but live in Belize, and it's more common than not to have an en suite for the main room, less so for the other rooms. In old homes, there are generally not any en suites, and sometimes the whole house then shares one bathroom!
I am currently renovating and this reno isn’t ridiculous by IRL standards. Now adding a room can be expensive as well as taking the wall down between the kitchen since more than likely load bearing (based on the orientation of the roof). But this looks fantastic and honestly could be realistic!! Great job!
I think if you had a fairly unlimited budget, this could totally be doable IRL, I agree! I think you'd just need a support beam across the ceiling to open up that wall, for sure...expensive, but doable. I think overall the house kept it shell and integrity which I love!
@@Pastel00Peach absolutely agree!! I just took the wall out between part of my kitchen and living room. It didn’t cost much but I am fortunate enough to be able to do it myself.
One more comment: Definitely think this should be a series! I think that when the houses are uploaded, the user lists whether they want it to be a budget renovation or if money doesn't matter.
I built my family’s home a couple months ago! I got it as accurate as possible, but I without the option of “half tiles” when building, the scale is slightly off 🤦🏼♀️ but I was so proud of it!
In order to take the wall down it has to be a non-supporting wall. Also, it is more cost effective to keep water and gas lines where they are. So putting the bathroom on the opposite side of the wall the sink is would be best. In order to make it fair everyone would change rooms. one teen would get the new room and parents' old room goes to the other giving the parents the bigger room and the teens a more equal size ones
I feel like.... This needs to be approached more like a shell challenge. There aren't many people who have the ability to spend $50k+ (or whatever currency you are from) on house renovations. Or... Do like 2-3 versions of the house. A shell challenge, some renos and then just going full out.
I love this idea for a series. I would maybe ask subscribers to choose an option - if they want a redecoration, a realistic renovation, or the deli special, where you get to do whatever you want. 💕
This was so much fun! I think it people could choose how realistic the renovation would be? I'm definitely leaving the video wanting you to do my home next!
I’d love to see this turn into a series! It was fun. It would be great for people to include what kind of styles they like in the description and constrains and budgets. And if they want deli to keep the renovation realistic or just go all out!
Love the concept, would love to see more of these. One thing to keep in mind is that appliances and bathroom fixtures can't be moved around that easily in real life, you need the right connections for power and water supply. So changing the door to the bathroom might not work right were the tub was connected before... :D
Ohhh I would love it to become a series💜 the ones who upload their houses could tell you in the description if they would like you to stay true their house and stay on a budget or if they would like to get their dream house from you and what it should contain (style, how many bedrooms and bathrooms, office etc)
My husband and I bought our house last year after renting it for 7 years and are so eager yet dreading the Reno. I made a renovation version of it on the sims. I’ve been wanting to create a current version of it though and this gives me motivation to do so now!
I'd love you to renovate the home we live in. It's from 1907 so it's one of them long skinny homes with 3 floors...maybe I'll try and design it best in Sims if the game will let me lol...I'll tag you if I get around to doing it. Right now it's fall and Halloween is coming so my home looks like a realm of magic house..theme this year is witches haha! Definately keep doing these so fun to watch. Hugs girl xo ❤️
This is very realistic for a reno where they’re asking for an extra room and bathroom. The client would have some thinking to do on if they wanna save money and have a bathroom by the kitchen or splurge for adding it somewhere else
If people also make their family with traits, likes/dislikes, careers etc plus notes about hobbies/other details, it would make decorating more personal. They wouldn't have to look like them, but ages, personalities and interests would help with design decisions.
I think moving plumbing is probably the only part of this that is maybe too much extra cost... Also maybe the oven if it is a gas oven and has a fan leading outside? Not sure if gas ovens are very common in the US? maybe a loft conversion would be something to think about in the future!
You should definitely make this a series! I would totally watch all of it! I submitted my grandparent's house when you initially posted about this challenge, I even used a little CC from the House of Harlix ORJANIC pack that you reviewed a while back! I look forward to seeing more of this!
I agree, give wardrobes to everyone, the BG version could just not come with the extra gameplay the EP version comes with. I would also like more 1x2 options and even some 1x1 options added
I'm in the process of making mine and it's been wild. I had a depression hoard in my living room and captured the look of that by just covering the whole place in different storage boxes. I have a version circa 2019 and one updated to today, but I'd love Deli to do this type of thing again
I used to be so confused by that approach of just knocking down walls left and right in building, then I remembered that walls in the US at least, and most likely also in Australia, are essentially cardboard and not solid brick like my central European house
You should do a challange, like random colour generator, but it generates the colour on specific items. Like you get the colour of the fridge and it's yellow, then the fridge has to be yellow, if there aren't any, you get no fridge
This series is fun! I have floor plans but no Sims >.< I would love to see a real architect react to this, that would be funny! I wonder how much they would panic or yell or something. LOL, put in a weed for greenery, LOL
Cool idea but I think the redesign should be somewhat realistic with a set sun budget and the submissions should be requesting certain things sorta like a better version dream home decorator
That was well done! Alot of older houses here in MS look like this one and those are easier to do cause being a square lol ! love the deck, most houses today have decks ! This would be a nice series! You rock Deli!
Definitely need to do it with a budget! I don't like the bathroom next to the kitchen, no one is going to go running through the kitchen to poop. Imagine cooking and hearing someone go poop? Ew.
Thank you so much for posting this. Today is my birthday and I’m going to lunch with my friends so I needed this to help keep me entertained while doing my hair ❤
This was a fun video and I'd like to see more of these. I want to submit my house because I'm totally lost on how to decorate it and make it all look cohesive and pretty. I don't have much of an eye for style and I tend to like a variety of things that don't really fit together. So I'd love to have someone else give it a shot, lol.
I love this! Please do more :) Maybe I’ll add a comment to my upload giving you more info on our style or use of space - but I would say you can have free reign, use cc, knock down walls, go wild! You’re doing amazing Deli 🤍
One of the most unrealistic things you did was switch the side the kitchen was on. All of the gas, water, and electrical were on the outside wall, and that would be a major expense to run all of it to the opposite wall. And, it would all need to be ripped out in order to put the sliding door onto the deck. I would have kept the OG outside dor and put it on the back wall, and kept the kitchen where it was. Much more inexpensive that way.
I think many of us call that “storage” room in the back that leads to the backyard a “mud room” similar idea to a “foyer” but mostly made for family to come in vs the public here in America 🙂
This is great please let us know on RU-vid next time you do this I have my house I built but have only RU-vid and some twich, again love this idea 💡(also I am one of your fans who is on console so I appreciate you thinking of us
“This amount of land is massive for Australian standards…” Deli you live in the city 🤣 Everywhere else in Australia has gardens and farms the city of Scotland 😃
