Kozhikode or Calicut is a coastal city in the southern state of Kerala, India the city was an early focus for Arab traders, who first settled there in the 7th century. Vasco da Gama, the Portuguese discoverer of the sea route to India, reached Kozhikode in 1498.The name Kozhikode is derived from Koyil- Kota (fort), meaning fortified palace. The name also got corrupted into Kolikod, or its anglicized version Calicut. Arab merchants called it Qāliqūt.
I remember going to Paragon as a 10 year old kid and having this amazing biriyani. There was this man with a big beard on the table beside, with his family. He looked so familiar, I kept looking at him to get an idea of where I knew him from. He spotted me looking over and smiled at me too. My parents and other relatives at the table did not even notice. While leaving the restaurant and getting into the car, I finally realized it was the actor Jayasurya and he had a beard for his movie called Beautiful. I regret not saying hello and maybe taking a picture with him because I am pretty sure I will never get to see an actor up close without the presence of a crowd or media.

I agree, the people of Malabar make the most delicate flavourful biryani …Malabari have been interacting with Omani and Yemeni people since three thousand years ….it’s also believed that Omani people may have had a hand in the Kerala Parotta 😂😂
@@nishma93 I used to like Hyderabadi too but once I tried Malabari, I was blown away and more when I had thalaserry biryani. Even Dindigul biryani was tastier than Hyderabadi.
I'm Pakistani and i went to Calicut Notebook Restuarant above Lu Lu mall in Al Nahda Dubai. There I had biryani which was pretty similler in looks with the one in the video. In Pakistan If we see white Biryani rice, we presume it would be less spicy but its totally opposite for biryanis in Kerala. Also If you are in Al Nahda, Dubai also try Dum Biryani from Indian Hyderabadi restaurant Sharan its also amazing..

Khalid Sir, later if possible try the Bawarchi Biryani in RTC cross roads of Hyderabad India. There are several types of biryanis, and you are likely to have it; and in that process also you can check Hyderabad India, which is like the Seattle in terms of Software companies present :)
