I watched this video just to see Molly's face when she first encountered Bruce.....priceless......even after 12 escalator rides, I was still here. I'm glad I watched from beginning to end because this is an absolutely fascinating deep dive into Cinema. Thanks for taking us along to visit the Academy Museum (so much more than I expected) and for all the great views of Bruce and the footage and background story of "Jaws". Glad you got to see him IRL. There's just something that CGI doesn't do -- give us such fantastic props for appreciation.

Love this! I am a "slow" museum explorer too. I love that about you and these videos. Googled Hattie McDaniels' Oscar which apparently was a plaque with an Oscar statuette (that's how the supporting awards were designed back then) and folks don't know where it is. She willed it to Howard U. It could be at Howard U. in a box or at the bottom of the Potomac. At times it was seen on top of cabinets in university offices, but it could have been removed for safety during the protests in the 60's. It is rumored that a student threw it in the river in protest of the kinds of roles Black actors were relegated to in mainstream Hollywood. Maybe/hopefully it is in a box somewhere much like one of Judy Garland's costumes that they found at American U. even though they thought that memorabilia had been destroyed. Thank you from a fellow montage lover for this awesome video!

FYI, Hattie McDaniel left her Oscar to Howard University. It apparently took a while to get there, but it's there now!

Molly, Great video!! Your shadow puppet moment and your repeated viewing of Bruce are my favorite moments from this video! Did you see the recent 3D theatrical reissue of Jaws that was released last September? IT WAS SPECTACULAR! Even though I had seen Jaws many times thru the years since I grew up with the film, watching it in 3D made me fall in love with it. I LOVED IT!!

It’s wild to me that Michelle Yeoh is the second woman of color to win an academy award after Halle Berry and it just happened last week.

Molly, I love how passionate you are about movies and their history! When you are going up the escalator to see Bruce, you have the expression of someone waiting to see an old friend they haven't seen in a while and waiting for them to get off the airplane! Love that! Side note - PLEASE, PLEASE watch the Godfather and Godfather II. These movies are "chefs kiss". I watch them at least 2 times a year. The horse scene is disturbing but it's an important part of the story!

I think it's underrated to film museums (obviously there's a time and place bc of the museums tone and how you act) I tried to film the st Louis arch museum and it was underground and it somehow corrupted my phones SD card ability so I had so much pictures and videos lost up until a few month ago! Interesting piece of info about the name of the building: the people that it's named after are Haim Saban (more famously known for being the guy who created Power Rangers) and his wife Cheryl.

Norman Productions- that's Norman Studios in Jacksonville, FL! They're trying to raise money to create a museum because the original headquarters of the film studio still exists. Jacksonville used to be a big movie making city back in the silent era and it's history that's almost forgotten so I hope they can get the museum up and running.
