Eagle Air is one of iceland's less known domestic airlines. Everyone knows that Icelandair run several domestic services within iceland but most people don't know that Airlines like Eagle Air and Nordlandair also offer domestic services around Iceland! so that is what we are doing this week! we are taking Eagle Air from Hofn Airport in the south east of Iceland to Icelands capital Reykjavík to find out how good the service by Eagle Air is.

BIRK/RKV = Reykjavik Airport and BIKF/KEF = Keflavik Airport. Simple! That looked a great flight, just a shame it wasn't a bit longer!

Keflavik is often referred to as Rekjavik Airport although it's not close to the capital.That so called domestic airport isn't really domestic as it does some international flights to Greenland and the Faroe Islands.

They have unfortunately moved all the international flights to Kef.

Your correct! Though I believe the Faroese operations and most the Greenland operations bar 1 have moved to Keflavik since the air Iceland connect/icelandair merge. I know the authorities including the airport management refer to it as Reykjavik city airport & I suppose in some ways that is a better distinction than domestic.

Not Icelandic, but my Icelandic friends refer to it as just Reykjavik airport 😂 Given there are international destinations from RKV, referring to it as “domestic” always feel wrong.

Unfortunately I believe Eagle Air have recently gone out of business. They disposed of the Dornier 328 and their dwindling Jetstream fleet was down to one airworthy frame. I believe the Beech King Air you flew on is owned by another Icelandic airline who have an affiliation.

Seems like a nice flight, but most Icelanders can’t afford to fly domestically. They prefer to drive.

Nice video, Iceland's such an incredible country! I wonder if I'm one of very few people to have flown into Reykjavik's City airport on a 757 🤔. I had done a day trip up to Akureyri on a Flugfelag Islands Fokker 50 early in the day, but for some reason that I can't recall, they cancelled a number of later flights between the two cities. Because that meant there were quite a few people stranded who were trying to get back to Reykjavik, they sent a 757 to pick us all up! I recall it was an Icelandair aircraft painted in an all white livery. I also remember there was a LOT of heavy braking on landing. 😄

Another excellent video. Well done, Dom! Iceland and it`s landscapes and nature are indeed stunning and inspirational. And seeing this landscape also from such a unique perspective is just fantastic! I loved to see the great experience you had with Eagle Air. I`m very much tempted now getting on such a flight with them myself ☺!

I’d love to see a Dom’s coffee global ranking! Review all your coffees on your trips and publish a spreadsheet or give them a rating out of 10! I used to do this but with spring rolls and called it ‘global rolls’ lol
