Just finished flying the exact same trip, airline and class. BA needs to update their A380 biz class, rapidly. You are lucky if your seat works and they lost my luggage. Had to beg BA to get my luggage to me, in Miami, the next day before our trip continued to the Caribbean. Not a premium experience but it was a lot cheaper than flying American Airlines biz class.
Thanks, very timely as I am about to take this return journey, from Santo Domingo via Miami and back. There is no doubt that these Club cabins are are past their sell by date, but to be fair, from here at least, that is recognised in the price which compares favourably with Premium Economy on Iberia via Madrid or BA direct to London from Punta Cana. The DR tends to be expensive on fares if your flight originates here, so for the moment at least BA Club via Miami flight offers a good compromise on price vs comfort.
Definitely, I really liked that too. 62A was my favourite seat. You've got the window, but also not having to step over someone else. Thanks for watching!
Great review, Thanks Ken! Glad you had great service, I hope BA are perhaps starting to turn a corner on that front. Yes club suites can’t come soon enough, but the A380s will be last to be refurbished, unless flying F I try and avoid using my avios/cash on the old club world. Will be a bit better at least when they get all their Dreamliners refurbished with Club suite. Do keep up the BA reviews, I enjoy them, thanks
Thanks, glad you enjoyed the review. I do hope to try out more different airlines in the coming year or so, but it's sometimes difficult when you are based in London. A direct flight is just so much more convenient.
For the cost of flying Business Class, I think that this configuration is terrible. Only a few of the window seats have unrestricted aisle access, which I was fortunate enough to book when I took BA's A380 from London to Chicago.
Agree, however we do have to remember that these older Club World seats were designed at a time when it wasn't very common for all the business class seats to have unrestricted aisle access. Obviously they are really common now, so BA really needs to refit these A380s as soon as possible. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Great video. But it's pointless for BA to upgrade the A380 since soon it will all be out of service. That would be a waste of money. Etihad business is in another level.
Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. Actually I read that BA is going to retrofit Club Suites on their A380s next year 2025, so perhaps they will plan to use them for longer than expected?
