If you want to learn Russian, check out this free resource: learntherussianlanguage.com/y... --------------------- So I traveled to Moscow and I wanted to share you my experience.
Guys, I can tell you that even in the beginning of 2000s I felt uncomfortable saying Europeans and Americans that I was Russian, bc the reaction to that was either awkward or sometimes not very friendly. Some didn’t hesitate to humiliate me just because) So what I have to say is that it didn’t all start in 2022, it all started decades before this date. Regardless of what I feel about the Ukrainian conflict I will never be ashamed of my nationality, my language or my country. And if you feel the need to bully me for that, well, so be it. It is your own responsibility. Hate, whether turned inward or out, creates a destructive state of mind that wreaks havoc with your physical health and emotional well-being. So if that’s what you’re looking for in life, so be it.
It's not about bullying it's about seeing you as a people for what your are: a people with blood on your hands and a dark and sinister past, present and future. The point is this time you will not be trusted again and the fact that you can speak as you do - as though your are not collectively responsible - is sick! And you have the audacity to talke about a destructive state of mind wreaking havoc when you are destroying a country and people, your own boys are being slaughtered and you threated nuclear attacks. That is what you Russians are looking for in life. How do you sleep at night? Clear off!
I mean, I never been adroad in the west, but even being at home I feel that. For example I played game yesterday, some guy joined me, we played together, talk, having fun, and he asked my name. I told him: "Dmitry" He asks: "Are you Russian?" I said: "Yes" And he disconnected immidiatly. And this isn't a rare situation by any mean. I know it for sure, as soon as they get to know that I'm Russian they will eather kick me, or mute, or ban, or steal my loot. Even if we were fine before they know it.
😋 Guys, that's what I want to say. I have visited a lot of capitals in the world, I have been to Paris, Tokyo, Beijing, Kuala Lumpur, Berlin, Rome, Stockholm, Seoul, Ottawa, Singapore. but! There is no such amazing city as Moscow anywhere. Clean, comfortable, cheap, beautiful 15 million megalopolis. I am sincerely convinced that this is the best time and place to travel to Mother Russia.
Thanks for the video and your message at the end! People everywhere just want to live in peace. I'm goign to visit my girlfriend in Russia in August and applied for the visa yesterday. Your video is great help
I started learning Russian in 2021, after a life-long fascination with the culture and the language. I just recently found your channel, and I love your philosophy and approach to learning the language. I would love to go there and travel, but didn't know how it'd be with the current political climate... kinda the exact thing that you were addressing here. I live in the US, and Russia seems so far away and I've never even been to Europe.. so idk how I would go there, but I'd like to find a way. Thanks for another great vid!
sane people still exist here in Russia and you are always welcome. we also miss the days when Z was for Zorro and V was for Vendetta 😔 upd: lol guys look how the kremlebots work. for two weeks they were silent but today 22.07. their master let them off the chain XD
Here is still the same amount of sane people as it was before the SMO. I think it's even relatively more now, because so many crazy liberals left the country, including that freak Navalniy.
@Darkdally Yes, geographically and mentally, Russia is very far from the United States from each other. But if you love Russian culture and language, then Russia will be at arm's length for you. Welcome to a free, clean, safe Russia, friend)
Thank you for your video! I am from Moscow myself, lived in Europe for a while. Hopefully, your video will inspire my boyfriend to come visit my home city so he finally meets my family. We've been hesitant for the last 1.5 years to go there together for obvious reasons, and it's been tough for my parents.
I am European, and shall not forget the sacrifice and heroics of Soviet people in WWII no matter what our mass media says and no matter how many books they burn...
moscow is not really car dependent now as public transport and metro are so good, and automobilization is slowly stopping as cars got more expensive too, but it is still very difficult to bike as there are only very few bike lanes and only in center. i wish moscow was designed like amsterdam
And i can tell you, having been in Russia many times! Exactly this is the f…. problem, people like YOU! Gladly to see, that not every Russian person is similar to you and there are lots of people worth it…
The end of this video just made me tear up cause… I guess it hit too close to home… I’m from Moscow too, and I agree with what you said. I wish that people in general were… yeah. I wish I wish. Btw you’re not the first saying that people are smiling more, which is lovely, and I think you’re right, it’s cause of summer. And maybe people are just putting more effort into getting their lives together as much as they can, cause there’s no other option. We have to keep on living. Anyways, thank you for this video and your thoughts. Happy you enjoyed your trip and wishing you and your girlfriend all the best 💗
I've been in russia for the past four months. I have been confronted several times for being American. It's usually from drunk guys near the bars. If not for the people I was with, I would have likely had to defend myself physically for maybe two of these instances. Though I am in the far eastern part of Russia where most people have never been in contact with an American. In Moscow I'm sure my experience would be different. I have to say though, that the majority of people here in the east are very welcoming and fascinated by my presence. Its quite easy to make friends here.
sorry to hear that drunkards opposed you. They are the cancer of our country and our society. I hope that in the future there will be more worthy people on your way, and as a Russian, I apologize for the behavior of these idiots.
Feel free walking our streets UwU It isn't that bad at all, because our nation, the people, folks are peaceful and understanding. I hope everyone will feel as the citizen of Earth (I'm a bit cosmopolitan) in future.
The relationships between Russia and the West would be getting worse not better for quite some time actually. Meaning for quite some years. That's why things like this video will only become more valuable.
We just don't particularly like people with blood on their hands and a psycho belief in a motherland which is nothing more that a totalitarian killing machine with an inferiority comple: who still see Stalin as a hero and have historically created little except trouble in the world. This time your fate is sealed! Go away
DONT THINK YOU WILL GET AWAY WITH IT AND EVERYTHING WILL RETURN TO NORMAL.
Did you do some type of visa on arrival? I’m also European and I’m interested to visit moscow. Please let me know if you have some more details on how to get that visa on arrival. Thank you very much for your videos
Brilliant video … can you show us some more of Moscow It’s nice to see an unbiased video of Russian cities! Not enough people talk about the development that has happened since end of ussr … looking forward to some more videos/ maybe livestream?
I guess you mean development only in Moscow, because Moscow keeps the rest of Russia in brutal poverty while exploiting their resources and human labors.
@@screambeyond lol … sounds like you’re also describing cities like London versus other British cities! It’s funny whenever people describes world phenomenon, as though it only happens to Russia (if it’s bad) Guess what? I’m British, grew up in London! No other city in the UK gets as much investment as London! New underground, new overground trains, new airport expansions, new residential development - all in London… meanwhile cities like Bradford, Grimsby, Sunderland, Cumbria all left undeveloped! So it’s a world problem, not just Russian problem! You need to “scream beyond” propaganda! Bye 👋
@@screambeyond not true. but you have to look in an unbiased way. krasnodar, anapa ,yekaterinburg, st petersburg...to name a few in brutal poverty ? i live in the netherlands and have many friends from russia on facebook. most of them are pretty satisfied. i guess you have a lot to learn. you are refferring to our msm, and many people seem to believe it, without other sources..... only in moscow....yeah right 🤭🤭
Hey, just found your channel, im from Russia and have been learning English since childhood, and i am happy to read, watch movies , happy to know new culture on another level. I guess you have same feelings about Russian language.
I am very glad that your channel kept making this content, and you don't turn your back on russian people. As a russian I thank you! It's easy to destroy bridges like our govs do, and it's hard to maintain them. Kudos to you, brother :)
Быть the only adult in the room - ведёт к тому, что "партнёры" с катушек слетают совсем.
Good video, it is the likes of you who go to moscow and see the situation there that can provide direct account of their state of affairs to other westerners when you go home

Russian people tend not to smile that often due to their closed behavior towards strangers. When people tend to know you more and open up - that's when you can see true emotion, smiles and trust. While in most other countries and America it is more of an etiquette thing and people tend to not be that openminded when you get close to them. Those smiles are not that sincere and is basically politeness.
Hey man, how long did it tame to get your visa processed? It says it takes 10 to 12 working days online, but on the video you said it was shorter, right?

I don't think Russia does visas on landing, so definitely check online whether/how you should get a visa or not. I do know that in 2020 or so Saint Petersburg was going to experiment with e-visas, but I'm not sure what the results were of that.
No, such visas can get only people from Bahrain, Brunei, India, Indonesia, Iran, Cambodia, China, Korea (north), Kuwait, Laos, Malaysia, Mexico, Myanmar, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Thailand, Turkey, Philippines. Only one requirement - before of visit need to book a hotel. Citizens of other countries (Latin America, exUSSR, South Africa and some other) no need visa at all. By rumors this year will be returned e-visas for countries from EU.

Not true, i’ve been in good missions to Russia many times! But if you just read some of the comments here, you must realise, that for too many people it’s not worth it, to travel there right now! Hey, I have a question. I am from the Netherlands too. I am going to Russia too. I am visiting my fiance. Ari, where do you exchange your euro's to Rubles? Is this still possible? Do you have any advice for my travels?
I usually exchange directly with people I know that travel ocasionally to Europe. From what I understand euros are in demand in Russia now, so I'd see if I can find something that pays better than the normal rate.
By the way, EU citizens can get a visa, fly to Finland, and then take a bus to St. Petersburg, I guess. There are no queues at embassies since 2022. 😅😅
I am an American living in Moldova learning both Romanian and Russian. I am here working with Moldovan orphans and Ukrainian refugees (for the most part, although one of my friends is Russian and married to a Ukrainian woman).
