Love how this game has you playing as a group of mercs under the direct orders of Umbrella yet half the game has them basically being bombarded by threats sent in BY Umbrella. Like a good chunk of the game is your team having their boss constantly trying to kill them.
Makes sense why the UBCS are killed off and used in experiments as well, and why even their USS tend to have high casualties and why HUNK would be such a legend.
@@ChrisSantino the UBCS were sent to destroy evidences and survivors, the same objective as the BOWs. The problem was Nicholai Zinoviev, he was a double agent working under orders from an unknown entity/person, and was responsible for directly sabotaging the actions of the UBCS, and much more. Maybe the plan was to kill every survivor - even the ones working for Umbrella - all along.
Honestly warms my heart to see how many people still love this game. I’m a simple man, if the game is fun then to me it did it’s job. So much childhood nostalgia to boot.
@@chancepaladinTrue. I played this years ago with friends from different countries I met on PSN and we're still playing games together. Yeah, it wasn't the greatest game but we helped each other get the Platinum trophy for it. Oof! Getting S+ on every mission was the worst 😢
Literally my only complaint about this game is that one dude who keeps spamming grenades *ALL THE EFFIN TIME,* even when absolutely nothing is happening... I can't believe they never patched this bug. But other than that, i'll agree with you, this game is pretty fun to play.
The ending segment was so fun with friends. Everyone gets to pick to protect Leon or kill him and then you have to fight each other depending on what you choose. Also you didn't seem to be using the pistol quick shot button. It auto head shots zombies that are nearest to you.
This game's PVP was the SHIT back in the day, I played the hell out of it. Maybe it's because I was younger and my standards for what qualify as a good game were lower than they are now, but I will always cherish the memories I made with this game back in the Spring of 2012
I dont remember the other modes, but I have had some of the tensest moments in the helicopter one: desperately trying to get to the helicopter before the enemy team was fun and tense as hell
I miss the friends I made on this game back in 2012-2015, we ran as a 8 man clan on this game, pretty much owned each lobby we played in, sadly IR comes knocking and now we've all gone our separate ways, hope they are doing ok
RE is so creepy, crazy, convoluted, wacky, sometimes funny(90s corny humor), and dramatic. This franchise is awesome. I have to say Chris “punch boulders” Redfield and Leon Kennedy are my favorite characters. Man this franchise is bigger than kingdom hearts lol 😂.
@@Night_Raptor_5991No but Resident Evil and Dino Crisis would be a killer combo, can you imagine Regina meeting Jill while Dylan and Chris fighting arm wrestling trying to proof whose more manliness 🤣
This game had one of the best concepts. I liked playing as umbrella and seeing more of the inner workings of it. This was made by a different developer (the ones behind socom). If the gameplay was more refined and the bugs worked out this would have been a pretty decent game
No, if it had been like they said it, which was suppose to be changing major events from the main titles with a freeroam element. It would have had sequels, instead, the studio went under and the team rushed to finish a game that needed more time in development.
@Madcomplex Free roam would have killed the game even more in my opinion. I would rather play a more linear story-based game than a game where you just meander about with no real direction or goal. Those type of games bore me to death and I will always just end up putting them down because it ultimately feels pointless. Not every game needs to be open world or have free roam. I miss the days when you had more tightly designed games where each chapter or section of the game is rigorously designed from top to bottom and they actually plan out and have a direction in mind. Open world free roam games tend to just create an overall bland sandbox that isn't as well thought out or designed and just throw together lazy designs or repeated things to pad out the game. Very few actually create a good open world that actually does free roam well
That game was ungodly difficult to play solo, I barely beat it a few times, but got very pissed whenever the AI partners would randomly just die or get caught in simple parts of the environment
You literally can bypass any "waiting for your partners" to get to the next area if they all die. Once you get loaded in the next area all of your companions respawn
I remember this game. Played it for about 3 weeks and just stopped but not because it was a bad game, it just felt like one of those indie games you enjoy for a bit and then go back to your regulars. Was actually very fun especially the PVP, and considering how much people love HUNK you’d figure the game would of been more popular considering you’re playing as THEE Umbrella special forces. This was definitely a banger if you had friends to play with and if you were fortunate enough to have four of your buddies play with you like I did; it really shined.
The pvp mix with pve elements was so much fun. If they released a revamped version of this game’s multiplayer, it would be such a better experience than RE Resistance or RE: Verse.
I would love to play this with my three other friends, Capcom just has to bring it back; they took it out of Steam since Games For Windows Live shut down but they haven't done a thing since.
@@Lucios1995 I dunno what everyone's problem was, I downloaded old version (well I guess every version is old now) of GFWL and was able to play normally, hell I even earn Xbox achievements and had people joining my campaign. Just twice though, not a lot of players left.
I hope the remaster this first and then start working on RE5/6. This game didn’t shine as bright as it should’ve. For me, it didn’t need a great in-depth story. Racoon city had enough going on. I just wish they made more Easter Eggs/references to the other games. since they’re happening simultaneously.
They should really make more co-op RE games like this, but better, I do love the class-based system, so you'll play what you're good at, like medics, snipers, melee tank, and gun slingers
Check Resident Evil Outbreak. It's the best possible co-op experience a RE game could provide. Too bad they made it before online gaming got so widespread as it is today, and only for consoles. C'mon, who actually used the internet on their PS2 ?
@@jax199me and my friend always talk about how popular that would be as a remake, and how it would have made the perfect re game instead of that dumb battle Royale thing they tried
@@GrimViridianOutbreak will always be the best Residence Evil’s Spinoff and just like other people said the Co-op system on that game is some of the best when the game come out, too bad it came to early and didn’t get the attention it deserved, here to hoping Capcom bringing the series back with the same game concept but improved in-game mechanics.
people bashed this game so badly because you couldn't play as their precious Leon, Claire, Chris or Jill. forgetting its a what if scenario. i personally like it, it was fun.
I don't think because of that thought The first time i saw this game they look hella cool, and wanted to play it And when i play the game man , it's kinda dull and annoying especially againts non zombie enemy They hella bullet sponges, you need 2 shotgun blast at point-blank to kill a single spec ops enemy and worse of all that the normal difficulty I can't imagine a madlad that try higher difficulty in this game I love play as victor and going invisible but man if they make the enemy less spongy it's would be a good game And to be fair, i love resident evil where you can play with your friend like 5 or 6 Since capcom abandoned the idea o CO-OP, i don't think they will release a good CO-OP game anymore for resident evil franchise
I remember watching gameplay of this when I was in my teens, and actually playing it years later. One thing I always thought cool was the mission briefings. Especially when the outbreak erupts and you get reports and calls that play during the briefing.
Imagine a new title like this, with refined gameplay mechanics and the level of detail that the current engine can provide. What a banger it will be, instead what we had was RE:Resistance and REverse.
Tbf this coop was a pretty fun time. 30:00 and that Leon split mission was great coop as well just randomly flipped the game into pvp mode who ever wins gets their ending
The only cool thing from this game was the fact that you would turn into a zombie if you got infected... And I think they were referencing the movies when you can kill zombies with anti-infection spray 🤔
This is literally every RPG third person shooter... and I didn't mind it. Also, I choose my games based on whatever pings my 'ooh shiny' meter. Reviewers, public or otherwise, don't know jack.
ORC was janky as all hell and had horrendously spongey enemies, but it was still, _somehow_ , a very fun game that nailed the feeling of RE and the Wolf Pack are, quite possibly, one of my favourite squads in a video game _ever_
Not gonna lie, I actually really liked this game and I still do to this day. Yeah it's a bit janky but I still played the hell out of it. Got myself all the way up to rank 99. I found it to be a lot of fun despite it's problems. Wouldn't mind another game like this for RE, I thought it was an interesting idea
There was some odd satisfaction in being a rank 99 and joining random games with low ranks and them getting so excited to get help from a high-rank player lmao.
I'll say this. This game was definitely a buggy mess, but this still brought forth a lot of fun memories. The Co-Op was easily the best and fun thing about this game. And obviously while the story was lackluster at best, I liked the idea of playing through iconic areas as Umbrella's lackeys and trying to fix the mistakes made that caused their downfall. Plus, the CG cutscenes are still absolutely amazing for the time this game had released. (Though this fame did have easily the worst Nemesis voice and its a shame since he had such an awesome reveal in this game.) And the multi-player was such a blast to play too. Heroes V.S Villains was easily the most fun mode of this game and the chaos of multi-player was what made the game just fun to experience. Unfortunately, trying to play the game solo can be a hassle due to the A.I being....well, not good. 😅 But, even then, the game was still fun to play. (It gets bonus points for including Crimson Heads as well! We SERIOUSLY need these guys back for a future Resident Evil game cause they're what made Zombies so crazy.)
this game is genuinely one of my fave ever made. The story is pure insanity, but the game play is SUPER solid. I love the melee system. B and A to insta kill, hold B and you get a zombie shield... or get to shoot a player in the face a bunch? IN PVP it was SO ineffective against lupo, lol
I love this game so much, I loved it back in the day and I still play it on my Xbox now. Awesome coop game and fun multiplayer, don’t even care if the campaign was lacking story wise or was too short.
Fun fact: Craziest part of this game, is because this is a Capcom wacky game I think, it has secret context moves. If you grapple a enemy and hit the ability button, you can strap a mine, inject, kill and disguise, and probably other things to a grappled enemy, literally hurling them away. Also you could either shoot in the head or just wound them for angry zombie action.
ORC was a nightmare to play. If they fixed up the gameplay a bit, a remake of this would be greatly appreciated. Imagine a multi-team free for all between different factions.
Ngl, I played hundreds of hours of RE: Operation Raccoon City. Absolutely loved this game. Played the lady who could turn B.O.W's into allies for a bit, forgot her name.
This was actually my first Resident Evil Game lmao. I remember loving it to death as a kid. I thought the operators were so cool and like how you could be turned into a zombie thing and I liked being a cool team of agents doing shit. Let's see if it holds up and Kevduit likes it at all lol
I loved this game and played it a ton with friends. Samurai Edge is the best weapon in the game. The doctor character had this cool ability where she could turn any humanoid enemy into a crimson head, or temporarily turn an enemy to attack others for you. Despite the glitches, I still think this game is great.
This game was my favorite back on 360 days. I cant tell you how many times i beat the story AND I got to max level in multiplayer. The cowboy shotgun with the super soldier ability was BROKEN
I seriously enjoyed this game when it released on 360. Sure it was buggy, but the "what-if" story was something fresh we hadn't seen in a game before. It's sad that the team making the game only had a year to bring this out. I think with more time they could have had more missions or even a deeper multiplayer.
I remember playing this as a kid and had a lot of fun with it. Played 4eyes till I maxed and unlocked everything for her and she gave me my thing for asian women and minions
I read the title and Thought, No you did not you went back and discovered a Gem. This is actually the one game I Pray Capcom make a Remake of cause its so damn fun. still Play it was about to buy it again On steam till i had seen it was delisted for recent-ish Technical issues. The PVP cheaters on console were an issue though
this game was so cool in concept. the alternate timeline, HUNK, classes to choose from, an online multiplayer. but it does play like a bad gears clone. still one of my favorite 360 past times.
Yeah the PvP was horribly unbalanced but there was a number of cool things about the game. The multiplayer matches like the Nemesis match and Survivor match were really cool and unique. The bleed and infection mechanics were unique and worked pretty well. I wanted those to return for Umbrella Corps but they didn't which was a shame. ORC had a ton to offer a new RE shooter but I guess the game really got memory holed by people. At this point I'd love to see a new version of ORC with free roam and various missions based on time. Think Dead Rising mixed with ORC and the Outbreak games. Facing Nyx or Thanatos as the USS or Spec Ops would be so cool.
So the studio that made this, Slant Six Games, also worked on the SOCOM U.S. Navy SEALs franchise. And man, this game really does feel like it's from a company that primarily worked on Navy Seals type games. In case you're wondering, Slant Six Games closed a little over a year after this game released.
They should make a sequel to this game that takes place during the RE6 timeline, since that one is mainly shooting and action, this game will fit right in
This game was a riot with friends. Especially because you could get absolutely pulped into smithereens yet all it takes is a pat on the back from your friend and you're back to normal. Oh what's that? You turned into a zombie and your friend just gutted you and smashed your head into pulp on the floor? No problem, they'll just pick you back up and you'll be fine.
back in the day where operation racoon city was still alive My honest Experience was blasting with : Fear, Anger, Happy It was the best Cod Multiplayer mixed with some zombies like they literally jumpscare you while lickers and nemesis or Mr.X pursue you while you kill the ennemies I had a blast playing the online mode it was AMAZING truly sad it died and Capcom didnt think of bringing it back would be a huge advencement in their success
Favourite RE game simply because it gives me exactly what I want in a story revolving around military or Umbrella personnel in Raccoon city, mowing dozens of zombies with assault rifles and such was good fun.. I wish I'd been able to play it multiplayer, ALSO the fact it wasn't split-screen co-op on console felt like the devs were being malicious, lol.
Dude! I was in high school when this game came out. Me and my friends played this a lot! We literally didn’t lose a single match in this game. We took advantage of the bad game lagging.
This game was never even on my radar but I just bought a physical copy off ebay just now for $12 to play on my Series X, because it seriously just looks hella fun.
