I must commend Kev for being so patient. He sat through hours of cutscenes and jibber jabber just so he could get 25 minutes of footage for a game he knew he would only be playing once.

Protagonist: He's just unconscious. He was a soldier who was just following orders. also Protagonist: Proceeds to backstab the first character after leaving the dungeon.

Being scammed for $800 and getting beat up for bumping into guard? Damn, this game is realistic, that's immersion Bethesda can only dream of!

Im ngl, I have a special place for two world 2s magic mechanics in my heart since I grew up with it. To my young brain the idea that I could swap elements with different spells and add modifications to them blew me away I wish more games would implement that concept since it's extremely satisfying to use and especially so when you create a powerful spell

This game literally has the best spellcrafting system ever put into a video game.

One of my earliest RPGs believe it or not this game got me into western rpgs and it's still enjoyable to this day

I once made a spell that was a tornado of flaming anvils. It one shot everything so hard they'd often glitch into walls and the ground. Later on i found a massive of pile of bodies in the middle of nowhere and realized all the people i had sent into the void with my anvil tornado spell was dropping there. It took me hours to give the pile a proper looting since there was so many bodies. The game has the kinds of jank that could make Todd Howard blush and i love it for that.

Hey, Two Worlds 2 has an awesome spell crafting system that I have not seen in any other fantasy RPG.

Getting beat up for bumping into guards is pretty immersive I must say.

Man I missed the multiplayer mode. You could "build" your own village, then play with friends on missions. Good times.

The fact the guy with the cool magic sword is effectively named "Sword-a-han" says more about this game's writing than the entire story could ever hope to.

This game is jank in a good way and the magic system is honestly pretty cool

To me, combat was iffy, but I loved how much lore was in this game, and the fact it was all open world. There was also a multiplayer/village management system that I distinctly remember because of how invested I was. The village management was pretty basically you built things like barracks and barricades/guard towers to improve the village's defences while housing and shops allowed you to buy better gear as the village progressed, there was also side quests you could do for your residents that took you outside the village onto a small map with random encounters that made you some quick cash. It was also time sensitive, meaning if you spend a week away from the village in real-time, then depending on your defenses, your village would be absolutely fucked or alright. The multiplayer system was basically a selection of missions with a large map but ultimately had a goal, and you could create a female character that shared Kyra's voice actor. It was fun, but I wished that multiplayer wasn't so confined and added as a second thought imho.

This game made me hate deserts in games. Everytime I get cold sweats. Thanks two worlds 2 for ruining deserts as a setting for me. (It was my first rpg)

I actually really enjoyed this game back in the day

I actually thought it was a good game. It was janky as hell yes, but atmosphere and charm was excellent. The world wasn't huge but damn it if it didn't have tons to do. A ridiculous amount of side quests, and even mini games (they were pretty janky as well but the concept was really neat). The story was pretty decent and even the dialogue and voice acting was decent for what it was. The graphics were actually surprisingly good as well. Good physics and in some ways the combat was well done. Yes compared to something like skyrim, it was in a lower tier, but i believe it didn't deserve the flack it got. It was a good effort for the time and hey, it was a massive improvement from the first one lol.

I love this game, finished it two times whereas I couldn't get much farther than 3 hours into skyrim. It has some great original ideas. It's jank for sure, but the writing of most side quest is pretty cool. The main story is pretty generic, but the ending is a hilarious clusterfuck with so many plot twists you forget who is actually the villain. There is a side quest where a guy sends you to get shovels supposedly stolen by baboons, so that he and some other guys can build a house or something, so like a good protagonist you go to the quest marker kill the baboons find no shovel and when you return the guy is alone and tells you that he was getting robbed by the other guys and hoped you'd realize that a baboon is stealing a shovel is adsurd and help him. I will never forget that quest 😂

When I was a kid I saw PewDiePie play Dark Souls 1 but I didn’t know what it was called at the time so I was trying to get my father to buy it but he ended up buying this instead. And for the longest of time I used to think this was Dark Souls and even as a kid I HATED this game but I completed it

Oh man, I remember this. I remember seeing the first gameplay video from the developers and how it actually looked very impressive in terms of visuals, combat, magic looked awesome. I actually believed back then it was going to be like that. After the first game I should have known better that such miracles don't exist, lmao.

I once commended this game and what it was trying to do. spellcrafting was unique and you could create spells that used the game engine's physics to push or pull objects and enemies into a cluster. you could conjure tornadoes and watch enemies fly around you! summoning a mob of hell monsters or undead was enjoyable. playing medieval drum/violin/flute hero was a nice way to earn coin. having 3 quick-load equipments slots, if you wanted to switch between melee outfit or warrior or something else. The game even has a dragon. I bet most didn't know it, because of the main drawback of this game; the quests. Everything feels disjointed. The story doesn't matter. The quests doesn't matter. And there are a TON of quests. I've failed some quests because of some weird twist that nobody sees coming, as if the devs thought themselves outsmarting the player. You think there is some moral good/bad choices in this game. It hardly matters. There's even one quest where, if you picked the right choices, get to have a romantic scene with a woman in the bedroom. Then she vanishes after the cutscene. That's it. The payoff is nonexistant. The devs worked hard on a MMO-content of quests but never asked what the point of it all should've been. The world doesn't get better, it stays the same. probably the worst is that you don't know who you're rooting for. The orcs? the humans? if by some incredible patience you reach the end game you'll start to notice how childish character-plot twists they will pull at you, it will make you shrug and think "why bother?" This game could've done better if they did less. Focused on their strongest cards, the spellcrafting and maybe the multiplayer-side.

The Eragon books were so much better than the shit show of the movie

Not going to lie... I fucking LOVED Two Worlds II on the 360. I maxed my character and got 1k Gamerscore on it. That's how much I loved it, even with as jank it could be at times. Fireballs were so OP at endgame 😸

I remember meeting a boss in some tower where they glitched into a wall making it easy to kill them where I gained an over leveled weapon. It was very fun for how bad it was

I hope Kevduit at least plays a bit more until he gets to the other island. It's way more interesting than the damn brown-gray savannah. Also I remember sailing from one island to the other. Even though I never finished the game, I have so many memories of it. Struggling to play the in-game guitar hero with different instruments, playing around with the awesome magic system. And that apart from magic the halberd weapons were my favourite, though I don't remember why. :P

I loved the spell crafting in this game. You could pretty much make any spell you wanted.

I love the "your brother messed up so here's a backhand just in case that gave you funny ideas" approach to parenting.

It seems you just fakk around but never get to creating any of those cool magic spells like when you summon crates falling from the sky and a small tornado that picks them up and crush your enemies.

I thought this game was dogshit because it was sold for like 1 penny in G2A and was in all of those "10 random steam games" you could buy for 1 dollar. But man... It's actually lit. It's almost like Gothic was made by someone else than PiranhaBytes

IMO this game is pretty decent even today. There is a lot of kinda boring stuff at the beginning but with some patience and one or two mods you can discover nice story and fun gameplay behind all those flaws.

I loved this game as a kid, I never had Skyrim and this is my reference point for this kind of game. To this day I'll see screenshots of Skyrim and think of 2 Worlds 2

It's 2024 and Two Worlds Two still has the best spell crafting system in the business. All the while the big name games have to be modded to try and reach those heights.

If you play this game for the plot, you aren't doing it right. This is a sandbox at best, and probably would've done better if it focused more on the random side quests and fun side characters.

This game was so fun! also had online capability which was unheard of for it's time.

2nd on the Ranked leaderboard for XBOX here :) Sasdly there are little to no videos on modded spells. I used to have a spell that you slam into the ground, 100s of seeking bolts of fire, ice and air would fly around killing EVERY enemy within a mile or so of my character, the next spell spawned rocks and made me invinsible. The whole PVP for that game was Mods vs mods.

A lot of people making fun of this game, and for all the right reasons. But here is the thing - the game is ACTUALLY GOOD, the shame it was released unfinished. There are tons of boring side quests - which is true, but once in a while you stumble upon really cool quests, do few fetch quests, than get something really cool and interesting. The open world looks amazing IMO and it is really big. I honestly think it is a good game - with the only drawback of world being too empty. You can travel kilometers upon kilometers in some directions to find nothing, find some awesome looking ruins and islands with nothing inside. Honestly - if the devs had more time and budget the game could have obtained a cult classic status. But event as it is, I still think it is very enjoyable.

This game provided me a years worth of joy before Skyrim. The magic system is so creative and is also insanely overpowered. In multiplayer and the campaign you could solo everything with magic. Physical and magic resist spells with insanely overpower AOE magic. Absolutely invincible.

Kevduit is making me really want to play this game, never got it but now I want it.

I just picked this and I'm finding it very fun. Its vastly better than oblivion, which started out more boring than any game ever. The combat is spot on, the variety of enemies, cities, dungeons and vast area works, horseback riding is good, crafting\upgrading system is awesome. People who dislike this game are simple mass media followers.
