My vote is for matching cabinets instead of two tones and keep in mind that darker colors make small spaces appear even smaller. Great job on the thrifting and the video! Girl power! 😁
I agree. I have a small kitchen & painted my dark cabinets white & couldn’t believe how much bigger & brighter my kitchen looks. I’m not a fan of anything green, but I think if you’re going to flip a house everything should be neutral colors. Let the buyer change the color to their liking if they want.
Hi Hayley! To answer the question about the colour for cabinets. The green is very nice however, In my opinion I think something more neutral like grey would be better. Thinking of the tenant and would be easier for them to match decor. Just my thoughts, it is of course totally up to you guys. I’m just thinking from a tenant point of view! Good luck with everything and hope Josh feels better! HAPPY NEW YEAR! 🥳
Good job Hayley! This was fast moving and as informative as the rest of the “Hairy Tornado” videos!❤❤. You are an inspiration to those of us who are of a shyer nature!
Haley, you did great today on filming and showing what you got at the Goodwills!! To answer your question about the paint in the kitchen. I wouldn't use a dark color since the kitchen is kind of small. A dark color would make it seem even smaller. Just saying
HALEY Great job on the show today! on the flip house, as a retired painter 2nd gen. and a landlords son i gotta tell you that the cabinets need to be a neutral color. i know that you really like the green cabinets but you gotta remember this is a rent house and the most people may not like the colored cabinets. and since that you wont be living there you need to try to please the larger %. im just trying to help.
Good Job Hayley. I hope Josh feels better soon 🤒. Just with regards to the kitchen cupboard paint colour, just make sure the colour doesn’t clash with the oven. The house is looking great and it’s slowly getting there. Happy New Year and all the best for 2024 🥳
You have come so far with RU-vid and reselling! I have been around since the early days when you stayed away from the camera! LOL Great job and good job with the editing!
Hayley you are just awesome! You found some amazing things today, can’t wait to see how they do.☺️ Hope Josh feels better soon but until he’s back you’ve got this.🥰
Hayley, loved this 'you only' video! Hope Josh is feeling better, but again, I found this video super entertaining, informative and just FUN! Keep up the good work Hayley!! Can't wait to see the flip house kitchen finished. Love the dark green inspo!!!
OMG!! You have turned into such a confident on camera beautiful young woman. You killed at the bins, hope Josh gets better soon. Your rental house is coming right along. Give Mose some love for me. Hope your new year is a great one. Ann in Indiana.
Great video Hayley!!! Get well, Josh! I love the cottage green in the Sage green shades for the bottom cabinets, especially for your area of the country. Best wishes as you finish the house!
Hairy Tornado is sick and Bearded Thrift Machine is sick. What is happening to all the guys in South Carolina? lol. Looks like you found some good stuff Hayley! Hope Josh gets better soon! Have a Happy New Year!
Hayley! You did an awesome job filming this video!!! I remember during Covid trying to film short segments for my church, it was SOOO hard! I also remember when you were so shy and didn’t even want to speak on camera. I’m so proud of you for pushing past your fears and anxieties!! You go girl!!! ❤️❤️❤️ Praying for a quick and full recovery for Josh!
GREAT JOB HALEY! Your personality shines and you always look like your having fun in these videos. Sending Josh some positive healing energy! Happy New Years to you two and Mose too!
Haley, you were excellent, and so was the editing. I love how you two keep things moving at a clip in your videos. Happy New Year and good health to you both.
Haley and Josh as a landlord's son. i would not put expensive tile in the rent house. Renters tear up things and dont care about your property i would put the much cheaper fiberglass 1 piece shower/tub combo. i also would do a inside/outisde inspection EACH MONTH in the contract to protect your investment. If the renters dont like that i wouldn't rent it to them.
We've had a couple rentals and I have to say, I will never do white cabinets again. Renters just don't take care the way owners do and white cabinets are a nightmare. They don't hold up and a little darker colors hide a multitude of sins :)
Sorry Josh is not feeling well. I hope he has recovered by the time you put this video out. Looks like you did a great job filming without him. Luck was with you at the bins. You have come a long long way. Good for you !!👍
Great job Haley! Dark cabinets, especially on the bottom, because they take more of a "beating" would be better in a not dark color, maybe like a sage green? We did ours in white top cabinets with medium/light gray bottom cabinets. And apparently we have the same taste because we picked the same tile to do our shower in as ya'll did lol.
Oh my gosh! I have that honey comb looking tile in my shower! We just finished it and love it! I have darker lowers and then show everything. I wish I had gone lighter.
I enjoyed your video today Hayley. Who needs Josh to do these ... JK. :D I like the 2-tone cabinet colors. Don't forget to prime the bare wood first and get a quality paint that will resist chipping. Tenants won't care about banging the cabinets and painted cabinets will start to look bad after a while, and keep some to touch up the paint later on.
Great episode. Green is huge now if you watch the HGTV reno shows so you made a good choice. I'd go lighter rather than too dark. Not too light though. Good luck!
My vote is for the dark green. (Inspo is really cool!) Hearth n Hand style:). 💖Hayley, fantastic video! Josh, feel better! Happy New Year! Btws…hubby n I stopped at Buc-ees for 1st time…so amazing! Thanks all around!
We have dark painted cabinets on the bottom on our kitchen island. I hate it. Every nick or scratch or drip shows. With renters they are likely not the best decision.
I’m not personally a huge fan of two toned cabinets but I love the second green! I think both the uppers and lowers would look great in any of those shades with a white subway tile backsplash to brighten it up a little.
Hayley, check out heirloom traditions. I painted my kitchen cabinets and this paint is awesome. 1-32 oz. Can of each color did my whole kitchen. I used envy on the bottom cabinets and bone on the top and it's beautiful. It's an all in one paint.
Cabinet color: because it's a rental, I'd stay away from green. Some people don't like green, or have kitchen furniture and items that don't match. I'd go with a neutral--dark gray? I like your inspiration photo--it looks great. You do a GREAT job, even without your sweet tornado.
Dang girl!! You got this! Way to go doing the video yourself! Please go lighter with the green paint. The dark colors like that are so overpowering and I would stick to more neutral colors so the color scheme isn’t already picked out for the renters.
I’m not crazy about the thought of green cabinets. I’m more of a blue person. I worry that the two tone look will quickly look outdated. The inspiration kitchen was beautiful though.
Love your videos. Question though, how do you know what is in each bin? Do u put a note in the eBay listings or you have a spreadsheet with it all on? Curious as I get a bit messy lol😂
