In this video I return to the richest gold bearing river I have ever discovered. On my last trip I found over 3 ounces of gold in just 2 days before I had to leave to go home. This time around I am packed for 4 days, what will the outcome be?

After watching the hard work that goes into mining and extracting precious metals like gold, I understand why my old man always said that the stock market is the closest man has gotten yet to alchemy. Creating stupendous amounts of money out of thin air. Humanity always wanted it easy lol!

Lol. Tell that to the Warren Buffet’s and Charlie Munger’s. Actually some others are good. Cathy Wood predicted a rise in oil prices due to the Ukraine situation. My own adviser Mary Elizabeth Huxley also predicted that precious metals will go up during a recession after the pandemic. My portfolio has grown over $400,000 in 8 months so I guess some are better at prospecting stocks than others

Thanks Rob, The trench you saw is most likely a tailings race(tail race). The river was dammed to allow a higher water level and the capacity to control the flow through their 'Long Toms' , just a long wooden sluice. usually here in Vic. they are associated with stacks of clean rocks either side. the goldbearing gravels could be hydraulically sluiced or shovelled into the long tom

Thanks for a nice video, regards George. Cover the vessel with s/s lid to stop spattering.

Much admiration mate, you can see how much work you put into these trips and productions. Just a question, have you tested the purity, I think in general very very little raw gold is 24k, usually has a combination of silver and/or copper. I do specific gravity tests, the little I've found in Tasmania is between 21k and 22k.

@@Rob.Parsonsyou said at the end that it’s not legal to sell the gold in Tasmania. Why is that?

I might be in my 70s but i just love watching your videos. I have done a few hikes in Tassie back in the day.The last one was to Lake Pedda back in the 60s and before the Govt filled it in. I can see now why people call your prospecting "gold fever" it was exciting just watching your efforts. Thanks for sharing

Incredible videos! I always wonder if some of those particularly heavy ironstones that dont really want to move as you're fanning, are concealing nuggets inside :)

I'm new to the prospecting side of RU-vid. It's inspiring honestly. Besides all the precious gold, it looks like your having a great time. What a fulfilling hobby. Thanks for sharing this with all of us, in a way I feel like I've struck gold as well.

Just a small correction, you put into your gold calculator that what you have is 24K. No gold coming out of the ground is .999. One must refine the material to get it pure. Normally, the gold nuggets are usually 20K to 22K purity (83% to 92% by mass).
@scarlettardis2018

Except Australia, Tasmania and New Zealand mate. Our gold is the purest in the world, typically coming out at 23k and 24k. It's the trade in for everything being able to kill you here.
@ClaytonBigsby01

Yeah I don't think that's right. I've heard even in dahlonega ,Ga here in the states it coming out the water 98-99% pure

@@ClaytonBigsby01, you are absolutely correct. I've prospected Northern Georgia for years, and get top dollar for the 98-99% PURE gold.

Hi Rob! This adventure was amazing! You are awsome mate! So much gooold. The nature and breathtaking views of untouched Tasmania seen through your multiple camera lenses are blowing my mind. I am so jealous of your exciting life and of course considerable finds. I'll bet your friend Levi does too :))) Keep going bro. I think the big TV contract will land on your doorstep very very soon as there is nothing as good to watch as your productions. Greetings from London !
