I love how you ALWAYS make the same mistake with those players that use the same underlying OS. Like, you have 2 image files, one is Frank, the other is non-readable. You always select to play a set of image - so it plays one image at a time. Frank... then "Format Error" on the second file.
@@brandontechnerdI don't understand why those metadata files need to be in the same directory. I think it'd be nicer if it was in /var somewhere globally stored or ~/.local if that directory exists on macOS.

The thing with those older mp3 players is they only support certain types of older tag file formats, so it was kinda expected that the mp3 song name was ypS ypO ypY since he's using a newer song. If you look up info on how the mp3 tags work there's so many formats, the most prominent are ID3v1 ID3v2 ID3v2.4 ID3v3, and then you'd have to factor in the format of the text in that tag whether it was unicode UTF-8 or UCS or ASCII. Back in the 2000's I use to use a Linux program to make sure the tag files were in the correct format so they'd sort correctly.

I think the "Format Error" at the 10:00 mark is it trying to display the stupid invisible duplicate 0 kb version of everything that Mac OS leaves laying around (running a slideshow from the 'real' one to the 'empty' one).
Man, I was 10 when I got my 3rd gen nano and I have very fond memories of watching spider man on that little screen in the back seat of the minivan on long road trips. It was a gem of a design for the time. Thanks for the nostalgia bomb bud

pro tip, any time you're looking for the language option in a chinese interface, look for the two characters "语言". maybe focus on the hook thing on the left, the two boxes on the bottom, some lines on the right, whatever it takes to recognize it. it was the third option at 11:15
@@Q75 Fair enough, when I said "proper Japanese" I ment like-native/fluent writing. Basically, what I was trying to say is to write like a native Japanese u need to learn Kanji and Katakana as well, plus it makes the sentence clearer/easy to read.

The Craig is a classic S1MP3 player from back in the day. I used to work on a project to make replacement firmware for it. It ended up going nowhere as there were so many devices with the same firmware, but were all wired differently, and each firmware file had to be custom made by the manufacturer to work on their device. It'll be based on the Actions ATJ2085 chipset.
