YOU SHOULD AT LEAST TELL US THE ENTIRE STORY OF WHY YOU FIRED PETER. I KNOW YOU RELEASED A BASIC STATEMENT. THERE ARE STORIES OF HIM LETTING PEOPLE INTO THE SHOP TO WORK ON THEIR OWN CARS. WHILE NOT ACCEPTABLE, I THINK YOU SHOULD HAVE GIVEN HIM A SECOND CHANCE. YOU COULD HAVE TAKEN AWAY HIS SHOP ACCESS UNLESS YOU WERE PRESENT. IM SURE YOU HAVE MADE MISTAKES IN LIFE AND WERE GIVEN SECOND CHANCES. NOT ON HIS SIDE, BUT ITS NOT LIKE HE WAS TRAFFICKING DRUGS THROUGH YOUR GARAGE, UNLESS HE WAS AND YOU DIDNT TELL US!!!!

Never stop doing these rescue videos man. My story is that, before I knew much about cars (other than they’re super cool) I picked up a 1995 Toyota Supra 1100 miles away from me. The thing was NOT in driving condition and was down 3-4 quarts after 700 miles, which I found out after the oil pressure light came on. I added oil, then the cooling issue started. This thing was leaking coolant everywhere right at the bottom of the Grapevine in CA. I had to drive it 100 yards at a time on this tiny shoulder with Semi trucks passing inches away from us before I could get to the top of the pass and fill the rad with water. (The tires also had to be replaced somewhere along the way). All this prompted me to learn everything I could about cars and now I made a career out of it. Seeing how a master tech thinks out there in the trenches and how you limp these rough diamonds home is pinnacle entertainment/education for me! Keep it up! Btw, I ended up fixing the Supra up for a profit in the end and using the proceeds to buy my first home!

The only reason the bearings were bad was the mismatched caps. I'm surprised they could get it to turn over back when they put it together. The weird wear pattern was the clue. The bearings should last as long as the rest of the motor. That was an impressive catch! Your emory cloth and shoestring trick was something I had never seen before. After 42 years doing this I have seen most everything but I learned something today! Thank you!

It’s alright, but I wish we got more and what I mean by that is, they typically only release like 3-4 hour long videos of fixing up the cars and then move on to the next one. I wish they’d build one of them into a monster, a real bada$$ car or buy one that’s not already heavily modified and do the mods themselves. Not just get it running and driving and clean it up. Maybe I’m weird, but I feel like I connect more with the creator and cars seeing the car go from stock to built, feels like you’re there and more apart of the build in a sense.

Great repair! I suggest investing in an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. Those blue top injectors are not stock and fuel pressure should be much higher with an aftermarket tune. 21:08 The PCV valve is pushed in all the way. There’s a nipple that goes down in the grommet - weird I know! 22:50 good catch on the loose EGR valve. We tend to delete the EGR system with a block off plate. 26:12 I wish all cars had that positive notch in the valve cover gasket. Very handy when putting things back together. 27:10 don’t worry about that green wire, it’s supposed to be disconnected. It’s the under hood tach signal. There’s a black wire near there too that can be used to send power to the fuel pump. I never knew how to polish journals. Learned something new today. Nice find on the wheels, Chicago is a hot spot for Grand Nationals. Keep up the great work!

I love this episode! I'm into GN's, Typhoons/Sycones, Turbo TA's and this was a joy to watch. I changed out the rod bearings on my supercharged e30 M3 and Mk3 Toyota Supra with engine in the car about 25 years ago and they are still going strong. The supra had a bad rod knock with slightly scored journal (I didn't even polish it) and it ran like new after the rod bearing R&R. Two of the rod bearings were down to copper so this episode made me relive my experience with these two cars.

I was able to run a wider tire, but keep the stock look. Also keep an eye out for the front plastic trim pieces you're missing under the front bumper. They really complete the look of the front. Love to see these forgotten race cars of yester year!! The time stamped modifications of the 2000's are like a time capsule for muscle heads! Love the air bag in the rear right spring; likely has a eibach drag spring kit in it.

Another thing you might want to keep in mind is that you glue the gasket to the valve cover, and not to the head cork will seal to the head with no issues.

I'm glad you got a Grand National. They're super rare out here. I haven't seen a G body in over a decade on this island. I can't wait to see how this goes. I know you and Peter will take good care of her. You know your fan base likes the knowledge you expound when looking things over. Hell, your tech skills have helped me diagnose more than a few cars and trucks for folks. Most of the time, just by sound and smell alone.

@@MonzaRacer hey 👋 🤡 there are many different turbo upgrades for this platform I’m sure the current turbo setup on this GN isn’t the biggest most powerful turbo Alex could use especially with a forged engine…stop being a hater if you don’t have anything positive to say 🤓 peace be with you

Nice done! An other idea regarding the fuel starvation could be a clogged tank ventilation. That would lead to this kind of problem. Possibly not that fast though. I had this issue on a 70s Opel and one time I heard a loud bang when the tank more or less imploded.

I subscribe to a lot of automotive RU-vid channels and this is the one I most look forward to for new posts. Love everything about it. Alex and Peter are so down to earth and childlike, in a way, when it comes to builds. And the inclusion of Wifey and the characters you meet along the way and the mentoring of younger guys - it’s just all great. As a fellow Chicago guy (well, Blue Island - 127th & Western), that makes it even more worth watching now that I’ve moved to Maine. Keep it up, Alex.
