just be careful next time in diagnosing snakes based on eyes and their jaws. Black mamba has rounded eyes because it mostly hunts at day, those who are nocturnal have slits but some are non-venomous. Some non-venomous also tends to mimic the venom sack as a form of defense mechanism. A lot of venomous snakes are Taipans which has rounded eyes typically seen on Australian lands. Also, some ball pythons have cat-like eyes pero they're mostly docile and good as beginner pets. Best to leave them alone if not sure kung venomous or not. Be safe na lang next time :>

Got bitten by a Philippine Rat Snake more than a month ago 4x the size of that but I can tell it was still in juvenile stage because it's still brown in coloration. Even before that, I thought I encountered another Rat Snake because we have a small poultry here in Antique. I was naively confident that it was another rat snake because of the similar eyes and the coloration. Thinking it was still juvenile even though it was like 5 foot long and three fingers wide, I partially helped it loose because it got tangled up on the net only seconds later it stood with a hissing sound, it was a cobra! it caught me off guard and was about to bite me but I was a little bit distant, thankfully! I still helped it get away hahah

I'm glad that its a rat snake and not something worse, but pls try not to use the triangular head, slit eyes, or pits on its face to identify if its venomous. This is not a surefire way of telling if its venomous or nonvenomous. If we were to use this method than the black mamba, inland taipan, and coral snake should be non-venomous. All 3 have round heads, round eyes, and no pits on their faces. Signs indicating they are non-venoumous, yet they are classified as among most highly venomous snakes in the world.

Hindi lahat ng round eyes non venomous. Ang cobra round eyes, coral snake, black mamba atbp. Usually yung mga singkit na eyes mga viper snakes yun.

Yo man, I think ya'll got a rat infestation because normally snake don't go to human-rich areas so might want to check that out, reason for snakes appearing in houses is because of the rats... Might be wrong though

I feel so guilty na may napatay akong snake kagabi and late ko na narealize na same snake rin ang nakita ko sa nahuli nila gloco. Alam kong hindi sila threat but hindi ko alam kung paano hahawakan/huhulihin at papakawalan, aminin ko maraming daga sa part kung saan ko siya nakita pero idk what to do with it.
