I discovered this strange abandoned building and upon looking inside realized it was full of old cars. Most of them seem to have been sitting here for at least 10 years, though probably much longer.
It would make sense since the cars were part of a bankruptcy proposal, they would be technically written off, so no one would be coming to collect them unless the facility was sold..
This is the most realistic guess in my opinion. If it was just some guy who had all these why would they all for the most part be intact and basically ready to sell? I think all these cars were on the market back then but when they fizzled out for whatever reason nobody managed to post them online anywhere unless they are posted online and the url has been forgotten about but even then I can't think of anything better than what you've already stated @BigOldCar
@@martydavis7422 Not a chance. None of these cars would have qualified for that program. And further, the specific requirements for documentation and destruction would make a forgotten warehouse of candidate cars impossible.
There's always a story tied to every place, by the looks of it, whoever owned the place has come into hard times, or potentially passed away, either way leaving a collection of cars noteworthy of anyone's attention.
Cool find. My first car was an 88 grand am. Still got it. Pretty sure I saw one lurking in the shadows. People might say these cars aren't worth anything but the people in the '70s who sold their muscle cars for $200 probably thought the same. So glad you didn't share the location, I could just see jerks going in & trashing the place. Hopefully someone respectable can get ahold of the place & do repairs before it falls in.
Surprised no one is showing any love for the two straight looking late 70s Granada Sedans at 6:37. Those things are so iconically fugly and tragically named I want one.
I have said this many times before and will keep saying it. If the power is on - it is not abandoned. People leave the power on in these buildings to protect the building and the contents from humidity, mold, rot, and to keep crime out by running the lights. They have the money to put the bill on a running tab that is automatically paid every month. So long as that person;s bank account is active, they are alive. So long as they are alive, they are present. All you have to do is go into the GIS for your city, click on the building, view the tax records, see the property taxes are current and see the owner's name and where they live. 9 times out of 10 they live within 5 miles of the building so they can easily keep an eye on it. Notice the snowblower at the beginning has less dust on it than the cars do and the lawn tractor next to it.
Anything with the 3800 is really worth fixing up. Those engines will run reliably for 300,000 miles with just routine maintenance. I think the later Series IIs had some intake manifold gasket issues but those are easily sorted and good for a couple hundred thousand miles more.
Yep, lots of Buicks and Oldsmobiles, whomever owned this saw a particular value in these vehicles. They are not special looking but they were the heartbeat of America from 1987-2007. Very reliable motors from that era, unlike today.
This is amazing. I wish my state had anything remotely this cool! I hope these vehicles are rescued & owned by people who will preserve them. I bet they all have insanely low miles. No idea why there’s creepy music though, this is incredible, not spooky. I’d kill to have found this. I would have straight up done a full 360 walk around of every car & not have gotten bored. I wish the person who discovered this was an actual car guy because he would have been in heaven.
Yes I agree. This is literally heaven. I do wish this dude knew a lil more about cars. But the fact that he still shared it with everyone is pretty dope
Man there's so many cars in there I'd love to save them all. Most seem to be GM cars from the 90s and late 80s. Allot of older Buicks and Oldsmobiles in there that I'd LOVE to have.
I wouldn’t say that, as the lumber will look fairly fresh for a number of years, inside. I’ll say somebody was probably working on it, when the owner died or the place went out of business.
looks more like a room that had the sheet rock removed so they could fit another car in there. you see BX electric cable running from stud to stud in the framed wall.
Maybe a car dealership that shut down and left their used car inventory behind? That 68 Fairlane looked very nice despite the dust. So did alot of them ...
The first car outside, the white and blue land yacht looks like a 79 Lincoln Continental Mark V Bill Blass edition. The blue car just inside the door is a first generation Ford Taurus sedan. Both not easy to find. Blowing my mind to see all these cars as the last time I saw them they were driving down the roads when they were new. Nostalgia is a huge thing and guys in their late 40s and early 50s would want these cars just to have.
@@ernestomartinezros9046 In every case this goes to a property estate and the cars are listed individually and auctioned off for whatever they get as they sit. With the used car market right now due to the virus and the chips shortage and people buying used cars like mad, you might get $3 grand per car. Everything in the building that isn't a car is cleared out and sold in bulk piles for 5 bucks a piece or so. The building will be demolished if structurally unsound, the city buys the land, sells it to a new developer.
@@nikoladamjanovic2313 sir lol most of them cars are worth money not matter the condition I can’t tell u how many car groups I’m in that would talks these cars with no hesitation
You've got way more balls than me. By far. To venture like you dide in that place. I'd be scared shitless. Likes your video. Post more if you can. This reminds me of an episode from the playstation game silent hill.
Man, silent Hill on the PSX was really creepy. The reason there was so much spooky fog in that game was because the console couldn't draw that much detail in 3d, so they used the fog to hide the far away stuff, which lent to the creepy vibe.
Majority of those cars could become collectibles now. A bunch of underappreciated survivor cars all in one garage! Some of those cars can be put in a museum
If you could find out who owns the cars and a number to talk to someone about it.I collect old cars. That would be great. Nice video. Old cars are like going back in time. There nothing like sitting in 1970's and looking out the window
That is so badass. A place kinda frozen in time. And all of those 90s cars, some from the 70s, 50s. How fascinating. I wonder how would one go about buying them. If you'd even have to buy them. Or own them since technically they're not owned by anyone.
Buying the storage unit would be a great idea. keep one or two cars you like, sell the other ones that seem to be in good condition and probably low mileage, and then rent or sell the terrain for more money.

Looks like somebody closed up a used car lot about 20 years ago and, instead of taking the left over inventory to the auction, they stuffed them in this building; which in and off itself, is rare because most small used car lots have “floor plans” or a loan taken out to buy cars to resale, so most dealers would want to make these cars go away as quick as possible to pay off that loan. The owner could also have a new car franchise and these were old trade ins that he literally had no money in. He might have had a “buy here; pay here” lot at that location and closed it down. With no money in the cars and no note on the building, he might have just kept everything as a tax write off of some kind?
100% agree. I find it interesting that there was more than one fluorescent light fixture on in the building, which means someone still goes there. The only video he has posted - clickbait!
You should go back and get a handful of vin numbers and see if someone is cryogenically frozen nearby. Could be you stumbled on a stash of stolen cars someone is hoping to sell 100 years in the future
How did you determine the building and cars are abandoned? While dusty, the contents of the building, and the interior of the building look relatively ok, boxes in good shape, what's looks like some stud wall construction, maybe it is just someone's infrequently visited stash or project collectors shop? Looks like someone broke into the garage door panel, does that then make it "abandoned"?
@@jimk.9493 I don't think the cars are abandoned. I think there is a cryogenically frozen person somewhere close by that is waiting for the value of the cars to increase
There’s a pretty nice variety of older cars in that storage - A 1950 Plymouth sedan, a 1969 Ford Fairlane, a 1991 Chevrolet S10, two 1975 Mercury Monarchs, a 1983 Mercury Capri, a lot of Buick Centuries, Regals and LeSabres, as well as a couple of Oldsmobiles Cutlasses, 88s, and 98s, and a couple of Ford Tauruses, and a lot more. Very nice find. I would take every single one of those cars.
I know that building. It's not abandoned.. just because you can jump thru a window doesn't mean it's abandoned. what you're doing is called "trespassing"
Hey engrave.. I know that building. It's not abandoned.. just because you're able to jump thru the window doesn't mean it's abandoned. what you're doing is called "trespassing"
There’s never been a better time for used car sales! Whoever has ownership could easily turn over a very substantial profit. Even with the cost of repairs. A Shame if no one takes action cause the window of opportunity will not likely last long.
There were no imports in that storage, mostly oldsmobile whoever it was obviously loved American cars. That one 2 door Black Cadillac last registration was most likely the early 90's and whoever owned it decided to stop driving it or they stored it and forgotten about it. I wish, I knew the full story on every abandoned place. The owner probably died and his cars were left behind. Those are all rare cars now, I used too see a lot of those oldsmobile back in the 90's and early 2000's
Amazing! Now I know what cars are inside. This place always has the grass cut, so it IS CARED FOR. This is on a very busy road with State Police office nearby, and owners will prosecute. No i will NOT tell location, because I want to buy some of these at auction someday.
@@engrave2954 Believe me I know, did research and obiously the guy has some type of illness. He was fined multiple times and lives down the road in next county, also is or related on the town's board.
Theres something not right with this maybe a hub for a chop shop , 150 cars? owners didnt come back for their cars, repossession business that went belly up? There is a story here, if you provide cars to movie sets then this property is a gold mine for you.
78 Bill Blass Lincoln Mks V just sitting outside like that??? Just look at some of these , the two 70s Granada's , obviously I'm a Ford guy but still look at all those cars that still can be saved with a little time/ attention.
Is there a law in the states against trespass.I think people should mind there own buisness and keep off private property.I guarantee you somebody owns this pace and sees nothing strange about storing old cars out of the weather. How they keep the place Is nobody buisness. In my country you would have committed an offence. If you meet the wrong person while trespassing it could all end in tears 😢
I wish I could own that place! So many Oldsmobiles! Plus I could probably find a parts car for my 1991 grand am there. Edit: where is this. I need parts.
This is what happens when too many people find out their cars would cost more to fix than their eventual trade-in value. I went through several similar models in the 2000s. Any repair over a thousand made the car disposable, whatever you'd paid for it.
Nice cars hope those cars didn't up in scrap hope someone auction it Ill wish had place like that have those cars Clean up driving them hope they survive hope nobody goes there to vandalized it
@7:55 that's a 69 Chevy impala, clearly people that have got in there have been interested in it, it's one of the most valuable there in it's condition.
@@chrismc.4437 with the prices of used vehicles through the roof many of these vehicles would sell quickly. Not for a ton of money but it would bring some money in for repairs due to the seals and rubbers worn out. Selling them with brand new tires would make a tire shop a bit richer.
Note how much cleaner the windows and paint are. Someone else has been in there checking out specific cars... maybe the owner, maybe an admirer, maybe something more nefarious
@@chrismc.4437 ? My friend has an *abandoned* tiny gas station 100 yards from his house. It is a pit stop for bikers who stop by to rest. He even keeps a picnic table there. Last year some you-tuber *discovered* it and to gain access ,tore a hole in the back wall! Filmed it, put it on youtube. Not everything is abandon and free public access. If it were me, I would have pressed charges for destruction of a private property...
Probably one of those old farts who will never let anything go, just to sit and rot and waste away. A lot of perfectly good rides in there I bet. Some of them look hardly driven. Just an absolute waste. Someone out there is just lazy as shit. Or the bank wants farrrrr too much for the property.
How come this video is the only thing on your channel and was made the same day you made the channel? This channel has nothing to it other than this video.
What I want to know is what happened here I love older gm cars and you should have checked km on some of them not all are digital around those years please update if you find out what happened and why are all these cars sitting there some of them probably would still run there not out in the rain or anything so I bet atleast 10 of them would run for sure these Oldsmobile are though cars trust me
