Hello Buddies,
Unfortunately there are some very cruel people out there in the world.
The person who abandoned her near the trash bins have risked her life, someone could just take the box she was in and throw her inside the trash bin.
She and I are both lucky that we found each other.
We treated her carefully and she now looks healthy.
The next step would probably be to find her a new home.

We had a very similar experience with a cat. Someone left her on the sidewalk taped up in a cardboard box with airholes and a note saying her name was Lady and she was 12 years old. We adopted her immediately and took her to the vet to make sure she was healthy. She passed away from jaw cancer 8 months later but at least she was loved and cared for up until the end. I can't believe how cruel people can be! You are one of the good ones!

The fact u took her in was enough for her. I’ve lost one of my cats and honestly it’s so painful so I just can’t imagine ppl throwing their pets away. Pets are family. Some ppl honestly don’t deserve them

May we take a moment to thank the OP for taking the bird in and tending to it's needs. The world is full of cruel and horrible people, but it's the angels hiding in human clothing like this person and all others who tend to these animals that are the heros that these animals need.

I think a child was trying to care for it, and when one or both of the parents found out, they told the child they were taking it to the vet, only to throw the poor bird out. They probably went back and told the child that, "oh, you're not allowed to own birds like that, so the vet is sending it to a sanctuary" sounds outlandish and horrible, but I had a friend that had evil parents like this.

@Esau Davis And I agree, but what isn't fair is throwing the bird in the trash in a closed box. It literally had a 0% chance of survival for two reasons, it's a domestic bird, and the box was closed. I agree, kids should never get pets w/o parent's permission, but the least the parents could have done was try to rehome it.

She will love you forever for saving her from that nasty box! Give her a little salad with her seeds and she will think you are the best thing ever! She will probably like apple too! @@Dwaxxx Many people don't know how to have a balanced diet without eating meat. I don't know what would happen to me if I didn't eat red meat - my iron level is low as in many women. But that doesn't mean eating meat is not a sin. The whole Western culture and well as Christianity has to be changed I'm accordance that killing animals is a sin. If it ever happens, it will take centuries. But you should be able to consider the complexity of the situation (about eating chicken in a restaurant) as opposed to the bird that is still alive and can be saved.

Always amazes me how people can be so cruel to abandon such helpless animals. Whether it's a bird, mouse, lizard, dog, cat etc. There's just no need. There are rescues, and people willing to adopt. Thank you for finding and taking in this beautiful bird! Others aren't always this lucky :(

Thank you so much for saving the poor bird. The people who put it out for garbage are garbage themselves. If you hadn't found it and the trash collectors hadn't noticed the airholes it would have been killed in the truck. I don’t know about you guys but this seems fake to me. For one what was he doing at a dumpster and two if the owner wanted to leave it to die do you think they would of poked holes in the top or given it bread. And who stops puts the lid back on pulls out there camera just to show us the bird wouldn’t you have brought it home first. To me this is fake.

It looked so happy while it was eating the seeds! I love birds ^w^ there was this robin fledgling that was abandoned by its parents (it should have been able to fly, but slight deformities made doing so very difficult), so I took her in and took care of her. With a bit of help, she managed to learn how to fly! She's mostly where my strong love for birds comes from.

What are the odds that this person walks around and suddenly this hidden box catches his attention!? Very small chance! I get an odd feeling. "Rescue videos" are big business and some create them on purpose to cash in. Maybe this birdie was in danger, maybe he wasn't. They could have given it away or at the very least, released it into the wild. I actually have 2 parrots at my grandma’s house. the story is: My great-grandma got these birds. My great-grandma had a surgery but she was so old that she couldn’t recover from the surgery. The parrots were never named because she died. She just called them “birdies”. I was crying the whole school even coming home. I will call them birdies as to honor my great-grandma.

I used to have a white gray canary like that one but it got sick and passed away last year. This video reminds me alot of him thank you for saving this bird.

Humane society, animal services, rescue organizations with web pages, these are all free places that will take an animal in. Yet people decide to throw away animal in the trash! Too many people don't care about anything but themselves. Thank you for caring about others and being a good human.

Sick people in this world, these beautiful creatures expose what's in our heart and soul and I'm convinced those who are kind hearted will reap the treasures in heaven and those who are cruel hearted will bih forever 😊i would love to have this bird and spoil it with love.
