02:46 Youre correct. It was the Genesee Valley Canal first then it became the Genesee Valley Canal Railroad, ...various buys and name changes..., and ultimately part of the Pennsylvania Railroad before being abandoned.

My buddy Gene is a retired gym teacher and NCAA basketball ref. He lives in Rochester half the year. He comes down to the South Carolina Lowcountry the other half. Can’t wait to tell him what I have learned about his hometown. He is a grump but I love him. (Twenty five years and miles older than me)

This was cool :) Here in the UK there were first canals with tow paths (many of which remain as walking trails now), then the canals were replaced with the speedier train. Might be the same there. ExxonMobil... you should write them and ask what their plans are. Bad people.

I can just imagine, the number of factories in Rochester and Syracuse NY, that closed, and shifted production overseas. I've never been to Rochester NY, but I probabbly guess, in the late 1960s and earlier, there were many beautiful factories with huge smokestaks and small squared windows providing well paying jobs for the locals. This is all gone now sadly...

It reminds me of that tv series called, "Life After People." It's amazing and cool how quickly nature takes back control of an area.

I once bought a old canoe from a auction that was half full of water so I figured it was atleast water tight. Great adventure. Any good tires I need a set.

I enjoyed it. Before the Ukrainian invasion...you could actually take a tour of the Chernobyl nuclear accident site and the surrounding city of Pripyat. Did the tour on the 25th anniversary of the accident and it's crazy what 25 years does to a city...forest swallowed up pretty much everything. In 100 years...will be nothing left...sort of like your video.
