The more & more you play the greater you’ll be able to predict the route ur opponent will most likely take with the ball or at least the route that could most likely lead to you conceding a goal. Drag your defenders in that particular area where you see an opportunity for your opponent, but for the most part you don’t want to be too aggressive in dragging players out of their position too far (which would leave another open gap). You can make a risky adjustment if your sure your opponent will make a particular move.
You don’t want to chase the ball. You want to keep your formation as much as possible to wait for your opponent to mess up so you can charge in with a tackle. I really struggled with it but few months of playing squad battles on legendary will help you a tonne. A few tips that work for me is to not jockey so much. Just control your defending player with the left stick and occasionally hold r1 (ps5) which is 2nd man press. Be patient. Let your opponent come to you. Practice advanced defending. The timing of pressing circle at the right time. I try control my cdms as much as possible whilst second pressing the rest of the team. Also to prevent cut back merchants when they are charging down the wing chase them down with a player you are controlling and double tap r1. It makes your teammates cut the passing lanes. Good luck you will get better!
When a players runs down the line, let him do it. Switch to CB and block all passing lanes, most players are clueless and play with haste so they pass straight into ur defender when they don’t and dribble switch back and take ball, works every time, got 19w this WL
What do i do when defending and my man behind the player with the ball. Do I chase him, do I chose my player who face him or do I leave to AI to sort this situation out? I switching amongst all of them and lose. How do I know? Thank you for all your replies
Dribbling doesn't work in this pile of garbage so called game,been playing this crap since the first ever realise of the fifa franchise,so thrust me i know everything mechanic that's ever been programmed into the game,but this year's so called garbage is the worst edition ever,i love left stick Dribbling,but this year's edition is so broken that you can't even do the fundamentals properly and if you can't do a simple zig zag emotions that just tells you how badly programmed the game is,ea makes bronze cards play like prime icons and special cards feel like bronze all because of the poor programming,sometimes you can dribble perfectly,then your next command its like your trying to move a double decker bus,player's are made to believe that it's to do with server's overloading which thrust me isn't the case,its all down to game codings,look at squad battles you go into a game on world class yet it feels like your on ultimate because ea coding can determine certain patterns in game,dda thrust me is in the game,ea and all the so called clowns on twitch,RU-vid etc can say otherwise because there all little ass kissers to this so called ea sports franchise and are afraid to be banned,why do you think fifa no longer wasted to be part of this franchise because they where fed-up with how this so called company exploits there community,for greed and fortune,and breaks the so called fifa fareplay rules
