The "ad" label is actually the BRAND paying for ads for the video (and you still get commissions from those, which is the wild part of this - but your video has to do well organically first in order for them to do that)

Good video, but missing an important sentence upfront: Tik Tok Shop accessibility is only available in the US, UK, and a few Asian countries. Everywhere else, like Australia where I’m from, it’s not. (While the video made it clear that this wasn’t about having a shop ourselves, it did make it clear that we need to sign up for the affiliate program VIA the TT shop sign up).

@@saitamasensei3953 there are a lot of businesses and online services these days that can set up a US LLC and the various tax forms you need to use as an overseas resident (W8BEN-E for example). Just keep in mind that you really have to want to do it, because it does come with a regular cost and tax administration requirements. It’s a little bit like having to do all of that ABN/ACN/GST set up in Australia, just more complicated being from a different country. And not wanting to be negative, but you can do all that, only for TikTok to still know (or suspect) that you are not residing in the US, and therefore still restricting the shop functionality for you.

Just a heads up when signing up you need to give a picture of your ID, last 4 of your ss#, phone number. It also looks like you have to fill out some tax information as well to get verified as a shop owner.

My understanding of the TikTok ban is that it will not go away even if passed. They will just restructure the business entity of TikTok to comply with whatever laws get passed, but keep the platform in tact.

The only thing I disagree with is deleting your old videos. I had a video that when posted had very minimal views. It was stagnant for just about a month (2,000 views) and then randomly sparked up and hit 3.4m views bringing in 9k commissions.

Hey Spencer, is there a way around the probation period for a new account? I just went through the process and signed up for the tiktok shop, linked my account, but then there is no way to access the product page to be an affiliate. Chatted with an agent and sounds like you need link a marketing account to be able to be an affiliate but you can't link a marketing account until you go through the probation period from what I can tell. Any thoughts?

@@Buildapreneur I have the shop icon and everything was linked up ok but when I go to the tik tok shop creator center there is no link for the product page to promote products..I messaged support and they said you have to have a marketing account and can't link one of those until you get through the probation period. Sounds like you either need the 5000 followers to do this or need to sell products for a month or two on your own personal tiktok shop before you can get access to the affiliate program. Unless you know of another work around?

I'm working on a full tutorial - but you basically click on your shop button on your profile, click on a product you recommend, then you can make a video from the product page

Realize he gives big earnings then says the amount in profit. Which means those making that money are putting in alot of money. All that matters is that there is no risk and there profit.
