I have a Karl theory: when you get close I always hear Karl say something. I think he is saying " I've been watching you." I think you should investigate on that.

Theory: When the developers were making the game they wanted to test AI vehicles to see how well they would function, and Karl and Karla were made as test prototypes to see how well they would function. But as the game went for a more mad max sort of style the idea for NPC drivers or NPC Cars was abandoned and so they were removed which is why we don't see NPC cars in the game unless you use mods. But unbeknownst to the developers, these prototype cars were not removed and were still in the code for the game. Feeling betrayed Karl roams the open road looking for his next victim. As for Karla, many would say that she can be seen racing through the desert. But she never reaches the other side.

Theory: Karl got bullied by the other cars, so he tries to kill everyone even the other cars. That would explain all the cars rolling down the road! He also is teaming with the bunnies. But hey that's just a theory, a game theory!!

Here is my theory of Karl and/or Karla: They both do not know that they are in different versions of the game and continuously look for each other. Karl probably thinks the player is a threat and keeps haunting you.

Karl Theory: Karl maybe was in the development when the owners were making the game, but when the time came to open the game up to the public, the owners must of removed him and the most early cars, but he managed to survive and Karla was just like him, a survivor, so they hate players and curse people and are intelligent enough to make those sounds when something bad happens (Or maybe it is the Editor).

2 theorys: Karl and Karla were the first model of the cars but new cars got added and their script broke to make them drive around when something is loading in. Next theory is that the devs put them in the game to make the game a little bit easier when you know that they tell you danger is coming.

Theory: Karl was a virus in the game that got deleted but remnants of the virus are still trapped in the game. Karla was the anti-virus and the 2 are enemies

Theory : Karl was a good guy in the early versions of the long drive he became worse and worse got removed from the game then the devs added karl back in

I think Karl is some sort of unatural being that has the ability to temper with reality, meaning that the car crash that happened was because of Karl. Maybe the car that camodo rode in WAS Karl.

How to get Karla and Karl together, make a save with Karl in single player then go to the code of the game if possible then spawn Karla or just paint Karla blue.

Karl Theory: I think I have reason to believe that Karl is supposed to be more or less of an enhanced version of all the other AI cars (despite his simplistic appearence). Karl demonstrated his understanding of his surroundings when Camodo observed Karl successfully speed down the road and avoid colliding into the other AIs that were driving there too. Edit: I believe Karl looks so simple because devs NEEDED a way to separately classify him from the other AIs who drive all the other car models, so the devs just slapped Karl's program into a car design that sticks out the most for further development.

Karl was the first version of the car, all of the other versions were deleted so now he roams the desert looking for the person who did it to hopefully get revenge.

Theory: Both Karla and Karl were test cars in the super early times of the game, they were thought to be used in the future game, but when the devs decided to make the game more realistic and have no names above to show what car it was. But Karl and Karla was forgotten, since the devs made new cars to use instead of redesigning Karl and Karla they deserted them now they come back to haunt and get revenge on the players and with hope, the devs, Karla and Karl spilt up to hunt down the players and devs, but probably Karl lost Karla, so he might have thought the players got rid of Karla, seeking more revenge, and finding Karla while doing that, Karla was stuck in the multiplayer test build while Karl is stuck in the normal solo game and got glitched.

Theory for Karl: He is one of the forgotten car design from the devs of the long drive and is back to hunt down the devs. Theory for Karla: Karla is Karl's sibling/cousin that has been separated for too long and are trying to get back together.

Karl theory: Karl were Karla from when the game was unfinished and after Karl caused Camodo some trouble he decided it would be better to help Camodo.

Theory : maybe Karl need a friend but bad luck like death follows him big brain

KarL/KarLa theory: In VERY early builds, they were together as brother and sister, they lived in peace together. With the introduction of multiplayer, only one KarL/KarLa could be in each world, with the exception of KarL/KarLa land They were split up, and ever since then, they have been trying to get back together. When KarL heard you were trying to find KarLa, he became your friend (or did he?) Love this series man, keep it up!

Here’s a very believable theory: Karl and KarLa were made as test cars, they were given little names by the devs, much like how Mojang code names assets going into Minecraft. KarLa is controlled by the devs because they were able to disable her AI but Karl got away with AI during KarLa’s AI deletion and he’s trying to find her AI though he thinks the player is a dev and he’s trying to murder the dev but now that you have talks about KarLa he’s helping you and he’s trying to assist you despite him not knowing he can never see her again.

Karl definitely says something when he drives by, but it kinda changes sometimes I hear him humming thought, maybe Karl says a certain thing at certain times and that's what causes life or death

I've decided to edit my Theory of Karl: Karl was a test for a toy car during the actual creating of the game ,Karl was a toy car for boys and Karla was for girls. but once the devs took a break from modelling, they decided that they should screw the idea and not touch the model again, thats why the car is a normal sized car. ( they thought the idea would takeoff but lets say it exploded on the runway ). But the devs forgot to remove Karl and Karla. Karl now drives around looking for Karla to play or to "toy" with ;) As soon as he sees a car he gets really excited because he thinks its Karla, but when he finds out its not he gets pretty upset and curses them with bad luck. What do you guys think? this one or the old one? Karl Theory 2: After the friendly dev cars Karl and his wife Karla were corrupted, they suddenly disappeared into different biomes and now they can't find each other now, the only way to find them is lights. after she disappeared into a biome… she disappeared to nowhere, nowhere to be found. so you have to spawn her and her long-lost husband has to drive around to find her, he might have been crying out his wife's name inside his head for a long time but now he stops saying her name inside of his head when he is found by a player, after the corrupted sees the player, he keeps driving countinuing to find his long-lost wife. (It is just a Theory)
