Exploring with my metal detector today in the wood of NH I was not sure where I would end up. I hit the woods and just started hiking and reading the land as I went and it worked out very well. At first I found a couple of strips of old rock walls in somewhat strange locations but it meant people were out here working hundreds of years ago so I kept going until I hit cart path. Followed that till it dissolved into the forest and came out to a section of the old overgrown farm that had not been logged. Turned on my Fisher F19 and within a minute found a 1700's Tombac button...wow! metal detecting old places like this deserted farm you never know where the relics are going to be away from the cellar hole. I spent a couple hours in this one area and found a bunch of buttons and stuff.
