@@Wild.cat.adventures I spent five years in the Scottish Highlands. I prefer a hammock where I can. Allways I carry a poncho/small tarp, wool blanket and plastic sheeting. I've stayed in many of these shelters in the winter months. Yes, it's a pity some leave them in a mess. Sometimes I've come back after a couple of nights with more rubbish than my own !!!
Cat ,love the fact that you don't try to hide anything or glamourize your camps. You could have left out your fight under the tree, and bless you that you admitted the place was a tip when you got there. And putting those boys to shame that they could not get a fire going. When I was a 12-15 year old wee would be camping fishing, gutting fish for dinner. Wpw changed days I just presume lads still do camping. Anyway by far the most real camping vlog, and most down to earth lass in this field. Keep up the great work.
Keeping it real like Ian beal lol! Shame it was such a tip but I did my bit to make it presentable again. Sadly kids these days would rather watch a video game of camping than do the real thing lol! Catch u on the next vid 😊
I used to stay in colwyn Bay as a kid as we had family in North wales. Great heading to the beach. The walk back to the house was an exercise, though. No one accidentally left their handbreak off on that road. Was close to a 45-degree incline for a quarter of a mile just to get back to the house
Hello 👋 my outdoors friend, greetings from Northern California. I just came across your channel. Thank you for sharing this camping 🏕 adventure. Take good care of yourself and always stay safe. 😊
Fabulous video Cat. In this modern world with Google you'd think people would be able to start a fire lol. I'd struggle to sleep there, sound of the running water would not help lol. Keep Loving the Adventure 🙏
Cheers Asa just common sense would surely tell u to start with small twigs not logs haha! The waterfall sounds were nice, like white noise but I guess we're all different!
A baccy tin fire starting kit, nice 👍🏻 Love the Welsh countryside. Subbed as your humour is 👌🏻 I used to follow some other wild campers / hikers but they took themselves too seriously and it became a chore to watch. In times like this, sometimes a bit of silliness is needed ( tinfoil hat 🤣) as we say here, Proper Job 🍺
Another great video & congrats. on passing the 4k subscriber mark 🍾. I know you want to get to the 5k mark and I'm sure you will eventually it's just a matter of time so enjoy the journey 😁

Nice one Cat, the first cabin looked a bit rickety, gutted you couldn't get in the 2nd, well done on helping the lads start their fire 🤣🤣🤣 that turret is cool, put a tarp over it and it'd be nice and cozy 😊 I think the cabin you ended up at is better than the first, more rustic and open to nature 👌 looks like the alcohol stove is now well in retirement 😉🤣🤣🤣 #jetboil 🤣🤣🤣 can't beat that morning coffee 🤤 nice hat 🤣🤣🤣 great vid, catch you soon, atb Paul 🙏 🏕🏕🏕😁
No idea why your comment was held for review mate, weird! Sadly the floor of the turret is full of boulders/bricks but there's enough room for a tent so may go back there at some point. I'm definitely bagging the 1st cabin next time! Thanks for watching 😊
I can sympathise with feeling knackered after taking a wrong turn, as just one can use up a lot of time and energy when you've a heavy pack to carry. Even with google earth things can look very different on the ground and it's easy to do. Still, it was worth it to find that hill-top. I'm curious what vivid dreams you had while sleeping in the cabin. It did have an atmosphere, and being open sided I can understand why you might have felt a bit exposed so close to the path.
@@Wild.cat.adventures Haha, yeah! Recently I took one slight wrong turn that became hours of slogging in the blazing hot sun. Got there in the end but was shattered! Did you get to camp on that hill since this video? If not, maybe you could do a two-nighter where you stay at that shelter one night and the hill on the other. It looks like such beautiful country out there it's gotta be worth the extra day to soak it all in.
Whilst the Canadian cabin was very nice compared to the 'Deliverance' building, it certainly had a nicer location with the waterfall. Personally I think you got the better of the two places, though I'm surprised you didn't hear banjos.
👍😁 Hiya Cat.. yep, nowt worse than having a plan , even imagining the videos youll take along the way, only to find your plan A was taken.. But, it was good to see the lads enjoying themselfs after a bit schooling from the bushcraftCat 😁 Fantastic looking location even if it is a hard leg day hike .. Still made a great video Cat and glad you saw it through, although that wildcamp spot looked pretty epic also 😁👍 Takecare Cat see you on your next adventure 👍 P.s as for the knife and anxiety, youve more chance having bother whilst out doing your weekly shop.. 🤣 but yeah, them knee high steps are a killer 🥵🥵 i have to scramble up some of them 3 points of contact at all times.. 🤣😁
Haha they were totally clueless but nice enough. They had climbed snowdon that morning, fair play to em! It was a tough call leaving that look out post, beautiful views from there, will definitely be back! And I'll bag that cabin too! Ur right it was just worrying about nothing, just usually I'm hidden away, felt too exposed there. Still enjoyed myself either way!
@@Wild.cat.adventures But seriously, have you ever seen or heard anything that was...let's say supra normal? I dislike para normal as a term, I think it's over used.
yeah but now yt tells me ive subbed to too many or it wont let me stay subbed to certain channels, i bet this happens to lots of people and causes hosts to suffer, i dont know why yt wants to ruin a good thing, anyway great vid thx!
It’s interesting how everybody filters drinking water in the hills now. Probably just very lucky but I’ve never used one and never been ill as a result of drinking untreated water. 45 plus years ago, when I started, nobody seemed to treat drinking water unless going abroad, where the standard technique was a few drops of iodine, wait a specified time, then add the same number of drops of a thiosulphate solution to neutralise the iodine - the water still tasted foul and we usually ended up just drinking it raw and taking the chance.
@@Fellwander people died of dysentery and diarrhea all the time before we had proper sanitation and a health system. You only have to look at the developing world to see the difference. Boiling water will kill most viruses and bacteria but most people don't realise it should be a rolling boil for at least 3 mins to do this. It does not remove heavy metals like lead which also kills people fortunately now less common but still happens or chemicals. Chemicals have been polluting our land and water since the industrial revolution, you are unlikely to get ill straight away from chemicals and heavy metals, it's usually a build up as our bodies struggle to process them and often they cause other issues you might not associate such as cardiovascular disease. We didn't have the small filters we do now to carry into the hills, we only had boiling and chlorine or iodine to use. It is wise to take advantage of advances in technology when it comes to being ill/slow poisoning/death! Sorry for the rant haha!
I drank water from a beautiful bubbling stream in the Welsh mountains as youngster and then found a dead bloated sheep further up stream, thankfully I was OK. Never forgotten that though and I will always use my Grayl water filter now.
@@SnowyAspenHillsyou know how many times I heard that sheep in the river story 🙄.. It never happened... Stop making stuff up. The sheep in the river is every townie campers urban myth.. I don't believe you

Looking fitter each time.its nice you show us your experiences.im in my mid 60s and can't go far ,so I much appreciate you taking us on adventures. When I used to sleep in a bothy on a secluded beach I'd keep checking..torch..knife..
Thanks! I know several bothies on secluded beaches, will be back in Scotland in a couple of weeks, might be a bothy stay in one of them! Hope u can still get out in nature even if it's not far.
@Wild.cat.adventures ,I like horror movies too. I actually live off grid in a log "cabbin in the woods" on my land near Fraser Island in Australia and do a lot of camping. Some of it quite extreme. I am ment to be camping right now in the snow on Mt Kosciuszko but I broke my foot real bad so here I am on the internet. Enjoy your adventures, they make life great. 😊
@@iam7712 Sorry to hear bout your foot, hope you get better soon! Love a bit of mountain camping in the snow! Weird to think it's winter there when it's summer here!
How on earth can you people do that? I’ve run marathons from 1985 until 2007 and what you people do is something I could never do. It’s just way too much, the planning and the daily stresses. Way out of my realm.
@@Bretski126 I can't imagine running a marathon not a chance I could do that lol! We're all good at some things and bad at other things, play to your strengths 👍
Maybe you should have stayed at the top , where you were comfortable??? It's ok to change your plans , without having the change of plan forced onto you... anyway a good video. Take care out there.
I just had it in my head to camp at one of the shelters so that's what I did lol! I'll be back there again at some point both the cabin and the look out we're great spots 👍
@@Wild.cat.adventures Trust me, when I say you're prettier than Eva zu Beck. I have an astounding weakness when it comes to brunettes it seems. When you got stuck under that log, I was frantically scanning your fingers for the shiny rocks stuck on metal. 🤞 I didn't see any. Lucky me. Now, hopefully you think I'm quite dashing and not creepy? Either way, your content is pretty compelling. I must protest the use of powdered coffee though. YUCK!
Karen right now is promoting a tent she has never used and wont use and didnt even set up her self , meanwhile theres people like you that actually puts in the work hence all the views
As I said before I won't comment on Karen because she is a friend and I know she's going through a tough time. But yes I do put in a lot of hard work and it seems to be paying off 😊
