Solving mysteries is so much fun! Especially when they turn out to be bigger than you thought! I thought I would be following one old RR grade to the Silver River and it turned out there were two old grades that went away from the river into the woods. I believe these were from the Hebard days at Pequaming but they could have been into the Ford era as well. They came across the Silver River on the old log bridge and merged just before going across it then took the rails to Pequaming. It was very difficult walking but also enjoyable! The Abutement Falls were beautiful seen from the North side of the river and I am pretty sure no engine went off the concrete abutement bridge in the deep pool here which is not so deep right now. Finding the start of a beaver house was pretty exciting as well!
