Idea of shield enchantment: If you use the shield in the other hand and a mob attacks, you will automatically protect yourself. It just works with mobs. But the duration of the shield is shorter.
I like the idea of amethyst lanterns giving off "phantom light", something that doesn't give of light, but still makes it impossible for mobs to spawn nearby This would allow us to make dark alleyways without it turning into a mob shitstorm
The opposite of Copper Lanterns. Cool. The only problem is setting the colour of the place. It *has* to be purple for this, and it *has* to be green for the Copper one.
Amethyst needs to act as a "fuel" of sorts to justify its renewability. Maybe a magic wand that consumes amethyst when casting spells (like descibed in the amethyst golem video) or a new type of utility table that uses amethyst, similar to how enchanting tables use lapis.
Personally, I feel like lapis doesn't have enough uses either, especially given how much of it you always get from the ores (like think about it... lapis and redstone have the same drop rates, but redstone is used for a LOT of different things, while lapis is only used for dye and enchanting).

There is an unused texture in the game files called "calibrated_skulk_sensor". It is the same texture as the Skulk blocks but it has a transparent amethyst block texture overlaying it. Clearly, it's an incomplete texture that may not even get added but perhaps this is a hint that amethyst may soon be used to "calibrate" the sensor to specific frequencies without the need to build a comparator circuit.
I think for another use of the amethyst shard, creating a dream catcher. It will be an element to improve your bed and will allow you to sleep with monsters that are close to you, very useful for monster farms. It would be made with three pieces of amethyst, two threads and four sticks
instead of amethyst armor I think it would be more fitting to combine a amethyst block with a piece of diamond armor to create "crystal armor" which would still have the same strength of diamond but would have slight healing properties the more pieces you have on making you need to choose between vitality, toughness, or a mix of the two
Yes and no... I feel like its too unspecific, it detects the nearest mob, regardless of y level and regardless of distance... that means you could be looking for a cave and the whole time its really just a pig chilling on the surface.
Other idea for amethyst armor: You can do it on smiting table, combining you gold rose armor and amethyst shards. It is armor named: Rose gold (armor part) with amethyst Itsa rose armor, but now with spikes 1 enchant. Also, if you holding torch with full armor and holding shift, you can add blind effect on mobs you attack, cuz light is mirroring light on mobs. k.
Maybe the amethyst could be used in a new redstone block called a "redstone projector", this new block could shoot a purple beam of energy and giving the redstone signal that was put into the projector to the block that collides with the beam.

I'm 99.9% certain I already mentioned this idea in another on of your videos, but I like the idea of an amethyst windchime that basically acts as a weather detector, with different redstone signal strengths for clear weather, rainy weather, and thunderstorms.

Hello SystemZee, I have a set of ideas for you. It might take an entire video to showcase... Idea: Citrine shard How to obtain it: cook an Amethyst shard with a furnace An orange crystal shard. Uses: 1. Citrine lantern How to obtain it: Same as an Amethyst lantern. But a Citrine shard is used. A lantern that gives an orange light. It attracts mobs. 2. Citrine block How to obtain it: Combine 4 Citrine shards in a box shape It is a block that can grow Citrine shards. It can look like an orange Amethyst block. When it is placed under a noteblock, it produces a flute sound.
You could use amethyst to make actual wind chimes or a sword that does a lot of damage but extremely low durability or use it to build some sort of magic station to make staffs and other magic items.
Idea for an amethyst object: Wind chimes of amethyst! it is crafted with three amethysts, three strings and three twigs. It can be hung from ceilings like a lantern, but also works in your hand or inventory. When a hostile mob is at least 10 blocks from the wind chimes, it will make a sound like a bell, warning you. It is useful for camping at night when you have no torches, to prevent zombies from jumping on turtle eggs and to warn if a creeper will try to blow up you and your house.
I like the idea of quartz being used for daylight detectors, and amethyst being used for moonlight detectors... the problem is, you can already invert daylight detectors by right clicking them, so adding this would be taking away from an existing feature just to inconvenience people by making them have to use amethyst instead. :(
I would love for the amethyst to be used to make some kind of light detector similar to a comparator outputting a redstone signal depending on how many items are in a hopper but instead it would put a redstone signal out for how high the light level is
There should be different charms that can be obtained by mixing potions with normal charms with a special enchanting table called the Shimmering Table(if you have a better name pls reply, I am bad at naming things). You cannot combine charms of different potions nor put potion of the turtle master on a charm, however, you can mix haste, blinding, absorption etc by using a command. These charms can be stuck onto your shield or onto a ring of gold which you can combine with a sword, bow or tool. The charms have a 15% chance to gift the user with the effect that was combined with it for 20 brief seconds. The charm’s activation chance is raised by 4% whenever you kill a mob but reset back to 15% if you have taken 2 hearts of damage. The durability of a charm is raised whenever you breed a mob, trade with a villager or cure a villager. This would be very useful in pvp to apply strength to a netherite sword or in playthroughs to use a mob farm to extend the chances of activation as much as possible.
If the amethyst compass points to the nearest mob and the amethyst lantern scared away mobs, what if a block gave of a red stone signal depending on how close the nearest mob is, the strength of the signal being stronger as the mob gets closer. Maybe it could have different modes to detect only friendly mobs or hostile ones, or both. Maybe it just gives off different strengths of signal depending on if it’s hostile or not. Craft it with, for example, amethyst and a lightning rod to make an “Amethyst Antenna”, which would also make copper have another use. (Just came from that video.)
Emerald Armour is something we NEED in Minecraft tho So it’s basically like netherite so you could enhance Diamond armour Netherite - gives more protection Emerald - gives you more Crits when attacking with you sword **so basically it means you don’t need to jump to crit*
Amethyst armor should be added and it has a 25% chance of dealing thorns damage to a mob and make it about the equivalent to iron but a little weaker, yet has the same durability. It’s at the cost of a little protection, but I think it would be pretty cool. Tools would be at a low 100 durability or so, but when you mine ores it gives you a random fortune enchantment. Maybe, since Amethyst is sensitive to mobs in this concept, they could be used to make a Sensor that would be active when two sensors are facing each other. When active, it'd sort of work like a tripwire, but without the need for string, and could be covered with a sort of block plaster that would make it more subtle to other players.
Cool use for Amethyst: Charmed items Expanding the charmed shield idea, maybe you can use amethyst to give items a kind of charm affect that's like the curses that tools can have, but more beneficial. The one that has a chance to heal you could be called the Charm of Life and could only be applied to armor and shields. Obviously, these would have their own expensive recipes, but I think they could work well. Some other ideas: Charm of Vigor: can be applied to any tool/armor; causes your hunger bar to drop more slowly when the item is held/worn Charm of Shielding: small chance to nullify damage Charm of Loyalty: the most expensive to make; items with this will stay in your inventory if you die, but only once Charm of Guidance: for bows, crossbows, and tridents; gives them a homing affect being able to make Cursed charms and using them to apply the curses that will activate when they are dropped then picked up for trolling purposes
I think the amethyst shield would make the normal shield useless because everybody would want an upgraded one and nobody would use the original, maybe add a smaller durability to the amethyst shield. The lantern could be more interesting if you couldn't collect it when breaking after it was placed on the ground/ceiling, that way it would make it less OP and harder to acquire. Compass seems good to me, but should have a range to detect the mobs because if the mobs happens to be in a dungeon or stronghold it would reveal the structures. Interesting enchanted book idea, although you should be able to level up the book's enchantment point only once, because if you have four amethyst charms you could go from sharpness I to V, which is extremly overpowered (only my opinions above no hate, great video)
I think light mechanics should have an update, first of all, before I bring amethyst geode into the mix, imagine a Redstone lamp in the air, then 6 opaque blocks are placed each touching one face of the lamp, if you remove one of the blocks, then the light should be focused in that position 6x as much as it would be if the light wasn’t surrounded by the 5 other blocks. If two blocks were removed, it is focused in those two directions 3x as much, if three blocks then 2x, if 4 blocks then 1.5x, if 5 blocks then 1.2x. You can craft an item called _amethyst prism_ using the recipe for TNT replacing all the gunpowder with glass and the sand with amethyst geode. The prism can be dyed. Using the update I requested in the paragraph above, the prism is useful because it can be placed in an exposed face of the lamp, this will amplify the amount of light produced in all directions by 2x. Placing a dyed prism would not only amplify the amount of light produced but it will also change the colour of the light to the same colour in the dye used to craft the dyed prism. This is an interesting way to introduce coloured lamps. If you have any changes then pls reply.
This idea doesn't relate to the Cave Ubdate but here it is: A new redstone component called "Ubdater" that would be able to change the direction of pistons,hoppers,disspensers etc , change the delay of repeaters , lock hoppers and reapeaters and the way it would know what to do is to have it powered by a dust to change the direction, by a repeater to change the delay of other repeaters and torch to lock hoppers and repeaters(this is just an example you can make it however you want)
Redstone block ideas with Amethyst: Vibration extender: Combined with Skulk sensors, a Redstone Vibration Extender allows vibrations to be extended and dispersed to multiple other skulk sensors within an area (still affected by wool). This can be used when skulk sensors themselves can be in short supply, or when another redstone circuit is in the vicinity and doesn't need to be activated by an adjacent skulk sensor. This can also be used to artificially extend the length of time between skulk sensors. (Do note: The Redstone Vibration Extender itself cannot create a redstone signal, only carry skulk vibrations further to other, more far away skulk sensors.) It can looks like a 6 way loud speaker stuffed with the purple gem. Redstone timer: Instead of building bulky timing systems using repeaters, comparitors, pistons, and observers, use a redstone timer! With a redstone timer, you can set the value anywhere from 1-20 (or more depending) that will send out a redstone signal after exactly the amount of redstone ticks it is set to, and will repeatedly do that until turned off. Possibly more soon, im kinda frazzled tonight.
considering how amethyst is used for things like the spyglass AND is a type of quartz, it could be used for a version of the observer that instead checks how many entities are in it's line of sight, providing a stronger signal perhaps dependant on how close the entity is, or how many entities there are in it's line of sight. It could be called something like the "Beholder" or something along the lines of that.
-in electronics, quartz is used for timing. so maybe redstone items made with amethyst instead of quartz could have different timing. like half as fast / twice the delay, or vice versa. -there's no easy way to get a clock pulse right now. amethyst could be used to craft a resonator. so a constant redstone signal input gives you a pulsed output at an adjustable rate... say five, ten, twenty, and forty ticks? -if you grind up amethyst to make amethyst dust, you can mix it with redstone dust to increase the resonance. using redstone dust, a signal can travel 15 blocks. but with doped redstone dust, it can travel twice as far. -since quartz and amethyst resonate, when you place a block of them next to a corner, it won't block redstone transmission from continuing around that corner. but they're still considered a solid block for all other purposes. this would make it possible to split a signal upward and downward. -a doped redstone torch doesn't go out when you turn it on and off too quickly. well, i know that's a lag issue, so maybe it just takes longer to burn out?

I think that amethyst should be used more for enchanting/prolonged potion use. If you coded it so you could make necklaces/jewelry and enchant said jewelry, you can wear it in your offhand or hotbar and it’ll have a certain amount of durability while you wear it. You could make a night vision necklace or crown that gives you night vision for as long as you wear an unbroken one. That way you can make a temporary potion effect that you can take on and off or switch out for another effect!
i think the ore amethyst (that took me a long time to spell correctly and memorize) should be another ore you can use to enchant an item, like lapis. when you enchant it, when you hit with a sword it has a chance to make a twinkle sound when the enemy dies, when you mine with a pickaxe, is has a chance to make a small glow on your character for about 2 seconds. and if you have a copper tool, over time it turns green! i really love the new ores, especially amethyst because of the twinkling sound! i feel like you should be able to combine the amethist shard with quartz to make a different kind of cristal that combined with a compass should make a liar compass, it will point the opposite way that it would be pointing at, also you asked for redstone stuff, so i thought of a new detector like sculk sensor, but it would be an eye instead of ears, following the instructions down here: if projectile detected redstone power = 1 if player detected redstone power = 3 if mob detected redstone power = 5 IMPORTANT: it will not detect any mob/player with the invisibility effect it will not detect any mob/player/projectile upon 20 blocks away from the starting point(new block) if there are walls on the path way of the mob/player/projectile it will not be detected
Ok, alternate idea; What if you could enchant the amethyst charm - it would accept any enchantments but not benefit from them itself, instead while it was in your hand it would bestow the enchantment(s) onto any applicable gear you were wearing/using, but it would also lose durability whenever those items did.
I feel that maybe amethyst could be used to make a varient of the daylight sensor that outputs redstone levels equivalent to the light level of the block it is on/next to
The amethyst lantern is awesome! We need it in minecraft. We should be able to make windchill with an amethyst, copper, and an emerald combined with 3 string and 1 wooden plank.
Amethyst should make a block called a lease, this block can be placed on top of a powered beacon to focus the beam, allowing it to transmit a redstone signal and not require open sky
The problem with the charmed shield is that is has the same durability as a normal shield, I personally think it should have like half or even 1 quarter of the durability as a normal shield.

Maybe the redstone amethyst block could be a block that acts like a beam emitter, so you could make really good puzzles that require you to adjust where the beam is pointing.
My idea for an Amethyst redstone contraption is a Pusher Piston. It could attack the player and push him/her up into the air! It also has the face of an Observer.
If amethyst is a type of quartz, and nether quartz is used to craft daylight sensors, maybe amethyst could be used to craft darkness sensors. We already have the inverted daylight sensor, but i think it could work to have them split into two different blocks. And they could each still have an alternate mode too, where one mode gives an output based on the light level, and another mode gives an output based on the time of day. For the day sensor, the brighter it is or the higher in the sky the sun is, the stronger the signal. For the dark sensor, it would change it’s signal strength based on how dark it is, or how high in the sky the moon is.
I dunno, I think something that would fit amethysts would be visual manipulations. Since it is used exclusively for sight-based objects, it would be cool if you could craft shards into dust and use it to upgrade armour to make it look invisible. Or, perhaps you could use it to regulate light sources by rubbing it on the sides you want to shade, or making torches darker by 1 lux level per rub
I definitely agree Amethyst needs to have other things outside of a Telescope and Tinted Windows, because as useful as tinted glass is you wouldn't really need to farm the Amethyst you'd just collect some from a geode or 2 and probably have enough to get the glass you need, also new colors of lights is always a plus so Purple lanterns would be amazing.
The redstone block could be like an observer, but for entities, depending on how many power sources it has would have different ranges, 1 source = 1 block, 2 sources = 2 blocks and so on, and depending on how many entities it can see, it emits a higher pulse.
There is one idea I had just now that you didn't cover. It's similar to the scientific approach you made in the copper video. Amethysts turn yellow when exposed to sunlight and permanently become Citrine. That would mean new items and blocks to the game, and more colour variation systems like the Copper one. Being exposed to the sky during clear weather daytime could have a chance to convert any Amethyst thing into a Citrine thing.
Upgrading golden armor with copper and wooden shield with amethyst shard would be most clean solution for making those new items more versatile and equipment tiers more interesting
You should make a crystal ball out of amethyst, where you can place it on top of an enchanting table for the ball to give the items night enchantment, like blood thirst, where more damage on a mob, something like that. Crafting crystal ball= 5 glass 1 amethyst 3 wooden planks The amethyst in the middle, 3 wooden planks on bottom, and glass surrounding the amethyst like a semi square.
So, Amethyst is a mystical type of material. Maybe a Redstone Sender and Reciever? The Sender would allow you to transfer Redstone Power through blocks to the Reciever.
I'd love to have the lantern added, if the lantern would be added then it would be a huge benefit for players who make mob farms. Yes, they would only work with hostile ones, this could also mean that if you're doing a raid. You can scare off the villagers with them. (but if that did happen, I'd think they'd need a less better version of hero of the village)
I like the lights idea but creepers and spiders shouldn't be scared because as you said amethyst has healing properties and skeletons and zombies get damaged my health potions so thats why I think it should only work on zombies and skeletons
