I Gave Away my 2001 Chevy Lumina to a Subscriber!

That is my car now. Dave has been a good friend to me since we first met. I already put 200 miles on the car since I got it. I love it. Long story that I’m not going to type here. But I know what it feels like to roll a vintage flat bed. It hurts lol

My dad rest his soul used to tell me an ugly ride beats a pretty walk anyday. I had a bunch of ugly cars in my day and it humbled me emincly. You did a good deed, keep up the good work randy your a man with a heart.

It was great of you, Randy to give away a car that would genuinely help someone in need and it was sooo cool of the guy that won it to give it to someone what truly needed it and seemed to be going through difficult times. You are so right and you lived it- having reliable transportation is something that can fix so many challenges in life. Those Luminas were great cars and while it may not win any beauty contests, it sure beats the shoe-leather express. I really appreciate you sharing your transportation challenges that you experienced back in the day, too. You are proof that someone can rise above them and I am sure for you having had these challenges yourself, with a family also, that you understand how important transportation is and I know you genuinely appreciate helping someone out in a situation like this. That was great! Yes, there are times in life when you need a helping hand. I was in a situation about 9 years ago when I abruptly lost my job and they weren’t plentiful like they are now and you had all kinds of competition. Long story short, I wound up having to sell my car (which was a cheapo anyway) to help keep a roof and food for my family. About time unemployment was running out, I got my job, but had no way with schedules/locations not matching enough with my wife to share her car. My Uncle (RIP) called me one day to come over and handed me the keys and title to a Grand Marquis that was in similar shape. It got me to work and where I needed to be until I got back on my feet and was able to use it to upgrade. I am forever grateful for that generosity as I didn’t know what I was going to do.

As a person who has been without a car at a time in my life, any car that runs and drives well is NOT a crappy car!

Always nice when you can help people out. My dad always said, as long as it runs and drives and can get you from point A to point B relatively safely, that’s all you need. I know companies always like to sponsor larger RU-vid channels, but in a lot of cases they never seem to give you what you need, something you need is a solar panel sponsor to help protect your investment in batteries, considering they are not getting any cheaper. Considering both cars in this video, one has a brand new battery while the other had a good battery, but both had went dead from sitting.

I had an '82 Pontiac Phoenix, the Pontiac clone of the Chevy Citation. Biggest piece of junk I've ever had. Only good thing was that it was a company car and they paid all the repair bills on it. Conversely, I also had a 2001 Chevy Lumina; great car other than intake manifold gaskets needing replacing (about like all GM V-6's), finally sold it at 139,000 miles just cause we didn't need it anymore. Enjoy your vides immensely!

A car is a car, as long as it gets you from point a to point b , I went from a 2011 Bmw 328i Xdrive to driving a beat up rusted Nissan Sentra that looks like it went through a tornado or 2 , my car was hit by a hit n run driver sitting in front of my house and I had basic liability insurance so that bmw is scrap now . But I have heat and I'm not walking to work , it does hurt a little bit seeing all of my coworkers driving shiny nice cars but I'm fortunate to have something at least . I enjoy watching your videos and the good you spread , keep being awesome .

You know it's funny, for the all 90s econo shit cars I've ridden in I've never had a single one mechanically not work every time. There's something to be said about how big of a gift a means of transportation is for some people even if it's a "beater" car

Sure would have helped me and my wife out a lot, my trans in my truck went out and we both work full time jobs with a 3 month old baby, waiting for taxes to get my trans fixed, sadly I still have to pay insurance and truck payment every month on my truck

Great video.. brings back memories of my parents..they had a blue 95..it ran for years till my sister in law blew it up for not watching the temp gauge...also I bought a 96 for my ex gf for 100 bucks and I put a used motor with 78000 miles on it and as far as I know she's still driving it...that was in 2014...those 3.1 motors were good if you kept up the maintenance on them...my ex's was the same color...

Such a good car randy I had a 93 grand prix and I only.paid 1500 dollars for it I drove it til the engine blew. Then I had a 1997 Buick lesabre and I was buying a different car I gave it away to some people who absolutely needed it

that's nice. that citation may need starting fluid, seafoam and git rid of smog pump most states don't do emissions on older cars.

My uncle use to say this about our Race Car. Pretty don't make it go. I think it applies in this situation.

The car had to give you a little bit of a problem and all you’re trying to do is give it away isn’t that always the case trying to help people and all these problems arise !! How to shop for 25 years every time I tried to help someone I would be the one put out unbelievably but it does feel good to help people great car to get someone that needs it though good job man!!!

The citation just needs a new smog pump then just put the dash back together, then put a better aftermarket headunit in it then drive it a bit

When I first met my wife she had a 1995 lumina. That thing ran forever. Living in rust belt, the rear axle was so rusted the tire would hit the front and rear of the wheel well cuz nothing was holding it. It'd still drag its ass end wherever lol. It was just too rusted to use🤷‍♂️

That's a great car. It needs is a paint job. Whoever gets the car could do the $700 maico orange peel special but it'll still look nice and it's a good car.. The maico by me just painted our 21-year-old Lexus and it looks nice from a distance but from up close It has lots of orange peel and not a lot of shine but then again it's a different maico than the one you use

Besides the Transmissions those Chevrolet Lumina don't really have an issue my buddy drove 3 hours with a very exhausted transmission a 97 lumina
