Rocket League players think they deserve higher ranks all the time. I wanted to give these toxic players a chance to prove themselves. I gave cocky players the Rocket League account that they think they deserve. Then, I had them play a match to see if they could win. Every rank has better and better mechanics, game sense and rotations so will these players be able to hang with the pros?

Yeah the skill gap is def HUGE between certain ranks. Though only the some what high ranks to the highest ranks. Silver is not too diff from bronze but plat to diamond is HUGE. (I just got to d1 in 1s and the first game I played I lost 5-1 where as the other game when I was plat 3 div 4 I won 8-3).

The fact of the matter is. You are always at the rank you should have. There simply are not enough games that you play where people troll/leave or you have team mates are comically bad for you to stop progressing if you are truly good enough to rank up. Also, if you are on a losing streak, the common denominator in all of those games is you. Even if you are playing well, there probably were a few decisions made in those games by you that led to negative effect on the score line. Never let the excuse of "bad team mates lol" stop you from learning and progressing.

a better way to do this would just be having a custom 2s game with the person who thinks their rank should be higher in a lobby of the rank he think he deserves. example; a gold thinks he deserves plat, put em in a custom match of plats. you also should let them use their own accounts too, since the first guy in gold looked like the controls were pretty wonky

I’m Diamond 3, and I constantly play with a Champ 1, we’ve been playing together for 2 years. In those two years, he has not gotten Ethernet. Our communications are a little iffy at times, but I believe I could actually get to his rank if he didn’t lose his packets when he was defending.

Been dragged into SSL lobbies by friends (as d1). Absolutely got destroyed. The gameplay is much faster, there’s no time to think about a play as you’ll just get scored on, and mechanically it’s amazing to see how skilled they are. I totally stuck out like a sore thumb and I think maybe touched the ball a handful of times. It was a great experience though and motivation to continue training!

If you want an easier time ranking up turn of cross play mostly for D1 D2 to get easier opponents, if ur on console (pc diamonds or better)

I’m going to be honest, the gold says he could beat a diamond 2 in a freestyle 1v1. He couldn’t hit a lot of aerials and he was tornado spinning. He should be working on the basics of hitting the ball in the air first rather than the advanced. I’m not calling him or herbad.

The GC1 account that was used was 1mmr off of GC2 (his MMR was 1574 and I believe GC2 is 1575), which makes me believe that there was a possibility that the whole lobby was low GC2. It was a tougher matchup for the C2 lmao

Striped, the gold said that he could beat a diamond 2 in a freestyle 1v1. I'm on the edge of diamond 1, but have been diamond 2. I'm not a freestyler just a regular diamond, with somewhat average (maybe better) mechanics. I would be down to freestyle 1v1 him if that's possible.
