The build doesn’t have 12 million blocks placed down in it, that number was just for the entire AREA the build takes up, so it also includes all the ‘air blocks’ that are around and inside the base. The real number probably isn’t even 1 mil and you could get an accurate number by counting all the blocks placed he shows right after.
14:03 269,195 is the number of blocks placed, you can see it in the bottom left. Although he also says the yellow concrete number isn’t accurate so it’s probably a few thousand more or less than that exact number.
the amount of work that went into this is astounding, it looks amazingg!! this comes from me, a person too confused to figure out how to make a simple starter house
It looked gorgeous in both new biomes, especially with those shaders 😍 I loved the blue hues of winter & Jafar definitely would have lived in the dark palace!
Hey Joel! You can replace slabs and stairs etc with worldedit (and retain their rotations and states) by adding ^ before the replacement block in the command. For example //replace spruce_stairs ^acacia_stairs
It’s so infuriating that the height limit changed just after Joel finished the base! 😒 However, it is arguably better for Joel’s sanity, as much as we would love to see the expansion!! 🤩💖
absolutely love the dark oak version of it. I agree with the "OUGH" sentiment it really stands out :D if the King of Mezalea was ever to get corrupted I feel like this would be the palace he would reside in. Too bad he's so strong and powerful he doesn't even notice the corruption or the demon on the server lol
The variation of color palettes also helped me notice different smaller details I hadn’t before, since each draws your eye differently. I also think the in-between stages as you’re changing the color look super cool as well! :D
The fact that he made that in survival and it looks good with just few color changes in each biome shows true craftsmanship!🥇also i love how the M.M.P. looks in shaders and how with the color changes it looks like Byzantine or Russian royal palace/cathedral!
Yes Joel, King of Mezalea, the one thing your mega base needed is a makeover. But seriously your base is already so cool- You should join hermitcraft :D
SmallishBeans please don't give up on the interior! I have been painstakingly building Mezalia and the Matral Palace and would love to see the interior finished! I would also love to see the bridge from the city to the palace! Absolutely love everything about these builds and I have learnt so much about building and how to use blocks in ways I would never have thought. LOVE your channel
"I can't be bothered to build anything." says Joel as he stands in front of his massive mega base which used over 12,000,000 blocks to build- indeed, Joel builds absolutely nothing, nothing to see here....
I wanted the dark one to be my favorite but I think the og takes the w! The details were somewhat lost in the dark one. The base is just freaking amazing! Hands down!
Sign this petition for Joel to do a small series where: 1. Vanilla structures on both land/sea get upgraded - into the way that Joel and his commenters would imagine them -Showing different styles and colour palettes -Varying from villages, temples, portals, etc Sign petition here: ⬇️
This is amazing! You should do it with the beanspalace and other mega bases. Each base in one different biome and let instagram choose what biomes or something like that
Absolutely stunning. Your honestly one of my fave minecraft builders and I watch A LOT of them, lol. What an absolutely amazing build. My new years resolution is to get more creative with my builds. :)
The dark oak version of the palace with shaders though, serirously bewteen the winter one (although incredible especially with shaders) the dark oak version with shaders is DEFINITELY the cream of the crop! I just love the glow agaisnt the red roofs, and how it forms a gradient from yellow to red! And how the gradient between the warm colors of the roofs and brown and black colors below said roofs just fit it so nicely! Sorry if this comment doesn't make any sense, and if it's cringey, but Joel's palaces in this video are phenomenal especially the dark oak version with shaders!
I'll never get enough of your megabase, Joel! I think it might look amazing in a dessert biome, if you want to make more videos like this one, or in an ocean! And it would look like a mix of yours and lizzies
Great video idea! Looks amazing and completely new in all the different biomes, really unique idea and it’s so cool seeing such a massive build have a completely different feel than the original while still being the same design.
I always thought that the palace looked like Saint Basil’s Cathedral found in the Red Square in Moscow, but the second he pasted it in the snow biome, that really sold it for me lmao
The palace in the snow really reminds me of the St petersburg cathedral..in the blue colours it looks like it could be the backdrop of the snow queen or the nutcracker 😍
11:07 "here's to the next mega base" 👁️👁️ is this hinting at a future project? also, my first thought of the Dark Oak Mazalean Matural Palace was that it looks like Jafar's color scheme too
out of every YT minecrafter, I wish my building skills were like Smallishbeans. every build is insane. I'm looking back 2 years right now and still my mind is blown
