Mr. Thishen Naicker had a difficult childhood, having lost his father tragically in what is an unsolved mystery to date. Sathya Sai Baba became his solace and support and a young 15-year old boldly undertook a solo journey from Johannesburg (South Africa) to Puttaparthi (India) via Frankfurt (Germany). The journey and month-long trip was filled with many experiences of Swami's omnipresence. It was also filled with interactions and memories for a lifetime. A poignant episode also took place when Thishen lost his voice after performing with the children's choir. He told his mother, "I gave my voice to Swami." The significance of this innocent statement hit him many years later...
