I really love your sonic origin story! I think this could honestly be one of the best sonic games ever! 😁 I love how you said sonic is just like the other animals in the world, but also saying sonic mentally prepares himself before entering the badnik and took the badnick to Eggman and defeated him. I always wished there was a game centered on sonic's character,I know his thing is that he has lots of origins but I'd like it if he had a canon origin in the games too;or at least some mentions of his past
Early childhood should be spent learning how to respect others, who they are and where they come from, in that order. Even in the safety of fiction, and if you don't know what IS in their past, you have to learn to respect that their past is not for YOU to re-imagine whether they're real or fiction, YOU are not the creator of them. Playing is NOT fan-fiction. You can't have arrested development DURING your development. When children play, they learn to be the opposite of "fans", they learn to be creatives. Fans just consume and appropriate, and maybe sell their half-baked stories as the extension of something already successful from the better-told stories in THEIR past. when Toby Fox was playing with Earthbound, the characters grew PAST Earthbound and became Undertale. Because what he HAD simply was not something he stole from HAL labs, Nintendo and Shigesato Itoi, he HAS creativity.
@@sboinkthelegday3892 the way I see it, if you roleplay with, lets say, ToyStory toys, I consider that a fanfiction, technically. you use an already existing universe and put your own spin on it, change it up with your own free will. I played with my ninjago legos up until I was 18 and I ended up developing an entirely new alternate timeline/reality that these characters reside in. I never once wrote about it, videotaped it, or drew about it. I just roleplayed out with legos with epic fight scenes and fun, interesting stories I made up. the way I see it, it is still a fanfiction if you are using pre-existing characters and universes. if you play, creating entirely new universes and characters, then it isn't fan fiction. it depends on what you play with and how you play with it. what do you mean arrested development? I don't understand what you mean by that.
The only legitimate origin story I can think of is what's in the Japanese instruction books. For example: Sonic coming from Christmas Island, a land where the inhabitants wear Christmas colors like red and white. Sonic is a drifter, he travels the world with no real direction in mind. He pilots the Tornado (That's right, the tornado is HIS plane. Not Tails.) Having the animal characters start as literal animals is weird, but what in the series isn't?
Mickey Mouse also had a biplane in his early comics, by Ub Iwerks and Walt disney since 1930. Human(?) characters appear at least since 1941 and range from ape-like to dog-like, I never really saw the problem.
I’d like the believe they were born bipedal, and the reason they exist is because of the chaos energy changing the world from how it is now, to how it is in game.
This is an interesting take on Sonic's backstory, the part where Chaos turned the Echidna's and other Anthro creatures into normal animals is an interesting concept and explaining how Sonic was able to revert back along with others across the world would be interesting. Though personally I think that it isn't as sound when you look at the bigger picture and what other media have portrayed the backstory, like how can there be so many Anthro beings in the world like the IDW comics but they all somehow have a unique ability to them when it's implied that there are lots of towns, cities, and basically a whole society of Anthro's even if they're mostly inhabiting islands. Not saying your idea isn't good, but for me I need a more in-depth answer than the power of magic rocks caused certain individuals to revert back to there Anthropomorphic state. Like they didn't just learn about technology and modern society over night.
I love the idea of an origin story for the games' canon. We don't usually get anything like because of the games having less of a story than say the comics or movies. I'm not saying that the games don't have an origin story, it's just that it's never explained why these characters are here and how they met each other. This is a really great story. I love telling Sonic stories despite me not being very good at it. Nice video, dude! :D
I like your idea of an origin for Sonic, but I feel the one part you may have not know is that Sonic is from Christmas Island as Yuji Naka has stated to Russian Magazine GameLand. My idea for Sonic's origin is like this: Sonic had just recently moved from Christmas Island to South Island because he wanted to go on adventures of his own. Not long after he arrives from the docks in Sunset Heights, he visits Green Hill only to notice things aren't quite right as he sees robots instead of animals and when he frees them, he is horrified to realize the animals were powering the robots. The next things he knows it, he sees the one responsible known as Dr. Robotnik and that is where the first game begins.
I hope we get a game that delves into Sonic’s backstory. And yes, they can call said origin game "Sonic The Hedgehog". Except this game would actually have an obvious reason for that title. And with Sonic and Robotnik having their modern designs.
What I like about this fan-origin-story is that it explains why (aside from Forces) there aren't that many anthro characters in the games compared to the numerous little critters, and why the two types of animals coexist in the first place. A very interesting proposition! 💎✨
My head-canon; Sonic's origin is that his mother given birth to him in Green Hill Zone, South Island and he already is anthropomorphic, blue and fast. His mother died of natural causes when he was young and Sonic vowed to protect woodland creatures in her last moments. Then suddenly Dr Ivo Robotnik appeared to experiment his roboticisation technology. (Ivo's canon origin is in SA2, he grew-up looking up to Grandpa Gerald and became a Doctor of Robotics and thought it would be better if everyone was robotic so he wanted to experiment on animals then overtime through the games wanted to take of the world has the robotic ruler) Then Sonic the Hedgehog 1 (1991) happens. I reject the idea that Sonic was originally a normal hedgehog and his friends where normal animals (also that he was born on Christmas Island thing) like Forces makes all of that non-canon.
Why not a biological father for Sonic? Why just only his mother as his only family? Also yes I still believe he was genetic born with super speed somehow. I know Sonic did not just pop into existence and just started making friends with no problems. He was raised by his parents to be a nice hedgehog, he’s not the biggest jerk as most picture him to be. He’s cocky, impatient, caring and adventurous this had to come from someone. Just sayin.
This is a pretty cool origin story for Sonic. Put a lot of thought into it. Thought I would also share my own take of a backstory for Sonic the Hedgehog. Born in the planet Mobius. After the death or disappearance of his parents and uncle Chuck at a young age, the last of the Ancients, Longclaw, takes him under his wing. She is amazed at Sonic’s power. His super speed. She warns him because of his power, he paints a large target on his back. Considering Sonic was still a little With that knowledge, he didn’t take it to heart and keeps showing off his power. However one day, a tribe of Echidnas hunt down Sonic and Longclaw. She then tells Sonic to run as fast as he can away from her as she fights off the Echidna warriors. That was the last time he ever saw Longclaw. Since then, Sonic felt a great amount of responsibility towards what happened to his guardian. So that’s why later in life, he closes himself from making friends at first as he doesnt want to put anyone else in danger. He begins to prove himself when a human Doctor from the Planet Earth by the name of Dr Robotnik began terrorising Mobius turning it’s wildlife into Badnik minions on the hunt of powerful gemstones called Chaos Emeralds. I’ve also been thinking of giving Sonic a bit of a character arc that lasts throughout the Genesis games. In Sonic 1, he doesn’t have any friends due to him closing himself from making any friends. Which explains why when he saves Amy, he rushes off before she sees him. He initially does this with Tails It’s not until Tails helps him fight Dr Robotnik and rescues him that he begins to be more open to making friends more. When meeting with Knuckles, Sonic initially has hostility towards him due to the Echidnas supposedly killing his guardian, Longclaw. It wasn’t until Sonic saw Eggman using him to get the Master Emerald that he began helping him and the two became friends. I’m also thinking of giving Sonic, Tails, Amy and Knuckles something to bond over. Loneliness. Sonic- Because his speed makes him a target, he closes himself from making any friends. Amy- Due to her fascination with Terra Cards and magic, many people view her as weird and scoff at the idea of her waiting for her knight in shining armour. Tail- During his life, Tails has been bullied by others and treated as an outcast due to his twin tails. Knuckles- Due to living on an island with a task to guard the Master bestowed upon his father who set off to find Longclaw. From then on, he never had anyone to talk to. Just himself. Since saving Angel Island from Eggman, the 4 then became the best of friends and in turn, Sonic became more open towards making friends. Rather than thinking his power would put his friends at risk, he then adopts the mind set of protecting his friends and any future friends he makes with his Super Speed.
I personally like it when these aspects are left vague since it retains an air of mystery, with only few details getting mentioned sporadically to give you an idea of how it could've happened. Unrelated to Sonic but I think that this air of enigma works for other similar characters: Lupin III, Columbo; their upbringing is never brought up, but it's interesting to speculate what choices or events were the ones that molded them into the people they became. There's implications in a few of the games that Sonic's origins may be supernatural, with bits and pieces teased about it. But personally I just find it funnier if the birthplace he came from was just any run of the mill location and his supernatural abilities were just innate talents he just happened to be good at lol
Seeing as Sega won't do this anytime soon I feel like this covers most of what and why sonic can do this stuff like manipulation of chaos energy or his beyond light speed and his power cool video and could you do other characters to potentially

I also have a theory to why they don’t talk in classic games leading off of your fan fiction: Seeing as they are animals they don’t understand English yet, over the classic games they start to gradually make out words and by the end of the classic saga, they have learned full English
i actually really love this fanfic. It’s definitely different than i would have made it especially because it doesn’t explain how there’s a whole population of anthros. But i hate when people say “sonic was born with his powers” because obviously there was some chaos interaction
This is really cool (you're lucky that people care about your stories and fanfictions. I put a lot of heart and thought into mine, but nobody seems to care and it's really making me feel down). Imagine if an entirely new character also becomes anthropomorphic thanks to the Emeralds while being into a Badnik, making both merge and creating this new half antropomorphic animal half Badnik character. I think it would be a pretty cool concept.

Your Sonic origin is interesting, albeit making Sonic a regular hedgehog that became anthropomorphic is a bit odd since the Islanders were just born that way, they weren't changed to become that. Otherwise, I think it's a good fanfiction. My only real pet peeve is that Eggman's first name is pronounced "EEE-Voh" like Evil, not "EYE-Voh".

I have difficulty explaining why, but I can't bring myself to get behind the anthros starting out as regular animals after adding in some new powers from Chaos Zero. For one thing, let's not forget that Gerald Robotnik designed Shadow as the "ultimate lifeform" to be a weapon that could(?) double as a treatment for his daughter's illness, which is why he tried it twice with Shadow and the Biolizard. If his goal was to recreate the animal people, he wouldn't have created the Biolizard and may not have had a reason to make Shadow a weapon, outside of him being mentally broken. Then we got Sonic and friends being regular animals at first. If that were so, how do you explain the amount of anthro animals that aren't keen on stopping Ivo, from just general anthro civilians we see in the later games, the occasional animal villains like Fang's squad, and let's not forget just how many animals might have hope that may not have been fortunate enough to mutate into anthros. I can understand it being used to distinguish the anthros from the regular animals, but that brings up counterarguments of what a story like this wouldn't be considering. Not to mention the Emeralds themselves. Sure, other stories have Sonic become who he is through accidental surges of chaos energy, but for the Emeralds to be in Robotnik's possession and for them to have not done anything other belong to him? I know Robotnik can be prideful, especially when he is successful, but for him to just wear the Emeralds like they're just priceless jewels? What's the point of that?
My idea for Sonic's backstory is inspired by the manga. Sonic was a shy anthropomorphic hedgehog from Christmas Island named Nicholas, nicknamed Nicky. He and his younger sister Anita are faster than average, and they wear out their shoes quickly. They meet a mysterious scientist named Dr Ivo Robotnik, who gives them new, indestructible shoes. Robotnik has been experimenting with chaos energy, the life force of all living things. But Robotnik is not actually as good as he seems, and intends to use the hedgehog kids for his plan to turn the world into his cyberpunk communist utopia. Nicky and Anita find out about this, and try to stop him, ending up on his flying superweapon which uses chaos energy. They get there using the Tornado. In the final showdown, Anita gets knocked off the fortress, angering Nicky. He hits the chaos reactor, absorbing the chaos energy and looked more like the Sonic we know now(the classic version) and realizes he is a sort of "chosen one" and defeats Robotnik. Nicky gets into the Tornado and gets knocked out. He awakens on South Island, and decides to adopt a new identity, and calls himself Sonic. This takes place a year or two before the events of Sonic 1, and Sonic painted his new name on the side of the Tornado.
I hope that We can get a game that delves into the backstory of Sonic The Hedgehog and Your Origin Story about Sonic is great and I like your content!!!!
Usually origin stories for Sonic are kinda lame and weird but i can see this one being the most likely SEGA would ever use if pitched to them somehow, it just makes sense for all these characters and its a lot better than Sonic being a lab creation lol
I love that idea, but the only problem is that Knuckles spent all of his life protecting the Master Emerald, so if he wasn't anthropomorphic before, that's an issue. Also, if you look at Tails' origin in Sonic X, you will see that there are some animals that were anthropomorphic who didn't seem to have unique powers. To fix this issue, I would say that some animals were always anthropomorphic, but when they were born, they would be the same height as the little animals you save. For example, if Tails was a baby, then he would be the same size as a baby fox. As for the Emeralds, I would say that they improved the characters' uniquenesses.
This is a really great fan fiction story! It fits in with the games very well! :) However as much as I love it I hugely prefer it if Sonic and the others weren't normal animals to begin with and then transform into their anthropomorphic selves. Don't get me wrong I expect them to not start off as heroes and as normal anthropomorphic animals who get powers later or are born with their powers and get the courage to stop Dr. Eggman but being normal small animals to be able to fit in Eggman's robots I don't really imagine them being that way in my opinion. I actually typed up three novels of Sonic that are over a thousand pages that are over Sonic X and the third novel is an actual crossover story with Pokemon. The first story is actually about how Sonic first ever becomes a hero. I have him born as baby by a blue hedgehog father, Nick, and a last white hedgehog mother, Emily. He even has a blue hedgehog uncle who is leader of the herd of hedgehogs and is a blue hedgehog, Hunter, and his Aunt Sandy who is an orange hedgehog and their son is his orange hedgehog year older double cousin, Jason. Jason will someday be leader of the hedgehogs. He absolutely adores his family especially his mother. Sonic and his friends and family like Amy, Knuckles, Big, Vector, Espio, and Rouge as well as my made up characters are live on their own planet and play as kids. Yet sadly Sonic's father, Nick, gets captured by the bad guys and Sonic's mother, Emily, gets killed by my main villain of the story, a female blue hedgehog who wears pink lipstick, Cindy, in disguise. Long story short Sonic, his friends, and family get caught by chaos control and sent to Earth and Sonic and Amy live with the Thorndyke family. Sonic, Amy, and their friends grow up on Earth, course Sonic even knows Eggman when they are kids and when they are older and even at first sight they have that strong rivalry, and Sonic goes on a big journey, he reunites with his Dad, becomes the chosen one hero, becomes Super Sonic, and takes down Cindy who turned into a giant due to the seven chaos emeralds to attack Station Square and ruin everyone's lives and there is a happily ever after. :) He even sees his Mom again in her ghostly form congratulating him for a job well done! It's a huge emotional heartwarming scene! :) I LOVE that story so much! It's my favorite! EEP! :)

I'd like to think sonic would be a normal brown hedgehog (but still a mobian) He would find a chaos emerald and would gain energy turning into sonic! The emerald wold do this knowing sonic's great possible future if he had that kind of power. Robotnik would already start his evil doings and sonic would be aware and travel away from Christmas island to South island starting Sonic 1.
I believe it’s possible that when Sonic was a regular hedgehog he was still curious and seeking danger. After when he saw the terror Eggman caused. Sonic wanted to fight him but got captured, Sonic learned of the emeralds Eggman was capturing and he touched them and he wanted to be a better version of himself, yet transforming him into the blue blur. The emeralds scattered across the world after Sonic used their power and he escapes.
I actually came up with an origin story that I've wrote a few months back then. Here, have a read for yourself: Backstory (Rough Draft): Sonic the Hedgehog, Miles “Tails” Prower and Amy Rose were actually from some far off colony which was constructed beneath the Tau Ceti planetary system, just right off the center of the Milky Way Galaxy around more than 80 years ago. As children, they grew up together, doing the usual everyday activities; which involves playing hopscotch, house chores, going to school and getting good grades, etc. However, that all changed one day when a mysterious enemy known as “The Cascadian Empire”, began attacking the colony, causing everyone; including the young trio, to flee the entire colony with very few resources they have left standing. And so, Sonic, Tails and Amy, having been accidently separated from their friends and families, are teleported onto another planet that is somehow vast, yet beautifully exotic and somewhat rather familiar than what they’ve expected. From there, they soon find themselves on this strange, lush new world; trying to survive the odds in the best way they can just to stay alive until they can find anymore survivors that’ve managed to escape as well. A few years later, Sonic the Hedgehog; now in his adolescence, along with his trust, two-tailed sidekick and adopted sworn-brother Tails, and Amy Rose; the sisterly role of the trio, having learned about the planet that their kind still inhabit to this very day, must now work together to face an even greater threat unlike anything they’ve ever fought before, vowing to defend their dying world and all of its’ inhabitants from falling into the hands of a notorious, mad scientist; bend on his quest for world domination in an attempt to salvage the Seven, legendary rare gems known as the Chaos Emeralds; the very last of the few ancient relics dedicated to grant any user access to their unlimited power, which he’ll use to build and army of machines to conquer the world in his name, and claim it as the perfect opportunity to build the Eggman Empire! I really love the story! I think it ties together really nicely with the cannon.I would love to hear Eggmans story too but until then I have a loose idea of how be came to be. Eggman was from the human world and lived in a poor family his father was originally a scientist but lost his job (idk why yet lol) wanting to make ends meet he helped his family and worked hard to become a scientist himself and he did...But obviously we know Eggman is evil and wants the rule the world bla blah blah...I guess some of the reasons why he is evil I'd give would be because he grew up with so little and he wasn't treated the best by society but even after getting recognition the damage was set and the now praise he got was more of a twisted sense of motivation to rule the world..? Anyway he made a promise to his country that he would travel to a different planet and study everything about it and bring home anything that could benefit there own.The people cheered him on and were hopeful that Doctor Eggman would find alot that would greatly benefit there world.But when Eggman returned the air seemed to be filled with dread he came back on his flying ship and sent in a army of his newly made robots to attack and overthrow the human race..He succeeded and now not only Mobius but the human world was ruled by Doctor Eggman... Unless Sonic could do anything about it! But yeah that's kinda a rough idea I came up with in 5 minutes lol
I never personally liked the "2 worlds thing". Even if you justify it, wouldn't it be simpler to just make them 1 world? It isn't like other series haven't done something similar. If Mario could have a bipedal fire-breathing turtle and mushroom headed people in his world, if Dragon Ball could get away with having a bunch of animal people in its world, what's stopping Sonic from doing the same?
I'm pretty sure every one has a different A.U. for SONIC Mind if I share: Sonic has the SONIC UNDERGROUND family originally he had his Archie name (which I can't spell) but after his parents found about his speed (Wich he's born with) they renamed him to Sonic SONIC THE HEDGEHOG at first since Sonic couldn't handle his speed like his quick acceleration he kept crashing in to things & was made fun of but when the News about Dr. Robotnik was attacking Green Hill Sonic felt like he could help by using his speed and could make a name for himself & could possibly be a hero but as we all know it was successful after Sonic 1 1991 the newspaper came out A new Super Hero called SONIC stop the evil Dr. Robotnik now after his defeat he's now upset that a random hedgehog making a fool of him and destroying his plan to rule the world now seeks revenge against him capturing him and roboticize him for his own evil (Classic Sonic had green eyes and was 11 when Sonic 1 occurred and his love for Chili dogs was from his Uncle (Chuck's famous Chili dogs)

I wouldn’t like it if SEGA did something like this. Especially with sonic and friends having to become anthropomorphic. It doesn’t feel right. The emeralds being used as a wishing device makes them more like the dragon balls too which isn’t very original. Overall I get that it’s just a fanfiction but I would be worried if sega tried making their own canon origin story. Especially with their mandates and recent history of terrible writing in the last 12 years
I'm glad Sonic doesn't have a story, but only as a compromise because he couldn't really have the kind of a real, weighted story I would want, because he wasn't always build around having one. At this point, I would want it to have some relevance to new inclusions like Shadow, but that's not really fair to how it would limit any FUTURE inclusions of new characters, who would have to be retconned INTO the past history of Sonic's world. They still need to be, but it's easier to say "they just never met Sonic", when something like Shadow is so... obvious question, how and why was he obviously based on Sonic but 50 years earlier? In my headcanon there's a pretty convoluted explanation to that, and why we never see Mighty and Ray, but that's not really transferable to the kind of light adventure that SEGA wants to tell. EVEN THOUGH it's THEM who made up all that nonsense like Blaze's dimension while still pretending to be light. In my mind the "dimensions" are what "dimension" MEANS, not the literalized, "just a place but a different place" that was sold to naive and hardly literate sci-fi audience in the 1900's. DIMENSION is something like depicted in Inception or Doctor Strange, like the tunnels in Ocarine of Time forest temple, added infromation that twists the reality of what ALREADY know. That's how Sonic characters work, like in Wolf's Rain, they just MOVE a little bit to another direction in MORE dimensions than 3. That mythology is already something that is said about any cat belonging to a witch, and stuff like that was explored widely in Silver Surfer during the time Sonic 1 was released. It's like, people forget this is LITERALLY how you acquire the Chaos Emeralds in their weird alternate ZONES, like Twilight Zone or Quantum Leap, mainstream TV. These ideas are old as bread, but NOW people are saying i'm making it too complicated. Yeah, maybe to "modern audiences".
I'm sorry but I personally dislike this origin story. I prefer Sonic as a character to have more or less always been what he is today rather than needing some fantastical happenstance to mutate him into it. Even the defunct origin where he was originally brown maintains that he was born anthropomorphic. Changing that to where he was originally a normal animal but changed because of Eggman feels like just a rehash of Crash Bandicoot's origin story. And that he's also responsible for every other anthropomorphic character becoming that way rubs me the wrong way too. I like it better that those creatures just naturally exist in Sonic's world. It's the same with the loop-de-loop formations and checker patterned dirt. Those are just an ordinary part of the fantasy environment. I'm really sorry that I'm being so negative about this. I definitely don't mean to stifle your creativity as a writer. Especially given, as you say, this is simply fan fiction. It's just very at odds with what I personally enjoy about the series. No hate intended, I just don't like this take on an origin story for Sonic.
