I forgot mistake #4: Don’t overpromise. “10x your conversion rate”, “Increase revenue by $10k/month”, etc… Hacker News community will flag your post. Stick to tangible outcomes. And if you’re looking for other ways to grow your startups, I wrote this: marclou.beehiiv.com/p/how-to-get-your-1st-customer-for-a-micro-saas
Marc, I'm loving your content since I discovered it. Congrats on the growth! I just had a question though. Background - I'm not a tech person, in my day job I'm an accountant. I have some coding knowledge and can build a simple website and deploy. I've create a simple chrome extension which is published in the Google Chrome web store and I just generally do like to get involved in the internet of things like I have this YT channel and a newsletter etc. Anyway, my question is, I now want to level up my coding skills so I can try this Indie hacking thing. Of course, I already having one product out there on the Google Web store but is Indie Pages a good place for someone like me to be right now or should I wait till I have a bit more knowledge and few more products out in the market?
Fantastic insight on leveraging Hacker News for visibility! Your strategy of combining a personal touch with technical language in the category clearly resonates well with the community. 👍
Amazing tips! Also I really loved the video where you showed 23 websites. Are you planning to do video about how to design the website? I am really interested how you do the layout and font picking. I believe it will be interesting for devs who wants to learn design as well. I know bunch of devs in person who is good in frontend, but without good design skills
Marc you truly are an inspiration to me. I followed your tip and fired the developer me in favor of the entrepreneur. I feel things are finally changing for the better. Ciao!
Another brilliant video! Thanks a lot Marc for unveiling your secrets! One topic I'm really interested in is to know what kind of company setup you use to back all your startups? Is it a local Bali company, a LLC, etc..? Thanks in advance for explaining this
@@krystian1993 earning more than the last salary. For me personally, what I truly love is the freedom to pursue my passions, the joy of learning new things every day, and connecting with others through networking and building.
Thanks for the hacker news tip! After watching your video I posted one of my app there and over night - at least for me in germany - I got a lot of points (350 until now) and comments (68 until now)! I'm curious to see how this is reflected in the download numbers. Since it's an app just for women, probably not as much as otherwise - but it was definitely worth it!
thanks for sharing, very insightful! Would be great to hear more about places to tell people about new cool products. Wondering if it's possible to get some kind of free google ads credits or whatever for starter marketing campaigns. Did you explore this path? Is it too much hassle for solopreneur ?
Hi Marc, I have a question regarding SaaS market, is there any market for Ideas and use cases which can help developers like you to make something which will be a great utility. If there is let me know, how should I go about that?
