This video ended up being super long cause of the fact it's 50 kills and it has SO MUCH ACTION so I hope you guys enjoy it! If you want to watch more content I stream daily on twitch.tv/ikeepittaco (streaming right after I post this video) We're currently playing a lot of Empyrean Jhin as ADC in Grandmasters/Masters elo o7
The videos aren't bad but why do you keep lying for views? This account's peak this year is more than 200LP away from GM. Nobody in this video was even close to GM.
LDR is way better late (even mid game), just beacuse everyone has so much armor after durability patch. Lethality just isnt worth it over armor pen late game.
It's better in every case from an armor pen standpoint even very early into the game. I'm not sure when LDR outpaces the higher AD of Collector, but by the time it comes up again in this video, LDR would've been increasing his damage by probably close to 50 percent.
The thing is, you would also want it to use the cut down passive (or you lose on a lot of what makes the item good). Since he's ahead, he will likely have more health than enemies, and it's looking like kayn and galio (the only two tanky people) are building much more damage builds than armor, so ldr loses a lot of value
@@xxedgewardoxx the game lasted more than 40 minutes so everybody's level 18, every champ that's not an adc or an enchanter has more hp than a jhin with no hp items
@@xxedgewardoxx look at the base armor of champions after the durability patch. Even without armor rune the squishiest champs reach 100 + base armor at level 18. Meaning ldr provides close to the equivalent of 30 lethality on the squishiest characters. Once you get to 150 armor which morg and galio are at it's 45 pen and kayn who's at like 200 armor is 60 pen. This ends up being a way larger increase in overall damage even without ldr passive since he gives up some ad for a huge damage amp.
LDR is almost always better. This is because of the 30% armor reduction. Collector only reduces armor by 12 (at level 18), this means that its only better on targets that have
definitely true that LDR is really good and better than collector late, what seperates them is the AD. you get an extra 25 AD with collector over LDR, which is huge for jhin since he loves AD. I totally think that after the enemy buys armor boots LDR is more effective, but collectors execute, AD, and extra gold is insanely valuable for jhin in the early/mid stages of the game, otherwise you'd opt for bloodthirster over it every time. the idea that LDR is so much better tho is why you buy it second vs. full tanks/bruisers, as no matter how much ad you get that armor pen is insanely good especially post durability patch
I believe its strong for a different reason, first is because its a funneling item, " collector " hints at the fact that you collect kills. so if you take all the kills you can snowball really hard and we all know how good jhin is when snowballing. Secondly a lot of people retreat at around 30% hp or lower which means when they start running you can deal something like 20% of their remaining hp as execute damage. So it has its value for getting more kills , denying enemy gold and farming their jungle and lane, and it combines crit and lethality in one item so you get scaling as well as snowballing / early gams power from one relatively cheap item
The Wild Arms 3 combat music is a BANGER. Very appropriate for the skin too. Side-note: I think more people would subscribe if you put at least one chapter break in between the spoilers at the start and the actual beginning of the video. Having to immediately rush to pause all of your videos and then spend the time to seek out the actual starting point is super annoying.
I have always used Ghost Jhin, and I always start with boots and 4 potions, idk why people keep asking me why I do that, Jhin is all about running after all
To be honest, jhin was made to burst enemies, but galio is a mage antimage tank he should deal 35% of jhin's life with one Q at most.... This is what I think
Sure, LDR is more usefull when they have more armor, but that bonus 15% damage to champs with more max health is still enough for me to swap it late game, cause after the durability update and new tank mythics, everyone is tanky. Pair this with cut down run for a tanky team, and its like I have a mini bork.
Hey taco, do you ever consider getting ghostblade to replace boots after you're full build? Especially if you have ghost, the extra damage is amazing and you get the same MS as boots from ghostblade passive. The active also negates the no boots factor in fights.
Movement speed is so good in 80% of the games especially for an adc with no mobility that thr more you get the better, when you root a target before a baron fight and walk to oneshot him having movement speed is super nice, as well as when the enemy tank is ignoring your team and walking to oneshot you, the damage wont be too useful but the movement speed would save you. plus if someone from the backline is low you can sometimes find a chance to walk from the side and oneshot them with auto + q + 4th shot
Collector gives you 12 lethality (which means u ignore 12 armor BUT only at level 18) whereas LDR gives 30% armor pen, which essentially means that against any target with 40 or more armor (base + bonus), LDR is going to be better (as against 40 armor regardless of your level, ldr ignores 12) And we are assuming you are level 18, because if not, LDR is going to be even more efficient compared to lethality, as lethality scales with level. Sure you can argue that collector gives 25 more AD, but it doesn’t compensate for how much more armor u reduce with LDR (plus collector execute passive is trash tbh, but let’s assume that both the ldr giant slayer passive and collector execute do the same for easier comparison) The optimal play if you are snowballing is get an early dirk and stick with it till u sell it for ur last item, and buy ldr 2nd or 3rd item.
What a crazy game. Would have been over waaay earlier if your team just fought more mid/late game with you around. After 35 min it became a real slug fest and almost hard to watch lol. Glad you pulled it off, 50+ min losses are the worst feeling.
LDR breaks even at about 120 armor late game because armor penetration % is a multiplier and is where more of the cost of LDR goes, whereas more of collector’s cost goes into AD which has diminishing returns, so the break even starts at 150 armor and as AD is relatively worth less moves to 120 armor. collector passive pretty good but also have to consider LDR damage buff will typically have more use late game when front to back team fighting vs getting picks on squishies mid game, in addition the 5% execute has diminishing returns too as champs heal/shield, it could be 5% out of 200% effective health, whereas LDR damage buff is constant
i know its digging old content but your maths is all wrong, firstly LDR is more effective as armor prevention at about 60+ armor, 2nd the armor shred scales with ad, while flat ad bonus is... flat. so 25 ad, 12 lethality is better vs ~80 armor target if you have about 200 ad without collector/ldr, and ldr gets better after. with ~900ad ldr would've been better at 62 armor (disregarding passive, which LDR has a lot stronger one anyway) and since lowest armor in league at lvl 18 is about 90 LDR is always better than collector in 30+min games (and usually before that too, but collector makes you snowball hard)
Armor pen is always most damage, it doesn't matter if they have 50 armor ldr will always be the highest damage you can build, especially if you have lethality. The way damage is calculated makes lethality, armor pen and crit stack insanely well. That's why you sometimes see baus build collector ldr IE on sion, the damage is crazy if you don't need any utility.
@@rampantsarcasm2220 ok chief mate what part do you disagree with and why? I've already tested it but your reply will probably be entertaining so let's hear it.
Great video as always :). Would be nice if u opened tab a bit more often tho cus I'm curious what ppl are building etc, it's a very minor thing tho but yeah
Jhin cant use PD though, he cant trigger the passive since when it does he'll have to reload and thus not actually be able to use the damage boost from the extra AS
@IKeepItTaco With the new items rolling around, do you think Evenshroud could at all be viable with Jhin if you take the lethality approach? I tried something like Evenshroud, Collector, RFC, IE, Essence Reaver and boots. Any thoughts?
9:32 tbh that is a bit your bad too. You used 4th shot for more dmg instead of using it like a smite. It would've been more worth it to hold onto fourth shot as a smite. (Your still the best Jhin player though)
