Ahh yes, my weekly dose.

I grew up on 4 strokes. One day I decided to buy a 2 stroke to try it, i'm never going 4 stroke again. Loved 2 strokes so much I bought a brand new ktm xcw in 2018 (still carbureted) and my riding has progressed faster than it ever has. Very confidence inspiring. I'm no professional but my xcw handles jumps at the track very well for my level of riding, feels just as good as my MX bikes I've had and obviously in tight nasty trails its an absolute star, makes technical stuff effortless.

Change the rear wheel to an 18" one, change the gears to the yz250x model (used on ebay etc), get the suspension revalved for enduro riding. A bigger IMS tank will also help for long rides.

YZ250 is still a relevant choice for 70% of riders. For as long as we can buy a mid 90’s to mid 2000’s 2 stroke bike for between 1k and 3k it’s hard to make the leap to 10k on the KTM TPI.

Love my YZ. I've had a lot of bikes, and this one's been my all-around favorite for the past couple years. It does everything well and with the playfulness and enthusiasm of a puppy.

2 strokes are fun ... had a honda cr80 when I was a kid and enjoyed it so much . Enjoy it bro love the videos !

Glad you get a chance to experience 2-t insanity. Have fun, CC! Had 2-t sportbikes from the 90's up to the early 2000's. Switched to 4-t as i got older for more civilized rides & less time spent on engine rebuilds.

Got a KX250 from 04, love this thing.. Upgraded to a Lectron Carb, really worth it. More power with less fuel used, a real miracle

I own a 2020 yz250 and at first i was asking myself why did i bought that bike because it pulls very strong.... but after 2 weeks i was in love with it and i wouldnt trade it for any other bike! 2 stroke is the best to put a smile on your face!

I recently also got a 2008 YZ250! It sure can be a handful being a short small rider myself! One thing I saw on your accessories is the aluminum tusk guard I believe. My only complaint is when you hit something or lay it down on the guard or pipe. The edges of the guard can sink into the pipe making some gnarly dings. Also reaching any dirt or sand under the guard is quite hard without removing or loosening it. The first couple of rides I assumed it was clean but when I removed the guard for any maintenance there was a lot of packed sand between the guard and pipe doing damage to my pipe... Lastly, I was having an inconsistent clutch feel. I was using synthetic 10-40 then 20-50 and my problem wouldn't go away(the oils were the engine, clutch, and tranny combo). Upon doing some research, I found using gear oil is much better. Tried it and fixed the problem! Try it if you're not already. I was blown away by the difference. (Amsoil for pre-mix and tranny) Cheers, and keep up the great content!

I heard that 2-strokes are cheaper to rebuild but will break more often. There was a video of a guy calculating all the costs for a 2st and a 4st. But 2 strokes have a special charm to them. I like the sound and look

Awesome bike. Make sure you visit a good workshop and have the factory powerband changed. I got a red one as it is meant to be faster (yeah right). I should have gone blue.

KEEP 2 SMOKERS ALIVE!!!!! I never knew wha6t real power was until i got my YZ250. At 150lbs this bike has more power than I need, but once you get comfy on them nothing can beat it. Absolute beauty of a machine

I have a 1991 wr250 2 stroke yamaha and i love every minute on it tears up the track and has plenty of grunt i suggest getting a wr450 transmission and converting it the wide ratio makes it so much better for trails and puts your top speed around 100mph with a 48 tooth rear sprocket

My dad had RX135 in India, one of the crazy 2 stroke engines from the 80’s We sold it when the repair and the parts cost were as much as the bike’s cost. But that was his most favourite motor cycle of all time. Wish it lasted more

I started on a yz250 has my first bike. It scared me very much, but I learned by pure pain. And now I can jump on any bike ride it full throttle

Re the 2-stroke oil, I would recommend upgrading to the Motul 800 series. The 710 is good for bikes with an oil pump, but for pre-mix the 800 performs significantly better and you will end up using less of it

I have a 2004 and 2019 YZ250 and I like the older design so much better. The new plastic, especially the side number plate looks weird. IMHO the older design is the most beautiful YZ design, too bad you replaced it by the newer one. Other than that great bike. 👌👍

Ahh 2 stroke. Who never ride even on small 2 stroke will never understand whats it feels like. I started on 80ccm 2 stroke Suzuki RG and even now after Honda Shadow 700, CB Seven Fifty and VTX 1300 i still looking for some 2 stroke motorbike :)

Had the same exact 250 growing up when I was a kid, the damn thing ripped and i was very small at the time so it was fast as shit i was 130 i think! i had alot of fun on the 250 but i went to a ktm125 2 stroke!

I absolutely love my yz250 its is Cockey fast but manageable I rode my friends ktm 250 2stroke and it was so slow compared to my yamaha and it was top heavy eaven tho my yamaha was taller and it didn't pass the smile test it my yamaha does it hasn't failed anyone rideing a yz250 came off it smiling so I ride yz just wish they had an e start its nice when rideing Enduro

Unless you're crazy about luxe. Don't even bother changing that pipe. There are actually plenty of videos that show that a beat up pipe has actually produced better numbers on the Dino. A lot of guys just want to clean luck. But I doubt it's taking away any power. Do a search for beat up expansion chamber and you will see one of the most mangled chambers in the world actually producing more horsepower than a brand new one. Pretty interesting stuff.

Nice. I´ve got a 01 yz250 and a 08 crf250 and i love them both. I will never join the 2stroke vs 4stroke bullshit. As long as it´s a dirt bike then just send it! :D

if you wanted that but more challenging to ride through technical trails, get the yz125. Its like the 250 but requires more clutch control
