OMFG, I used to want Latte SO BADLY when I was collecting Pullip in the the late 2000s. The closest I ever got to having one was when my friend let me borrow a used one she got with all her hair chopped off. She visited me for about a month? I had a slim chance to get her inbox when I found her at a local doll store, but the lady who owned the store overheard me tell my friend how jacked up Latte's price had gotten, and she quickly jumped to repriced her to make a bigger profit. I never forgot that.
Pullip Latte is so dear and important to me, I am so happy to see her here. She was my first Pullip and technically the first doll that made me realize how much I loved dolls. I bought her a few months after she was originally released along with Rida; I was thirteen and I hoarded all my Christmas and birthday money (back then they were around $70 or $75 each) after unsuccessfully campaigning for them to my parents, who didn't quite understand why I still wanted dolls. There was a lot of self-convincing at that time that it was fine because they were ~*collector*~ and adults bought them, which is goofy stuff considering how young I actually was. Didn't get over this until college, and I didn't get any more pullips til around 2015 and now I am back collecting all the older favorites I wanted (I am massively biased towards Pullips from before 2010ish with a few exceptions). I hope you do a full review of her; she doesn't get enough attention, and when you unbox her you're going to find so many lovely details (her earrings, how cute she is with her bangs pushed back). I will say mine has deteriorated a lot in the 18 years since I got her - the gold on her boots lost their sheen, the bag in that awful pleather crumbled, her belt is unglued, and she has some face yellowing (her jacket is in great shape though, surprisingly). Still, she is my favorite and will be with me forever
I did a similar thing early on where is obsessively keep the boxes and all the different little things so I could justify that I was a *collector* and therefore it was okay… thankfully I got over all that 😭 I should end up reviewing her with a few other dolls! I’m very behind on Chinese dolls to review so I may take a LONG time to get to these Japanese (and Korean) ones 😭
@@xCanadensis It so funny all the little things us collectors do to 'justify' our collections. I also had to unlearn telling people 'oh but this one r a r e and worth a lot', when I had never and have little intentions of ever selling most my dolls. Looking forward to these reviews whenever you're able to get to them :)
The Pullip Latte's is such a blast from the past with her outfit. It's so 00s (the casual earth tone version of 00s not the blingy Bratz / myscene glamourous one we often see in Gen Z fashion). Great dreamy and beautiful haul.
About a month ago I lost a bidding war on zm for a BIG jenny doll lot when i saw your video upload I was like, "oh maybe she bought them" 😂 I always try to imagine another collector enjoying and loving the dolls, takes the sting out of losing lololol
Yaay i love japan hauls and licca is so cutes! Also can confirm rody toys are suuuper common in italy, my grandma had one at her house for us to play with when me and my brother and cousins were children and we were always fighting over it
McDonald’s had some Halloween Sanrio toys a few years ago and they were the perfect size to add to the Calico Critters. My grandson loved them so much and he started calling them Calico Critters. He has three of the houses and loves playing with them.
A lady in the next city has been downsizing her Blyth, Pullip and I think Soho dolls, not sure on the name for those as the boxes are out back, but she is selling them dirt cheap so I have been to her house like 3 times now. She was selling the Rozen Maiden line for 50 dollars each without their boxes and custom Blyth dolls for 75, needless to say I upped my collection a bit more lol.
I love your japan haul vids. I am a collector of japanese vintage toys and a lot of licca and jenny dolls. And I also have a bunch of hamtaro house including that candy house.❤
theres a blue anomilocaris. theres also another company that make anomilocaris but the finis dont move, theyre much smaller but just as nice. its also in a series where they made hallucinogenias
It took me soooo long to finish this video😅❤ you know I LIVED for this videoooooo Licca madness babyyyy! Brooke you have inspired me to post my haul I just got from Zenmarket. I was drooling on 90% of what you got lol. Also I'm so happy to know what Canadensis is now, I wonder If there is a Pokémon inspired by a Canadensis??
The bijou Licca Chan series is so good. If im not mistaken the Licca you got for less than $10 with the dress and the boots is also a part of the bijou series called the pink party.
I'm always looking for doll clothes that fit the big RH Amaya doll. I like to redress her from time to time. Many 18" shirts fit. But not pants. I did find some 28" ( 1/3 scale ) outfits on Amazon. But they only had one pair of pants, that luckily were stretchy. If not stretchy, they won't fit over her hips. The Smart dolls now have a curvy doll. I think they're the only one of that scale that do, idk much about them. Anyway, hopefully more clothes will come out for them, which would hopefully also fit big Amaya.
Thank you for this fun video. Lovely to see your haul from Japan. My favourite was the creature who named your RU-vid channel ánd your carrier path. Great story about Brooke, aged 10. I just bought my first Pullip doll, a Make It Own Pullip. Because I always dress my dolls in outfits I make my own! I have various dolls in my doll collection: resin bjd's, 1 antique doll, 1 Smartdoll, 1 Blythe and 1 Pullip (when she comes home next week!) plus more Barbie's/Rainbow High/other playline dolls. Great video. ❤ Love your channel ❤
Kinda serious question: have you thought about what you would want to happen with your collections if you ever unexpectedly die? (English is not my first language, sorry if it's too direct)
Idk my husband would own them I guess and he can do what he wants. I’m too busy living to be super concerned with what happens when I die and I don’t really want to be thinking about it or discussing it on the internet
I actually did just get a Japan haul too lol. I got a handful of cool stuff from PlazaJapan. For myself I got the new PokePeace house set with Jirachi, the Pokemon Fit series Flabebe and Floette plushies, and a really cute Licca doll umbrella (which I bought mostly with Pinkie Cooper in mind because I have her rain jacket and rain hat and have been looking for a suitable umbrella for her.) I also got 2 Licca dolls and an extra outfit for each as a bday gift for my MIL from me and my partner. A really nice haul overall and I'm definitely buying more very soon because I really want the new haunted house Pokemon set that's currently up for preorder. Japan make so much great stuff!! 😭💕
The pokepiece houses are soooo fun!! We have a few but my husband hates building them so I built them all a few months ago ahaha!! We’re soooo behind on Pokémon fit D: last time we bought was when gen 5 first dropped…
@xCanadensis I feel that lol. I bought 6 PokePeace house sets off the bat without even realising that you have to put together every little piece yourself, and it took me like a month to get around to making them all 😅 I do find them fun to put together when I'm in the right mood but I don't have a lot of space to work on stuff like that at the moment so it's a bit of a balancing act 🫠 I don't have many from the Pokemon Fit series, but I have been keeping an eye on them because the series finally gives some of the more obscure Pokemon a chance to get plushies. I was really happy to see Flabebe and Floette get plushies because they were the first Kalos Pokemon I really got attached to. (Although it was disappointing to see only the red flower forms get plushies even though all the different forms of Vivillion and Furfrou were made and even Aegislash got both of his stances in plush form.) I can't wait for them to get to the Galar mons because Morgrem is one of my absolute favourite pokemon but he has almost no merch at all 🥲
GAH!! I totally forgot to attach the link 🤦♀️ thank you so much for the reminder!! www.amnh.org/explore/videos/shelf-life/coelacanth-discovery-preservation
