I Got A K-Pop Makeover 

HELLO FRIENDS! here, after a very long wait - is our k-pop makeover video! we had a wonderful time in seoul learning more about k-pop and i hope you guys enjoy it too! what do you guys think about my final look? xoxo, saf

for everyone commenting on how can she afford this stuff: This is her and tylers full-time jobs. that they have had for many many years. She not only makes a lot of money from youtube because of how many views/subscribers she has. but she also invests that money back into her videos (dare I say her business) to make them as high quality as possible. a lot of people try to copy her videos but no one can match the quality. she puts so much time into the research. makes sure to include knowledgeable and even professional people from the thing she is researching. and then she leaves her opinions out and truly tries to see it from the culture's point of view. for example the melon dress. Super far from her style and does not work with her body shape or American standards when it comes to clothing. but she was able to step out of those constraints and say okay way does this work? what are the positives here, there for learn more about what they look for in their fashion and bleeds into her understanding of the subculture she trying to understanding. Then she even puts it on the internet for everyone to see. Mad Props to Safiya. I always really respect the amount of energy, love, time she put into everything she does. it is very very cool. I respect it so much!

Honestly, Safiya is the most respectful RU-vidr I've ever seen not only is she respectful to the other countries and she even tries to pronounce words that she doesn't know

it feels so surreal to me that sara just died. haven't watched her in a while so i never even knew that she had leukemia. the only reason why i know about her passing, is because i just came back from hyun (saras boyfriend)'s video talking about how much he really appreciated her. it was such a heartbreaking thing. condolences to saras parents and hyun.

I thought she looked familiar when I saw a clip of her in Tiktok so I searched up this vid I watched a few years ago and confirmed it was indeed her. Sending my condolences to everyone especially to her partner. Rest in peace Sara♡ you will truly be remembered.

The shop lady was so sweet and friendly. I remember shopping in Seoul and having this lady pull something out of my hand saying that I was too fat to fit into it. She didn't know I spoke fluent Korean and being a young teen who wasn't fat but bigger than Korean standards that STUNG for eternity.

I absolutely love how respectful you were. Living in America and loving kpop is not easy, as we get judged a lot. It always makes me happy to come across someone who doesn't recoil away.

I remember watching this 2 years ago and I didn't know only bts and blackpink. Now 2 years later I am a big kpop fan and literally crying about how cool Safiya is.

I love that Saf's videos always feature her but never revolve around her completely like other RU-vidrs' content. She really focuses on highlighting and respecting the culture and history of whatever trend she's looking into and she asks the experts as opposed to just making herself over and exploiting other culture's and subculture's trends for views Long story short I love her sm 😂❤️

honestly i think i thought about it and i think the ultimate reason why kpop is so popular is just the sheer amount of content. from idols themselves: personal vlogs, behind the scene, work progress (how they record songs/learn the dances), their own variety shows, going on korean variety shows, music videos, dance practices, sometimes videos with lore, various social media platforms, and so on. and not only that but there's a TON of fanmade content too. varying from fan art, fan edits, and just fan communities being active. there's a continuing flow of content from the artists to the fans, if you don't like one thing, there's always more to explore. not to mention so many groups also experiment with different genres and concepts (not even comeback wise just kinda who the groups are), there's something for everyone. and i mean EVERYONE. with hundreds of group debuted, totaling over 4000+ idols over the past 4 decades, there's something for everyone as it's been done before. but yeah i think that's pretty much why i think kpop is so big, because it's music and more. a lot of idols blur the line between tv personality, performer, and youtuber. some feel more like tv personalities, some more performers, and some more youtubers. not every idols does the things above, but the ones who are the most successful do. there's just a lot of content available and it's all documented online. and i think people take that for granted, hell i take that for granted sometimes too. the fact that i can just go look up something online and watch it back for years to come. hell i'm a seventeen stan and their entire history can be traced on the internet as they mainly used their twitter and youtube that still has those old pictures and videos retained. and those date back as far as 2012. and so many groups are the same. this kind of availability of years and YEARS of content is why there are so many kpop stans.
