I had the same problem with my battery life in the beginning😅 Once you’ve downloaded a book and start reading it, you can turn off the WiFi and suddenly the battery will last you weeks! It’s a day and night difference really
I’m on week 2 of battery life at 74%.. took a minute to realize how to make it last lol. Turn off any back light during the day while you read. Airplane mode. At night put it on dark mode at 7 brightness if you’re a night reader. That’s the sweet spot lol! I read every day/night for hours at a time. It’s been marvelous! Love not having to constantly charge it. Play with it and see what feels right to you! Enjoy it! I am so happy I caved and bought my first Kindle. It’s the absolute best decision I’ve made.
omg it sounds like you’ve got it figured out!! i didn’t realise you could turn off the backlight during the day so i’m absolutely going to do that. i’m on week 3 or 4 and it’s only down to 37% so i think the battery has thankfully sorted itself out! they’re absolutely worth the investment 💖
@@bookswiithsoph Oooh nice! And I don't think it's called a backlight now that I'm thinking about it but I just keep any warmth or brightness down to 0 during the day and it definitely helps. But yeah after you first get it, it does end up sorting itself out around the next charge session. Have you had the issue of it not charging all the way to 100%. It will only show 99% for me and I read somewhere that this was also normal because it's not "good" for it to be charged fully to extend battery life. When you get ready to charge it again see if it will go all the way.
I also had the same problem as you do, the battery drained quite fast and didn’t live to the expectation many people claimed. What I did after some research was to hold 40+ seconds the on/off button until the kindle restarts by itself (don’t press on the three options that will appear, keep pressing the button). That helped me so much with the battery life ❤
i had to restart it early on because of the kindle store not working, but i think it did help!! the battery life on it now, 2 months later, is leaps and bounds better 💖
Ahhh I’ve been waiting for this one! I LOVEEE how you decorated it - def gives dark romance 🥰 I feel like since most tech things don’t come fully charged, they die quicker initially but once you charge it fully yourself, it lasts longer. If you’re still having issues w it dying quickly though, some ppl say using airplane mode helps! Also, I personally feel like it’s a lot of work to try to download new books on the kindle & just way quicker to do on my phone so I normally use the kindle app to download new books and then sync my kindle to refresh my library! Hope those help but so excited to see more of your kindle journey 🤍
I love how you decorated her! I have the same battery issue on mine. I turned off the bluetooth but keep the wifi on because I read on my ipads and phone as well, and like it syncing, but I think the battery life is shorter because of wifi. If you turned off wifi, it would last way longer.
I LOVE MY KINDLE!! For the battery situation, I recommend letting your Kindle fully die and then charge it back up to 100%. Since doing this, my battery is lasting a lot longer (a couple weeks + I read on average 1-3 hours a day)! Happy reading 📚📖🥰
There is no problem with your kindle charging-wise. Same thing happened with my kindle. When we first use kindle- it's charge decreases fastly, after charging it once- the charge will decrease slowly.
I’m thinking of buying a Kindle but I have a few questions and would be happy is someone who has one or knows about it replies :) Are all books for free or do we buy all books? Whats the best Kindle? Does it need Wifi to work? Thank u very much for anyone who answers this ❤
books unfortunately aren’t free - you’ll have to pay for a kindle unlimited subscription ($13.99AUD/per month), which has most independently published books and a small amount of traditionally published books. or you can buy the ebooks which can be anything from approx. $0.99-$16.99AUD. i love my kindle paperwhite, but the normal kindle is still great! if you have a look on amazon, they should have a table in the kindle descriptions that compares and contrasts the features of each model you can hotspot your kindle from your phone if you don’t have WiFi. to connect to the kindle store on the kindle and sync between it and your kindle app on your phone, you’ll need to have some sort of internet access - wether that be WiFi or hotspot. i think some more expensive kindles might have cellular, although i’m not sure how that works! 😊💖
you’re all good! the difference is just the way of accessing the books. using kindle unlimited, you’ll be able to download ebooks for free that are included in the subscription, however a lot of popular/traditionally published books are not included in the subscription due to publisher contracts. kindle unlimited acts a little bit like a library, where you can borrow up to 20 books at a time. so if you’re interested in reading mainly traditionally published books, you might not want a kindle unlimited subscription and instead just buy the ebook outright. doing this means you’ll have it on your kindle forever. buying books this way does get expensive though :) did that make sense?? i’m not fantastic at explaining things 🤣 i’d encourage you to download the kindle app on your phone/computer and explore the options to get a better feel of the right decision for your genre of reading. kindle unlimited books should be labelled as such, and non kindle unlimited books will be labelled with a price for the ebook
and you can always do both! i have a kindle unlimited subscription and love it, but still buy ebooks when they’re on sale or if i want to read a book digitally that isn’t available on kindle unlimited :)
i’ve never been to australia but i love the accents and the kangaroos and the beaches 😍😍 you had said UK in your video but i’m like “she sounds australian 🤔”
