Thank you Darwin! Yeah I was a little excited there for sure LOL! It is definitely a big step forward for the company and hopefully everyone will enjoy the footage to come!
Man that mulcher head is the ticket, man especially for reaching over embankments an mulching brush, game changer, thanks for sharing, it will pay for it self in time for sure, look forward to upcoming content from you, growth buddy keep up the good work 🌲💪🇺🇲
Thank you so much! Been using this thing for the last couple days and it's been awesome! Got a new vid coming out tomorrow with this thing on it's first job so stay tuned!
I’m sure I commented on this video somewhere when I first watched it well over a year ago but I just picked up a nearly new used brush hound FX26 that also has internal relief and your excitement after that first tree is what I’m hoping for next week when I get her up and running!😊
Thanks James, that's such a cool comment man really. I know the last year or so has been tough for a lot of people and I'm just glad people are watching and enjoying the channel and the content and if that helps brighten their day then all the work filming and editing makes it so worth it. I really appreciate it, and yeah that was a pretty joyful moment for me for sure!
@@idigit4967 hey man, it’s great to see your business growing. You were so excited after the mulched took down the first tree! So happy for you bro. Big Al
Was always thinking these rotary types seem better suited for clearing and then your older/other style would be great for maintaining land once you cleared it once. Awesome rig and looking forward to the learning curve....
Yeah that's actually a good point there Fred, the mulchers are better at the initial clearing, particularly if it's larger diameter material and the rotary is much better at maintaining it in the future.
Looks like a very nice head. One thing I do like with my 2 FAE heads is the double sided teeth. I do like the idea of not having the case drain though nice clean hookup. How’s it doing for ya so far?
Thanks Jeff, this thing is definitely a weapon, the last couple days using this thing have been unreal LOL! New vid coming out tomorrow with this thing on it's first job!
Not fair, you got something John with Upstate Brush Control doesn't have. Now he can get the comments like, 'Hey John, Idigit4 has a Prinoth brush head for his excavator. You need to get one too.' 😜😜😜😜
For your info: I saw a guy that welded 2 rod (5 or 6 inch ea apr) on his rear bumper allowing him to slide 2 x 100 lbs par rod. He was using his old tractor conterweight and he was very happy about it. Maybe you could MacGive something like that. Thanks for your great vidéo.
Congrats!!! Waiting on my rotary mulcher for my JD50G. Have been told that some manufacturers use the case drain set up for lubrication and carry that fluid back, as well as pressure relief. Pretty simple to add so I had it added just in case I ever ran across an attachment that required it. Just so happens that the Rut attachment requires it. Anxious to get mine and see what it’s capable of
Thank Joey! Mine didn't have the case drain so it would have been another thing to have to set up and this just seemed simpler and from what they told me the motor in this thing is pretty much just as powerful and after mulching with it for about 14 hours over today and Friday this thing is the real deal. Let me know how you like your Rut attachment!
@@AllstarVentures It was like 25k, plus taxes and for the dealer to install it and tune it. You can email me at DJones2585@gmail.com The dealer is Richardson Service in Conway SC.
Glad you like your MTL cutters. I tried to buy one. Paid for it, waited 6 weeks for it to ship. Only to get the order canceled by the owner of MTL. Still waiting for my final refund. It has been a couple of months since they canceled the order. They don’t answer the phone now. Wonder if they went out of business?...
Thank you brother! I super excited man, I've got about 14 hours on the thing so far and it is unreal! For such a small machine (compared to a full size excavator or a 100 hp skid steer) what this thing can do, and how easily it can mulch material is very impressive. And yeah, for some reason some people on here in the comments just think all us RU-vidr's are just laying down every night in piles of money or something LOL!
@@idigit4967 🤣🤣 yes they do! The mulchers on the excavators just seem so handy! I guess I didn’t realize excavator are high flow it’s not like the skid steers. You can be more precise with an excavator and I’d say it’s easier on the tracks.
@@eliteearthworksllc Yeah this thing has been great and super handy for underbrushing in and around mature timber. Your 260 would handle this mulcher with no problem. If you got any questions about it let me know. I have another vid coming out tomorrow on the first job with thing thing and it was awesome!
I'm telling you, I've put 14 good, hard hours of mulching on this thing between today and Friday and this thing just eats trees and craps mulch. I'm super impressed so far, my only complaint is that it's a tad heavy for this machine but not to the point its unusable. On a Deere 60g or Tak TB260 or a Cat 306 it wouldn't be a problem due to the weight or tailswing of those machines. I can cut and mulch over this side of the tracks you just have to be on stable, flat ground and move a bit slower. But yeah, if you got any questions about it let me know! Thanks man!
Just wondering how the cutting head is holding up, and if your still happy with it. I’m need to buy something for my excavator and like this unit. Also can you give me a ballpark on the cost. Is to around 30k ?
You talked about the Cutter/head. But what type of fluid runs it? Just regular "yella-bucket" tractor hydraulic fluid? Also, does your Kubota have a 'cooler' for the fluid? And you stated that the other cutting/mulching head had a piston driven motor. Do you think that the "external" motor would take the load off the excavator engine itself? I'm up near Memphis area, and thought about changing jobs (put money in MY POCKET instead of someone else's) But we have Kudzu. Do/have you cleared any "VINEY" type of ground? Just wanted to know if it can get all bound up by the vines/briars.. Also, (if you don't mind me asking) Do you charge by the hour or square foot?
Yeah I had never heard of them until I went by our local dealer and talked to them and they told me all about this company! They don't have many dealers here in the US but I can tell you they make a great product!
@@idigit4967 I didn't even know they made mulchers. Make a really nice groomer. Most of the mulchers here in NH are by DENIS CIMAF. The one we use on the RR is a DENIS CIMAF 150 on a Cat 315C with separate hydopack.
Thanks Andy! John has a great setup and a great crew as well so I can only hope! New vid coming out tomorrow with this thing on its first job so stay tuned!
Seems under powered. Do you have high flow auxiliary hydraulic’s? I would love to know and would buy one but not if I have to wait in between mulching... time is money and money is time
That looks like a really good investment and once you have a few hours running it and get used to it I think you will find it will be a game changer.....and yes you will get a Fecon for your skid steer you wont believe what that thing chews up just check out the Upstate Brush Control boys on RU-vid to get an idea what it can do day to day...Awesome video Stay Safe
Thanks Forky! I like Fecon but I'm really liking this Prinoth so far and I may stay with this brand for my skid steer mulcher but nothing is set in stone for that yet.
Me and you both! A tilt attachment where you could move it 90 degrees to the left or right would be awesome and definitely help with getting the teeth to engage the material. I've actually seen that set up, Fecon did a vid on a forestry contract in Australia who had that set up on a JCB mini excavator and it looked awesome!
Just depends really. I haven't exactly figured out what my rate for this is going to be because the biggest overhead on this is the teeth and I want to see how many hours I get out of them.
You should repay your local viewers with a free hour on each piece of equipment... . Yeah thats an awesome idea. 😂 I'd just like to get someone to let me play with one, but nobody rents them around the York area that I know of.
Yeah nobody here rents them either, at least not for an excavator. The local Bobcat dealer does rent a skid steer with mulcher but other than that, that's it. The local Cat dealer also used to rent skids with mulchers but they had about 4 or 5 burn up and they stopped doing that.
@@idigit4967 I figured it was a shot in the dark to find one. I could imagine some people would rent it never being on any equipment, or treating it like a rental. Not to mention all the liabilities involved with a mulcher or any cutter for that matter.
@@greenwoodsbushhogging6704 Yeah rentals tend to take a beating and if you don't know what you're doing with a mulcher on any piece of equipment it could be a bad day for sure. Machine could catch on fire, you could drop a tree on it, etc.
You're not the first. I saw one or two other people that had those and one of those had two machines like that who bought them to do roadside clearing for the cities and counties. Some of the excavator mulching videos on RU-vid are over 9 years old.
Yeah, I've seen a few vids of this particular brand mulcher (Prinoth) but not many, and there isn't someone putting out content for this mulcher like I am so I think its cool that I am kinda the first for this brand.
@@idigit4967 I kinda figured it was around that, I think I’ll stick with my Rut MFG disk mulcher, it was around 6k. Unless I get high yielding contracts I just don’t see myself spending that type of coin for one function.
Hopefully that Kubota excavator won't catch fire like they do when you put one on a Kubota skid loader. If it was me I would have bought a better brand excavator before I bought a mulching head for it
This machine actually runs very cool, though that doesn't mean it can't catch on fire. Any machine doing forestry is at a danger of catching fire, doesn't matter what brand it is. The local Cat dealer has had several of their rental skid steers with mulchers go up in flames and that's why they don't rent them anymore. My Deere caught fire last year cutting broomstraw, but luckily I was able to get it out before there was too much damage, just a burnt wire and a few singed hoses. I know several other Deere skid have caught fire here locally as well just from talking to the mechanics at the local dealer. It happens, just got to keep your machines clean and be aware at all times and have INSURANCE!
@@idigit4967 never said that the excavators would catch fire. And yes I do Forestry work to And have a kx-80 excavator and can't wait to sell it and get a Takeuchi best excavators on the market for the price. I have a ASVRT120 a Kubota 90 and a bobcat 870 and both of them are the worst machines I have ever run just like Kubota excavators. I have run about every brand on the market and those 2 brands are the worst on the market. ASV is far superior to every other skid loader on the market especially for mulching. And like you said the most important thing you can do is keep your machine clean. I clean mine every other week completely inside and out especially in the summer time when it's hot and dry
@@brandonescoe9980 Yeah the Takeuchi's are great, I got my hands on a TB 235-2 and I was super impressed with it. The TB260 with flat out out-perform this U55 all day long in every aspect. The main thing I really like about the U55 is that I don't have to worry about the tailswing in tight areas. I have heard nothing but good things about the ASV's when it comes to mulching.
@@idigit4967 I want the 290. For the type of work I do I have to have a 18,000 to 22,000lb machine. I can't remember the model number but Takeuchi makes a 28000lb machine and I would get it with steel tracks but when I get rid of my Kubota excavator and get a 290 I will get it with the steel link and bolt on rubber pads. Personally any excavator over 12000lbs should come standard with that set up. Kubota has to be a special order for that type of track where most all other major brands have it as a normal option or you can get rubber tracks but on heavy machines rubber tracks put a lot of stress on the undercarriage because they stick to the ground more. I am pretty sure all small excavators don't have any tail swing. Also the hydraulics in ASV is what sets them apart. I can climb a hill with a bucket full of dirt in high and lose maybe 200 rpms and the same hill in the 870 with a bucket of dirt I have to go back to low in order to get up it
Got the same head on a know-57. Running the 30cc motor turning 2800 is what they told me Got 250hr on my head keep the teeth sharp an they are worth the money
hey, great videos. Learned a lot from them. Only recommendation would be to take your free hand out of the video. it adds little if anything and can be quite distracting.
