Nate’s my brother-in-law. I haven’t spoken to him in a few years and I didn’t know he was being featured in a VICE video until someone sent this to me. He is genuinely a friendly guy at heart with a rough exterior. He did have self-inflicted trials and tribulations; I’m happy to see he’s doing well and learning that life can give you a second chance if you’re willing to take it. Thanks you VICE, for helping Nate make amends and right his wrongs.

This is the ONLY guy I’ve seen take responsibility for his bad reviews. And I’ve been binge watching these for hours. Despite trying to keep them separate, your personal life can definitely effect your professional life. The repercussions are just much more relevant and severe when your profession is permanently scarring another strangers body who’s not only paying you but trusting you. It’s tough but I’m glad he’s holding himself accountable and moving forward. Best of luck, Nate.

I give the guy a lot of respect. He took ownership of his mistakes, he seems legitimately upset about it, and he’s trying to make things better. I’ll give anyone respect who does that.

My friend got a tattoo years ago from this guy. It came out really well and he was super cool. He even predicted my friend passing out bc he didn’t eat prior! It was hilarious.

Nate has been my favorite interviewed person so far. I feel really awful and disappointed that people treated him unfairly and didn't stick around to make sure he was okay. Wishing him all the best. Really the most heary warming episode for me

Pleased to say, I just looked Fat Kat up and the shop now has 4.5/5 stars!!!! Go Nate!!! The most humble owner so far. I get vibes that he was maybe dealing with an addiction possibly? He's really taken ownership of his mistakes and righted his wrongs. I love this.

Even though he asked a lot of questions. You have to remember its gonna be on his skin forever. You don't want to regret it. Personally I dislike the tattoo.

Vice chooses the best people to do the reporting. Watching Taji in tattoo parlors and strip clubs is funny before anything even starts. His self-awareness helps a lot. He knows how he comes off. This is a GREAT episode.

I think it's great you do these videos & get the other side of the story. Life can be difficult & challenging at times. To see people overcoming something negative & determined to change their attitude & fight for their occupation deserves recognition. I think you are really doing a service for those who really accept the past situation & push past it to become better at their job/craft. Congrats to you & you do it despite their rating being low & concerning complaints reported.

I like Louis Theroux as an interviewer. Putting his guests at ease and gaining their trust, whilst maintaining that awkwardness. Taji is the same. Guests are immediately on the back foot as they don't know how to perceive the situation. Brilliant.

You having a camera crew while doing this defeats the purpose. If the camera Was on me I would make sure I would always do my best work! Having a Hidden camera would be more accurate.

I love what you doing, as humans we all go through stuff, we all make mistakes. Those things should never define us... Being a tattoo artist is not an easy job... It takes year of skill and practice to master, we put alot of effort and dedication into every piece we do, a little appreciation goes a long way

OKAY so Snapchat brought me to One Star Reviews (1st episode I saw was with the dating coach, I'd date you but pls never say fabulous again. We can totes clink to juice tho) and now I've been binge-watching them. Just came here to say Taji, you're a gem, this one had me misty-eyed cause it seems like you're always looking for the best in people despite the opinions of others. Such a lovely quality and it makes a world of difference in every interaction 💜

He broke my heart. I had my own business for many years it was phenomenal, it was successful, I had the best reputation and then my health took a hit and I wasn't feeling well.. a few bad months made my reputation plummet quickly.. I'm actually tearing up right now just writing this because it still hurts my heart. I got burned out mentally and physically and all of my hard work that I put in for all those years went down the tubes quickly.. I ended up losing everything.. my health, my business, my marriage, my career, my income and almost my life 😔 unless people have owned their own business, they have no idea how stressful it can be and how risky and fragile it is.. I wish people would understand before putting bad reviews out there. There is a reason for everything.. we are all human and all have good and bad days.

He seems like a very cool guy, and I’m glad you got a tattoo that made you happy. It was really cool to see Nate take responsibility for his past actions. That’s not always something you see. I think it shows his character. And I wish him well in the future. He deserves another chance.

I have several friends that are very popular talented tattoo artists... and this "host" is exactly the kind of customer that made them all have a policy that all customers need to text or email them your ideas and agree between the two of you on a final design BEFORE you show up to your appointment where you get your actual tattoo.

Judging only on the quality of the finished product, I completely understand the 1 star reviews. That tattoo is a blotchy mess.
